Poke, açaí bowl, and pork belly: breathtaking! Yum!
Hina Rae's Cafe is a nice local restaurant in Waimea Kauai. Breakfast waffles and waffle sandwiches are good. Indoor dining and take out.
The service was good. The gal who took my order was nice and able to answer all my questions. First thing- the granola is NOT gluten free, but they allow you to sub extra nuts or chia. Kind of a bummer since it is on every bowl! Unfortunately, the bowl was not to my liking. The base is clearly pre-portioned and frozen thus giving it an iced texture. I prefer a smooth, thick but creamy texture. It was so hard when my husband took his first bite he flung the toppings all over. Overall a real bummer since the bowl coat 16$.
We love the food here! Savory and sweet, breakfast and lunch. Clean and modern feel with comfort food feel and rich flavors. Yum!
Waffle breakfast sandwich is a 10!
The pork belly was really yummy. The acai bowls are good, the halo halo is so good one my favorites. Their ingredients are always fresh, if you go during the lunch rush there can be a long wait.
We come here for the acai bowls. My favorite so far is The Buzz. The acai bowl in my picture is Cacao Craze, which was also very good. Great flavors and presentation. I gave a 4 for the atmosphere just because it's a small building so it's hard for many people to stay and eat their food. But for the size, they did a great job and making it work.
All I have to say is that this was the best açai bowl I have ever tasted! Not overly sweet like the açai bowls you find on the 9th island, which is where I'm from. I ordered the Farmers Market açai bowl and added purple sweet potato, a delight to have because we can't get that back home either. The girls working the front were also very sweet.
Always amazing
Amazing service and the best waffle EVER!
Complete rip off, we spent $50 and asked for a little bit more granola, and they wanted to charge me $1.50 for an inch of granola. Absolutely horrible customer service, the staff needs training, and the prices are not worth the value provided.
Best poke I’ve had on the island. I got the poke bowl with spicy mayo, it came with perfectly cooked brown rice seasoned with furikake and a side of wakame. Crazy delicious.
Love it. Great food. Nice place !!
Was staying in Waikoloa and got an itch for an acai bowl so drove up. This place was great! Acai bowl was one of the best I have had. My daughter loved her waffle and my son ate his whole waffle breakfast sandwich and half a croissant sandwich too (he is a very picky eater). Owner was super friendly, and told us to expect a 15 min wait since the kitchen was busy. No problem at all, they have books for kids and food was worth the short wait.
Tasty poke bowls and drinks. Still all take out, can’t sit down inside. Was worth the trip from Kona.
So delicious. My partner had the pork belly bowl with kimchi cucumbers and was in heaven. He said it was the best meal he has had in all of our trips to Hawaii. I had the mixed açaí/pitaya bowl and it was also really good. Highly recommend this spot!
I love the Poi Waffle with coconut chips whipped cream. Try the thai tea boba.
Tried this place on a whim as I was starving and was on the way to Wai’pio Valley Honestly, super surprised by the flavor of the Get In My Belly bowl. The dish name is accurate. You will want it in your belly. Nice portion and nice juicy pork belly! I think because of Covid they only had take out option at the time of my visit I. 12/2021
Worst coffee ever- undrinkable. Ordered a kona coffee iced mocha with almond milk. Near closing time - rather than almond milk order apparently made with regular milk, super sweet, and didn't appear to have any coffee??? Wanted to support local shops. Should have gone to Starbucks! Ended up throwing it away.
Poor customer service and they messed up our orders. Açaí bowl was decent but I could have made the same thing at home. They failed to mention that they had no local tropical fruit when I ordered
