A pleasant surprise. First time in Chicago and just looked for something independent looking near where I am for work. Nicely roasted beans for espresso drinks. Had a flat white and a perfectly good blueberry muffin. Will be back in the morning to try a pour over of one of their more complex roasts.

Had a really good chip of pourover coffee at Big Shoulders Coffee. They have a very friendly staff who helped me choose a coffee selection. I would recommend this place to others!

The little microwave sandwich thing was surprisingly tasty for a quick breakfast but the latte ended up getting dropped in the trash. They only have 8oz and 16oz which is a bit unusual for the ratios of espresso and milk (typically 12oz cups) so that may have been part of it but the taste was pretty bad.

The Turkey Sausage Breakfast Sandwich is fantastic (especially with the spicy mayo)

Me and my friend have to meet in Congress Pkwyso decided to wait while havinh a cup of coffee... barista asked me if I wanted a pour over coz he said it has better flavor so I did go for it since I have all the time to wait. It didn't take that much time, just a few mins and its done.

I’ve been walking past this place to work everyday for the past few months and have wanted to stop in. Happy to report it was awesome! Coffee was great and it felt good to support a local Chicago spot. Really enjoyed the artwork as well (forgot to take a picture). I know they have a couple locations around town, so will look to try a another one next!

!!!THE OWNER DOESNT CARE ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH!!! Tim, the owner who interviewed and hired my friend, does NOT care if you try to heal your mental health. He WRONGFULLY terminated someone I personally know for having a mental health crisis. Anything to not pay out unemployment, huh? You should be ashamed.

Great coffee, if you happen to order a tea, be prepared to wait 4 minutes for it to brew, no cheepie tea bags here! XD

Big Shoulders is a great shop, with lovely kind baristas and very good coffee. Get the cardamom latte, iced. Sadly, and strangely, they are not open on the weekend. You'll have to suffer Starbucks or Peet's if you're looking for coffee on a Saturday or Sunday.

Ordered a Macchiato with whole milk foam. $4.28. Very sour. Don't know what kind bean they used to make it so sour. Also it came in a paper cup. No aroma. Not impressed.

If you're looking for a good cup of coffee in Chicago, you should stop at Big Shoulders. There's a reason they're rated one of the top roasters in the country. Whether you're looking for something fancy like a cortado or just a box of fast drip to take back to the office, you can't go wrong with Big Shoulders.

Great coffee shop! Very clean with friendly staff who suggested a great drink. I got an Iced Horchata Latte by the way which was fantastic! Not too sweet, but not overepowered by the great tasting coffee; very much recommend! Thanks for not judging my request for a coffee suggestion in a COFFEE shop too harshly🤣 Will definitely be back.
