Such a quaint little cafe, super attentive staff, and polite. Altogether, a pleasant experience!
Music was a little loud for my preference in a coffee shop. It was difficult to hear the person I was talking to. The coffee was okay. Better than Starbucks!
Man let me tell you, i am so happy this establishment is still open and still beautiful. I moved from peoria heights to Mooresville North Carolina about 11 years ago and i still think about this coffee shop everyday. I haven’t been here since i moved but you guys were my everything, every few days i would walk in as a little 7 year old by myself and your staff would give me a free giant cookie and i stick around to admire the cool interior and then go back home, now that might not seem like much but growing up in my household it was my safe place, long story short these are great memories and great people who own the place i hope everything is well and maybe someday ill return to pay you back for all those cookie. (ps ps if you haven’t already please bring back the giant 1 dollar cookies its good for the economy) :,)
Good place to unwind with a coffee after a cold morning run in the Heights
Awesome, cozy spot for all types of drinks and breakfast / light lunch. They have good vegetarian options and a couple of different non-dairy milks. Check out the lower level for books and couches! I will say their matcha is not my favorite, and there is not a dairy free option since they use a powdered latte mixture.
Great place for an iced Chocolate Eclair Mocha on a cloudly & cold January morning. Friendly staff and great service.
Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing as a first time customer. I instantly ordered a coffee right when I walked in. I was with 2 coworkers who sat at a table and did not order coffee right away. After about 30 minutes of work, we were asked to leave because they did not order a coffee. I have never been to a coffee shop that required a purchase to stay there and work.
Love the flavored beans. Jamaica me crazy my fav.
Great selections and smooth taste, although I am missing Sumatra decaffeinated with low acidity.
Looking for local tea rooms, found this one on Google. Food is tasty, portion size is okay though perfect for lunch ( recently tried Le Bakery Cafe and their plates are pretty big portions for same price). The seasonal drinks ate awesome and a must try! I would definitely visit again. Ambience takes you to a comfortable home setting with ample seating downstairs and outside ( for summer ).
We purchase our roasted coffee from Leaves 'n Beans because I can get 1/2 caff in the flavors I love, and my husband can get his full caff (NO flavors).
A very modest establishment. I don't have any complaints with the service or price. Overall a nice quiet place to hang out, or get some work done.
Great local coffee shop/cafe that also offers a huge range of bulk loose leaf teas & in-house roasted coffee beans. Love stopping by to check out their seasonal drinks & pick up something to eat. There’s a lot of seating (inside, outside, downstairs) & the environment is super comfortable.
Me and a friend ordered breakfast yesterday. Two sandwiches and 2 drinks. The "panini" was nothing of the sort. It was an untoasted unpressed sad deli meat sandwich on white bread. My breakfast sandwich was supposed to come on a croissant but they were out so I settled for ciabatta. My ciabatta however had been pressed and toasted to the point that it was had as a rock, yet the sausage and bacon inside were so pale...looked like they hadn't seen any heat. Mabe a microwave. I only ate half of half of my sandwich and it made my stomach hurt almost immediately. Only getting 2 stars because the drinks were pretty good. Lesson learned.
Food and atmosphere was great, understand that you are busy and as a customer expect a wait time. How about, “I am sorry we are running really behind and it will be 20 minutes”. Why be condescending to customers. But she did not have to be rude. We felt like she didn’t want us to order any food.
Omg. It's still here, even that wonky step, the one I always miss. And stagger like a moron. Once a tiny place, in a trendy part of town, it's now front and center culture in Peoria Heights. And I love it. More places need to make blueberry crumbles coffee and peach, and have books with their tea.
A great place to hang out and chat, with even better coffee. 8/5/2022: Edited my review from four years ago to say that new management has made this shop unbearable. Everything is now an upcharge, even water; the only thing that comes complementary are snarky remarks on every single question. Management is everything in a small business like this and until it changes it will remain to scare regulars away.
The food was great, however the woman working the front window could not have been ruder or less friendly. As the face of the restaurant, she was not pleasant, nice or representing the restaurant well. The food was great, however the burrito didn’t come with salsa, so it was a plain, dry burrito and they wanted to charge for a side of salsa. The coffee was okay, not very strong but decent coffee. I would return but hope not to encounter her working the register.
It's a very cute place. Love the location and the Snickerdoodle Chai Tea I ordered was wonderful!
The workers are kind, the food is great, and the drinks are better than you’ll expect from anyone else
