Beautiful grounds and beach. Super fun multi-level pools with slides and lazy river features. Hotel was under construction/ renovation when we were there so there was some additional noise but it was not terribly disruptive. All staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The hotel floor we were in was recently renovated (2023). It's spacious and the bathroom is beautiful and relaxing. Staff was very helpful. The water slides and lazy river made for fun family time. We went in April spring break and the pool and beach never felt crowded. The spa and shopping area make it easy to get items if you don't plan on leaving the property. We're definitely returning soon!

My wife and I visited the Grand Wailea for 5 days. This is a really nice hotel, not a resort. The amenities themselves are great, but outdated. It is an older hotel, everything has a little tarnish on it. However, the staff does a great job at keeping things clean and the pool area is quite nice (8/10 on amenities). The hotel is sprawling and there are tons of beds available and plenty room for all the guests as well (10/10 on availability). Staff is also awesome, most everyone will bend over backwards to make sure you enjoy your stay (10/10 on staff). HOWEVER, the food is horrible. And this is where we go from a resort to just a really nice hotel. The Grand Wailea is expensive for the sake of being expensive. We don't have a problem spending money, we are New Yorkers after-all. But the food at this hotel was miserable. It was overpriced cafeteria food. We went to Humu, I ordered a $90 strip steak that looked like it was microwaved. Probably cooked on a flat top where they cook eggs. No grill marks. Just horrible. At the pool, we ordered lunch a few times and it was no better. Overpriced sandwiches that looked like a high school lunch, full of mayo and a sad looking salad. The food was so bad, it ruined the trip. We constantly found ourselves having to plan leaving the resort, which is quite secluded by the way, multiples times per day either for snacks or lunch / dinner. On cuisine, this hotel gets 0/10. Construction was another issue. The hotel is undergoing some extensive upgrades. At time of writing (May 2023), construction is going at all hours of the day. Constant noise and banging. For a hotel of this caliber, they should have just temporarily closed instead of putting guests through all the mayhem. Again, you can't enjoy the pool and beach with the constant noise. For a hotel that charges almost $1K+ per night, I was thoroughly disappointed. We used the amenities and made the most of it. But the food was so bad. It is clear this hotel is geared towards an

This property has declined greatly and is not up to their standard of several years ago when it was truly magnificent. Issues with overall property, service and dining, spa, and pool. Maintenance/renovations going on during our entire stay, which while abundantly necessary, would have changed our plans if we had been informed. There are many high-end properties nearby - go there instead.

Can’t say enough great things about this resort. The staff is absolutely amazing! We stayed in a Royal Suite which I highly recommend if you can book it. Fair amount of construction going on but not disruptive. The only disappointing thing is the water elevator is no longer in operation…supposedly can’t get parts. My son volunteered our machine shop to repair it for them….bless his heart. Everything else at this resort is top notch!

Just finished a 4 day/3 night visit to the Grand Wailea and wanted to share our experience. 1) Customer service was excellent. Michelle at checkin definitely set the tone for very cheerful and accommodating service when she happily had our 2 queen ocean view room ready for us upon arrival at 11AM. The pleasant and accommodating service stayed true throughout the stay and really made you feel like a welcomed guest rather than a bother or annoyance like most other hotels service seems to convey now. 2) Location is unmatched. Beach is easily accessible and hotel will set up chairs and umbrellas for you however no food service out there. Walkable to many great restaurants and shops along the beach walk. 3) Lots to do. Yoga classes, snorkel equipment, scuba classes, bikes, lazy river, etc Pools are fantastic and best on island when fully open however we were a bit taken back to be told at check-in the Grotto, grotto bar, all but 1 small kid accessible hot tub, part of lazy river, water elevator and more were closed for renovations. They also only had 1 sit down restaurant available as other were closed for renovations which made it quite difficult for families to eat out on property in the evening. Recommendations by staff were to order room service which was not the answer we were looking for. I’m glad to see the hotel making changes however none of the areas closed were mentioned at the time of booking (no notice on website) and yet you pay full spring break prices as well as full daily resort fee. In my opinion, if not all the resort amenities are available and open, and guests will have to endure some inconveniences due to construction, they should not be paying the full resort fee or room rate. And it should be noted at time of booking exactly will be closed as it could impact a families decision to stay there. 4) Rooms are underwhelming and feel smaller than advertised and very outdated. At $1400 a night for a 2 queen/ocean view you expect the furnishings an

Absolutely beautiful resort. High end. Gorgeous updated room. Compared to the Aluani Disney where we stayed In Honolulu this place is amazing. THIS is what every resort should strive to be. Don’t get me wrong it’s expensive BUT you get what you pay for.

