Our Server here was amazing, and the wait was much shorter than expected. The food was good, but nothing super special stood out. I was really surprised at cash only but they had an ATM inside so it wasn’t a huge problem.
Good food and drinks as always but... Less than an hour after we were seated, and immediately after the check was dropped off, some employee (who we previously hadn’t even seen) approached our table and rudely said “There are lots of people waiting. You’re killing us” and stormed off. We chugged the rest of our drinks and got our cash together while he proceeded to glare at us from across the room (friends can confirm the glare). This was an unbelievably rude way to try to rush customers out of a restaurant. Again, this was after less than an hour at our table... I’ve been going to Tweet/Big Chicks for 18 years, but won’t be back for the foreseeable future as this treatment seems to be the new norm (based on several similar reviews). P.S. Might be time to inform the front-of-house staff of the Tweet "lexicon". Also, there won't be a next visit from any of us.
Excellent service, generous portions, and a friendly neighbourhood vibe! Tweet’s coffee cake is not to be ignored (scrumptious!), and take the server recommendations seriously for a lovely brunch 😌 remember, it’s cash only! (ATMs available)
Favorite brunch place by far. Food was outstanding, I had the crabcakes bennidict. Staff is a delight. Their cocktail menu is extensive and delicious.
A fun breakfast spot off Argyle. Highly recommend trying the complimentary coffee cake it is amazing! The cocktails are good too. Don’t forget to bring cash, but they do have an atm with only a $3 fee.
The Corned Beef Hash is amazing. If you like crabs, the Crabcakes Hollandaise is a must try. The Eggs Benedict and Portland Omelette are very tasty. Overall, the cocktails and foods are great. 3 stars because of a rude experience in the most recent visit. Finished our foods, got up to pay the bill (Cash only so beware). Came back to the table and within 15 seconds, a waitress came up and said "Is there anything else we can get for you?", not in a nice way. I said "No, thanks" and she said "There is a lot of people waiting" and walked away quickly. Wow! I have not had such rude experience dining out for a long time. I left a healthy tip on the table and was contemplating taking it back and leave only 15% but it wouldn't be fair to the waiter who served us because he was pleasant and quick. I worked in a restaurant even more busier in college, and fully aware of the etiquette. I was not milling around, only to take a sip of water and was on my way. No need to be so rude. I will give this place a rest. Don't need to be aggravated by rude waitress when I try to enjoy a nice Sunday brunch.
Excellent breakfast with complimentary comedy server that was very funny and entertaining. Had the california eggs benedict and the beef hash plate. Both were excellent. Service was fast and friendly.
This is my favorite brunch spot in Chicago. I visit a few times per year, whenever I am in town. The vibe is cool, the food is great, and the drinks are fun.
Used to come here when I lived in the area and it hasn't changed a bit. One of the best brunch spots in Chicago. Their drinks are always good. I love their breakfast burritos and corned beef hash but I've never been disappointed with any choice. Make sure to bring money because it's CASH ONLY but they do have a ATM available.
Tweet’s brunch is over-the-top fresh and delicious, and the vibe so flirtatious and FUN! All the staff are upbeat and care-taking, and it just has the best music and atmosphere. I started with the elderflower Prosecco mint spritzer—super refreshing, flavorful and light (unbelievable bartending) and my wife had fresh squeeze OJ YUM. The asparagus shallot omelette with hash browns and breakfast burrito were divine! I soooo wish this place was in our home town and we will be back every time we visit Chicago! Thanks lovelies!!!
Went for a friend's birthday brunch. They were able to seat our party of 12 and Rex was the best! We went to the bar before and after and everyone was amazing. Friendly place, excellent food. We were even served Malort shots by the owner! Best brunch in a long time.
Great brunch, lots of options, extremely friendly, helpful service. And a fantastic cocktail menu. A real neighborhood gem!
Great cozy brunch spot! First time trying this place but I will be returning. Complimentary breakfast pastry when sat, fresh fruit sides, and a fun drink menu. My friends and I love brunch so we all had our own meal and table French toast to share. Chilaquiles is one of my go-tos and they did a great job. It had a lot of flavor and the serving size in generous. Can't wait to go back and try new things!
Visiting Chicago to see some friends and good golly hosh bagosh this place was AMAZING. So vegetarian friendly, super friendly service, clean and comfy atmosphere, and incredible food. If you can only go to one place for food in Chicago...come here. Come. Here.
My running group goes here whenever we can. Frontrunners Chicago loves Tweet, it's selection of food and friendly staff is what brings us back constantly. Highly recommend.
The food was decent. Was very crowded for the weekend, yet the service was nice. They did have a nice waiting area, and you can order drinks at the bar. I would try this place again, though. BUMMER that they don't give you any refills on the coffee, though!
Our waiter was amazing & the drinks were good; however, the manager soured the experience. We had literally just received our checks & were figuring out who would pay because they only take cash. She came to the table and asked if we were waiting for anything else. We said no & she responded Yeah because plenty of ppl are waiting for tables rudely and walked off. The food isn't great enough for me to overlook rudeness & there's nothing to be done about it bc she's the manager. She could've delivered the same message with kindness and it would've been received. None of us will go back or recommend it to anyone.
Tweet is an amazing place to eat. The food is excellent, the selection is huge, and the staff is friendly and efficient. It is our favorite place to eat when we visit our daughter. It has our highest recommendations.
First I'd like to mention our server he was very kind and I'm sorry, I don't recall his name However I work as a server also at Lou Malnati's pizzeria and he was just making sure things we all good and made sure we were well-taken care of Thank you we had a party of 9 people my brother sister-in-law and my nephews I haven't seen them in 7 years, so they were in on a short visit for work-related, so I recommend tweet for breakfast I loved them so much I'm sad to say they have changed quite a bit and not for the better. So we waited an hour for our table and we were in no rush so my sister-in-law and I were going to chat and enjoy seeing one another and have a few Bloody Marys our server was quite busy, so I went to the bar and got 2 more Bloody Mary's on my way to the bar the Manger said oh well how much longer are you all going to be you already been here an hour and by that time we'd only been there maybe 45-50mins so I replied to the very rude man and told him, that is not Proper Restaurant Etiquette and to be quite honest it was outright RUDE! The food was ok nothing to brag about as I had biscuits and gravy with 2 scrambled eggs which I didn't get until I was almost done. Wow lol 😆
Tweet is the definition of brunch. I want to bring everyone I love here. The service is always outstanding. The food is great, although I didn’t like their vegan breakfast burrito- and the vibe of is so likable it’s hard to walk away disappointed. And the complimentary coffee cake -come on!
