Pistachio Latte was amazing!
Don’t keep your sign open till 6 if you’re going to complain about your customer coming in 15 minutes prior to closing for a single cup of coffee to go. And the coffee was the worst cup I’ve ever had. I’m not saying that due to the comment that the barista made to me. I’m saying that because it literally was the nastiest thing I’ve ever had. I’m assuming that he sabotaged my drink due to me coming in 15 mins before close.
Currently enjoying the BEST cheddar chive scone on their sidewalk seating. Was surprised to see they moved to a new location since our last visit, still as friendly and as delicious as ever!
Great rotating selection of single origin coffee beans. Nice coffee drinks & dessert options. Relatively decent pricing (as of now at least). Staff is friendly and ambiance is also nice. One suggestion - would be great if they would have one selection of brewed coffee & espresso from single origin as well (I've found this mostly as same selection of their house blend).

It is a nice little coffee shop. It isn't huge and when I came in of course many tables had middle age guys like myself working on laptops listening to chill music that sounded like the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack...so if you like Fleetwood Mac etc not bad vibe music. I tried the honey lavender latte simply because I was intrigued by the name and wondered how the said flavors would combine but for $6 I was not disappointed. I liked how the staff left the front door cracked to allow a breeze blow threw on a hot day. My only suggestion is that the get shade for the small tables outside as it was a great day but would have been in the sun the whole time.
/BEST/ Coffee in Chicago area by far. The ONLY reason it’s 3 stars and not 5 is that there isn’t an electronic tip function!?!? It’s only cash. I never carry cash and always feel bad not being able to leave a tip to the staff (bc they’re awesome). Hansa is my go-to place. Much better than Dark Matter. Delicious espresso, creative lattes, and wonderful cold brew. Staff is amazing; they’re super friendly and fun to talk to!
A little crowded but man was the coffee great .. I got a honey lavender latte with oat milk and one of their GF apple cinnamon muffins .. first of all best muffin I have ever had .. I are in like 2.5 seconds .. and the coffee .. was not blazing hot .. perfect temperature .. and beautiful work on the foam .. found my go to coffee spot whenever I’m out here .. P.S. I want that muffin recipe
As a budding coffee nerd, I am always recommending Hansa to friends. They have an excellent selection of freshly-roasted coffee beans (roast date is on the bag and usually is within the current week), sourced from coffee growers around the world. Their selection of coffee drinks range from classic drip, to pourover, to classic espresso drinks, to sweet flavored espresso beverages. My favorite is their cortado (equal parts espresso and steamed milk, for an espresso-forward drink with a velvety texture). A tip for ordering their sweet flavored espresso drinks: If you enjoy a more espresso-forward flavor, order the small size; if you prefer to taste more of the milk and flavoring syrups, order the large size. They do not change the amount of espresso between small/medium/large, so you can control your flavor preference by the size. The baristas are always friendly and knowledgeable, and they do an excellent job with whatever drink you order.
Great find while taking a detour from my usual ride. Excellent espresso drink this time. Just off Sheridan Rd. On the cutoff to route 176.
Cute shop and great drink selection however I would an extra shot of espresso to the drinks. It feels like I’m just drinking oat milk.
we love the cafe and coffee however we have run into one employee a few times now who seems to always be in a bad mood and today oct 18 we had him again and same thing just has bad attitude and makes a feel like we are an inconvenience for him. we gave 3 stars due to the fact the coffee and the rest of the staff are super.
The baristas were super friendly and my drink was AMAZING. Highly recommend the walk in the woods, one of their fall drinks. Their vegan pastries were also super tasty.

We all want The Daily Grind true history of Lake Bluff back in town they may be in Lake Forest and less known but I don’t have any fond memories of this Hansa place and likely never will 1 star

Excellent coffee and outstanding service! I was shocked that there was no way to tip the servers when paying with a credit card. The two young women at the counter were working extremely hard and had great attitudes. Unfortunately, many people were paying with a credit card. The machine they used does not allow you to add a tip if you’re paying with a credit card. It’s a shame that the owners do not value the staff enough to update their credit card terminal to allow them to be compensated for their outstanding service.
The most friendly staff and a creative, seasonal menu of drinks! They also have impeccable taste in music.
I work for a store that supplies to this coffee shop, and the gentleman who showed up to receive the order was so very kind and helpful. I hope he comes back again for this order.