Dear Wailea Hotel, I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service that my family and I received during our recent stay at your hotel. We were thoroughly impressed with the level of professionalism, attention to detail, and warmth displayed by your staff, and it truly made our stay a memorable one. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted warmly by the front desk staff who promptly checked us in and gave us a detailed tour of the property. Throughout our stay, every member of your team went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were met and our stay was comfortable. The accommodations were outstanding - our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed. The amenities provided were impressive, and we enjoyed the variety of food and beverage options available. We cannot thank you enough for making our stay at Wailea Hotel such a pleasant one. After staying at the Four Seasons last week, and paying a similar price, $6000 for 4 nights and our son that lives in the area wanted to come visit with us at the pool and these clowns wanted to charge us $100 a night to our room and backdating until our check on 3 nights ago. $400 for our son to come to the pool. Never stay here again

This is an amazing hotel. We stay there for a week for a family vacation. The biggest highlight is the connected pools - my son had enormous fun and play until the last minute every time. The beach is awesome too - nice sand and good water. I also encounter a giant sea turtle when I swim in the sea. The entertainment provided by this hotel is incomparable. The view of this hotel is amazing. We can see the moloniki crater from the breakfast place. Also a beautiful island from our balcony. The view is super beautiful with coconut trees and blue sea and flowers and bird chirps. The food quality is high. We are upgraded to the club level of Napua garden. There are free breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea for free. We usually have breakfast and the salmon and fruits are amazing. The fruits are extremely beautiful and cut and prepared in a prime way. The salmon is also super fresh and cut to big and beautiful slices. I love the breakfast. The luau in this hotel is beautiful. The setup is amazing with local decorations and music. Sitting there to enjoy the local show with a dinner is luxury. The show is beautiful and music and singers are amazing. Bringing you into a different world. Food is average. They serve a lot of food but I would rather less but higher quality. Especially the roasted pork- I would hope pieces with skin :) The only two things I would be picky about is the service and price. The service is generally good but not 100%. Probably because we went during a busy week. We checked in using phone app but hotel staff seem not to know this and this actually takes us more time. The hotel price is not cheap at all. I would recommend come in a off season if you can.

The property is beautiful and has a lot of options. Unfortunately if you need help from the staff for anything, it is less than satisfactory. I feel for the price of this property, you can get far better service at other resorts. Wish it would have been a better experience.

I've heard it said that this place will try to nickel and dime you at every turn, but I think that is inaccurate. Nickels and dimes are far too small of denominations! A $50 daily resort fee here, a daily $65(!) Valet parking fee, the continental breakfast they used to offer is no more, now the breakfast buffet for 2 adults and 3 kids under 10 will cost you about $200 with tip. (Kids under 5 used to be free, and $19 for diamond status adults, instead they just give diamond members a $50 food and drink credit each day, and that didn't go very far) So after paying so much, you might expect some top tier luxury rooms (they aren't, they were pretty standard) and some amazing amenities, well here's the pros and cons of the rest of the stay and amenities... Pros: The location. Wailea Beach is stellar. Great for chilling, kids, swimming, and even has a beautiful red for snorkeling, and a lovely trail that runs along the beachfront. (You'll be grateful that this trail is beautiful if you decide to park a mile south for free to avoid the extortion scheme of the hotel parking) The pools are definitely nice, basically a mini-water park. The grounds are lovely, they even have a tropical fruit garden which my wife loved. Cons: Over the years, while raising prices, they have also slashed amenities. If you have read online about their giant kid-friendly area, "the rock," for example, that is no more. Many amenities were unavailable, the swim-up bar, the cave pool/spa, the water elevator... All under construction. The hours for the slides are pretty restrictive, (10:30-5) and the height limits on some slides can be a bummer for kids under 48". No laundry. Unless you want to pay $5-10 per article of clothing! I read on some old trip advisor forum that the hotel used to offer free laundry service to guests asking where the nearest laundromat is. Gone are those days, I was told "5 miles away." Meh: Having eaten at the humuhumu restaurant, the botero lounge, the poolside grill, the bre

If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would. Breathtaking views from every angle. We stayed in the Chapel Lawn area and the Chapel is gorgeous. Our room was perfect. Housekeeping even left me some Grand Wailea jewelry bags because I forgot mine and my jewelry was just laid out on the countertop 🫣 The beach in front of the resort was also perfect. 🌊The longest part of getting there, was walking from your room. Because the Grand Wailea is HUGE! 🤩 The Botero lounge was our favorite spot outside of our room. Its at the center of the main lobby area and it set the tone for the evening. We were so lucky to get the same waitress both times we visited. Her name is Samantha and she’s a gem. It was so beautiful there and the sunset was brilliant. 10/10 would recommend!! Enjoy! 🌺

Truly the best place that I have ever stayed at. The staff was excellent and professional. The amenities were incredible, starting with the multiple pools. The attention to detail by the Grand Wailea is amazing from the moment you arrive at the resort. I look forward to staying at the Grand Wailea on my next visit to Maui.
