Nice and not too crowded, there’s an outdoor area at the back with plenty of outlets and additional seating. I got the Mayan mocha latte, which was spicy when I swallowed it, but it was a nice punch
The good: great baristas, wonderful unique drink. Love the atmosphere too! The bad: the issue someone mentioned from *seven* years ago with the wifi is still an issue. I came in specifically to work and was quite frustrated to find out I couldn't get internet access despite there only being maybe 7 other people there. The baristas were super helpful and understanding, gave several suggestions, it was sincerely appreciated. It's misleading to say you have wifi when it stops working so easily and there is no solution. I sincerely hope ownership will prioritize this at some point and upgrade their network because it was a great place otherwise.

This is our go-to neighborhood coffee place! The staff is always super friendly and the coffee and pastries are delicious! They also sell bags of Dark Matter coffee beans if you’re looking to make some at home.
Always the best coffee at dark matter. This location has a nice outdoor sitting area. The music selection is great too for working.
Overall good vibes to be at. The mocha was alright though. I would try something else next time I'm there.
Highly Recommend: coffee drinks here are really good. Have not had a bad drink here yet. They do get busy and for some reason the line sometimes moves really slow at the checkout probably because whoever is at the checkout sometimes pours drinks and gets food right away, but once order is in they make the drink pretty fast.

OMG this Chocolate City iced coffee is outstanding!! Smooth, flavorful and at a great price. Nice decor and a decent amount of seating inside. Loud music, but I visited on a Saturday so it may not be like that all the time. Great patio in the back with several picnic benches (it’s super quiet back there and there’s a few outlets).
Great coffee, really wonderful specialty lattes. Will get you the caffeine fix you need, and is a great place to sit and work or pop in for a quick to go coffee! I usually am between the agave latte and the Mayan mocha
It was my first time and I really liked this place, I had a special coffee the "gingersnap trainwreck that was very tasty"(it took a while to be ready, almost 10 minutes), and I ate a croissant that was served to me cold (I think could have warmed up a bit) but it was tasty too. I intend to go back, I think it's worth it.
A bit busy and hectic. Not the best sit down place. But best coffee.

Favorite Cafe Miel (aka a latte) in Chicago! I will go out of my way to make a stop here!
