I believe that IL has machines fixed when they want. Watched everyone lose waiting on friend to finish. Worker even commented she never seen anybody win like week. All bonuses maxed almost people still losing at least 1 should have paid out but didn't. Not Darcy's Fault but state wanting more money. What better way then to make machines unwinnable Who do they answer to?
Wish it was a bit bigger and had 1or 2 more machines. But atmosphere is great and the employees are always friendly.
Review Date: October 10th, 2018 Lady luck was not on our side. After grabbing coffee with my friend, we decided to hit up our first Gambling Cafe. I think that’s the best term for these. They are little cafe buildings that have a handful of machines in them and the offer some basic amenities. This location has beer, sodas, pizzas and candy for your enjoyment. I partook in a water and piece of candy. Before heading in, I was snapping a few photos of the outside for this blog. Upon entering, the lady at the counter asked what was I was up to. We chatted a bit and I told her about my travel blog and that we were there to check it out. She was really friendly and set me up with a punch card and told me a few things about the place. I, having worked in very similar environments, asked if I could take a few photos. As I expected, due to the nature of the business, she asked me to not take any while inside. I respected her wish. I can describe the inside though. It’s a rather cozy gambling cafe. There was a nice red and black lounge area off to the right once you walked in. The counter was up front and easy to access. After the counter, there were 5 machines on the right with a soda machine and some snacks on the left. With this being an impromptu visit, I only had $1 in cash on me. My friend had a few bucks on him, so we sat down and started playing. Well, my $1 turned into $1.15 with my first spin of the slots. I thought to myself that it was a great start! Maybe $1 will last more than I expected. That’s when I jinxed myself and the next two spins at $0.50 a go ate up my money. Well shoot. My friend had a few more bucks on him than I did, so I watched and talked to him for a bit as his cash pile went up and down like a yo-yo. In the end, he lost it all as well. But, that’s the nature of a gambling business, right? I mean, I went in with a wrinkly dollar bill and left with three shiny nickles. That’s something, right?
