It was great. Scone and coffee were goid. Daughter had chicken salad thst she said was very good. Restaurant clean with several cozy areas to sit and visit.
Went to Higher Grounds for the first time today, let me tell you how amazing it was!! It is so clean and beautiful! So many options for drinks and food! The staff was the best! The price were great!! Being from the Chicago and being newish to the area Im so happy I found this Gem of a place! I will be going back daily!!
Went through the drive thru and ordered two bagels with cream cheese and butter. She told me that you have to put the stuff on yourself?! How does that make any sense?? Nothing special about this place.
I've been here several times & the employees are phenomenal. I always try to stop in for something new. Amazing!
I tried the bluberry lavender iced coffee and it was so good!! Great customer service too.
Found this coffee shop by googling what was nearby. So happy we stopped here. The food is delicious and the staff are so sweet!
Cozy atmosphere. Only had coffee
Nice people, fast on getting my drink and great tasting coffee.
I've been at the window waiting now for over 10 minutes. All I ordered is hot chocolate. Service is very slow. They didn't offer anything as far a cinnamon Rolls muffins or breads that were on the menu everything was out. Still sitting here we are now at the 15 minute mark and this is crazy.
Been coming here for years but the prices have gotten out of control and we just can't justify stopping here anymore. For instance, this morning I ordered a medium latte and breakfast burrito. The burrito now costs about $14 and my order, for the latte, burrito and tax, was $20.79. Over twenty dollars for a coffee and burrito? It's just crazy. (The burrito used to cost $6.10, less than half what it now costs. And to be fair, the breakfast burrito is quite good, and spicy.)
I stayed overnight in Freeport for one of the first times since moving to Beloit and was so excited to get higher grounds before heading to work in the morning. Sadly I was incredibly disappointed. I looked at the menu online while i was in line as it was still dark and the drive thru menu wasn't lit. My entire order was wrong despite confirming at the window. I ordered a Samoa macciato and got a raspberry latte; a cherry almond muffin and got a lemon raspberry, and a raspberry filled scone in which i received s cherry scone which was basically frozen. I didn't notice until I was already on the north side of town heading to work. I understand accidents happen but for an entire order to be incorrect is a shame. If they didn't have the items I ordered they could have told me instead of giving me wrong items. I hate to choose Starbucks over my favorite local stores but this was a very disappointing experience.
I love this place. I love the staff. I love the environment. It's priced competitively with other fine coffee establishments. They do have some options not offered other places. My favorite is the Mexican spiced Cocoa with some espresso.
Good coffee, great atmosphere, friendly staff.
Best place in town for coffee and visiting!
Great variety of breakfast offerings. Great service!
Slow service, very busy
Everytime we stop for coffee, I am pleased with the quality and customer service. My coffee pot broke this week. The first day I ordered Dunkin Doughnuts, I was not happy with the drink I received. It just didn't taste right. The next day I ordered from Higher Grounds. The exact same coffee I had at Dunkin. I just want to say Higher Grounds taste way better than Dunkin, and the prices are better also.
I'm sad to see the decline of my favorite neighborhood cafe. Not only in the quality of their breakfast but also in their staff. Specifically the blonde girl working at 10am June 21 had a load of attitude and left multiple items off our order even though we repeated it to her three times in a row. I really hope this isn't indicative of the rest of her coworkers but it certainly reflects poorly on them.
Love them! Their drinks are fantastic!
Every time I stop at the drive through they are always out of ingredients for the panini I want. Even if there's still an hour or more until closing, they are still always out. I'm not a big coffee drinker, so I was more interested in the sandwiches they had to offer. Needless to say, after a few times of them not having the ingredients, I won't be coming back again. I tried three times and was disappointed.
