Great location, great food, great experience. Can't go wrong with Hexe.
The atmosphere here is amazing. I have been here several times and every time the staff has been amazing. The pastries are fresh and delicious and the espresso is very good. I highly recommend checking this place out and unlike many cafes it is open into the evening.
Best coffee shop in Chicago, don't skip the pastries or the cocktails either. Try the new Frozen cocktail!
Sick coffee shop! It was extremely lively and had plenty of baked goods to pair with your coffee. I ordered a lavender latte with a blackberry and lemon croissant! Definitely will be back
An understated and alternative, spooky haunt for coffee and delicious treats. The ambiance is quiet and conducive of relaxed conversations or work/study.
Love the patio, nice menu, friendly staff good eats
Tasty coffee and bagels/sandwiches. Big selection of beer, alcoholic drinks and bites. Love their outdoor seating area and that they serve coffee all day. Always a fast and very friendly service
Love Hexe. the barrel aged cold brew is amazing, they make excellent lattes, one of the best vegan sandwiches in Chicago (roasted mushroom and red pepper, etc.) and they made one of the best Irish Coffee cocktails I've had that I could enjoy on their patio listening to Italian folk music. Plus, their building is beautiful and decor is whimsical gothic. I really enjoy sipping coffee and walking around looking at all the framed pieces inside.
Awesome coffee and great service! The beans are great too 🤌
Extremely good espresso shots - deeply flavored and a few notches above others I’ve had. Their drip coffee was good too, though too hot so I had to wait for it to cool to really taste the flavors of the beans. Didn’t get any baked goods but I’d come back to try those.
One of my pet peeves of Chicago is that most coffee shops close early. For students like me, caffeine and ambiance are everything. Today, I searched for a coffee shop that did not close at 3 PM like most, and I came across this gem. I found the place inviting, with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. I ordered a lavender chocolate latte. Few shops have lavender-flavored coffee, and I’m glad this place has its own— house-made. I will be back as they close at 7:30 PM daily.
They have a delicious hazelnut latte! Friendly baristas and overall a great vibe. I can't wait to visit in the summer and enjoy their outdoor patio. FYI it's not a quiet place to study, bring headphones! It's a great place to meet up with friends to catch up however!
The line was out the door. Waited 20 minutes to have orders taken. Then they made an error with the order. Need to find baristas who are willing to visit less and make the drinks. Sad!
Very busy on this Saturday afternoon. Nice space, not as cool as it’s vibe. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Always a fan of an on-site roaster.
Good coffee and a nice atmosphere. Wasn’t to fond of the beans I got though.
+1 for the tea selection in addition to the typical array of espresso drinks and coffee. There is also beer if you imbibe (I have not tried though). Quick service and good mocha lattes (it veers more towards dark chocolate, which I appreciate). Outdoor seating is excellent and indoor seating is generally always available. Love that the inside and out is designed similar to Lathrop Homes nearby - that makes it feel like a real neighborhood staple.
Out of this world croissant and good espresso. Fun vibe inside
Biscuit breakfast sandwich was out of control. I want to go back for a pastry or cocktail. The space was nice but absolutely packed.
Excellent coffee and pastries, but not a fan of the decor, especially the taxedermy giant tarantulas.
The coffee seems great. My wife loves it. I love the muffins myself. I need to go at night now to try the drinks.
