Had a fun time getting coffee in the morning we decided to come back in the evening for cocktails! Neat vibe and owner Tyler showed us a great time. Big city quality with small town feel. Looking forward to returning.

I've tried coffee houses all over the country ( and some out of the U.S)and Obsidian is hands down the best. The drinks are extremely creative and the owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Any time I am in the area stopping in is a must.
Best coffee you'll have. Great vibe in a small back alley coffee bar. You'll come to try the coffee and stay for the conversations and likely be leaving with a second drink to go. Whether you're looking to get a simple coffee or latte or wanting to get adventurous with an Old Fashion style coffee or a Bold and Brash, you're going to want to try more of Tyler's coffee creations. Can't recommend this place enough.
Great experience all around. The coffee is delicious. The owner tyler is extremely knowledgeable about his craft and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. Can’t think of a better way to start off my day.
Best coffee in central Illinois!
Obsidian Coffee is a gem in old downtown. It can be a bit of an adventure to find. The direct entrance is in the alley, but you can get in from the street side by entering what appears to be a toy store at 137 N Vermilion St and going to the back of the building. Beans roasted by the owner. Nostalgic flavor coffee drinks. Several craft beers on tap. Top shelf spirits for hand crafted cocktails. Great conversation with the owner. Highly recommend.
