Still dreaming about that cookie dough ice cream.
I really want to rate this a FIVE. Because truly the ice cream is amazingly delicious. And the waffle cones!! Crunchy, fresh and delightful.... especially the chocolate dipped. However the girl behind the counter! So, so very rude. However, the ice cream was yummy enough to come back a few days later. Sadly, same rude young lady. They were out of the yummy one I had on my first visit. And because "no samples!" I ended up leaving with no treat. Just doesn't seem like smart business. Treating your customers rudely and not being willing to help them find something yummy. Hire some great people Lapperts, because truly.....your ice cream is DELICIOUS!
Delicious ice cream, but cleanliness is severely lacking and customer service was non-existent. In case training didn't cover this, it is rude to stand with a put-off look on your face and slap your hands against your legs while waiting for a customer to look at all the flavors and then make their choice.
Listen, you're not coming here for the service, which is pretty bad. Coming from the service industry I am always friendly and chatty with other service industry workers, but it doesn't really make a difference here. I feel like tourists can be aggravating though so - I get it. The ice cream is absolutely incredible - so i'll keep going back, haha.
I just love the Kauai pie in a waffle cone.
Located in the plaza next to a super market. Super crowded. The timings mentioned in google are different as it was open past 8pm in December. They ran out of waffle cones which I wanted. The ice cream tastes good. We tried vanilla madadamia nut which was great.. it was an acquired taste.. if you like the nut then this will be good for you.. but it gave a oily taste at the end. The other one was Kauai pie – too dark for my liking.
A must-try ice cream spot in Hawaii. Really good amount of flavors like coconut pineapple and macadamia nut. Would go again.
We got there at 745pm, sign on the window says they close at 8pm. Lady inside saw us but ignored us. Disappointing.
We got a 2-scoop waffle cone ice cream. The Mini Peanut Butter and Fudge was good. The coffee flavored one was really weak, so I would recommend trying something else.
Ice cream is absolutley amazing HOWEVER the employees should definitely clean their hands (wash them or at least use hand sanitizer) before each customer. One of the girls in there today was touching her nose allot with her fingers, touching cash because that's all they accepted today, not cleanings her hands, touching the cups and spoons, etc. They should do better not just for their health but for health of your customers as well. If it wasn't for that then I'd give you five stars.
I’ve been to Lappert’s several times over the past 10 years. This last time gave everyone a bellyache and was nothing like it was before. Menu was half covered with tape 1/3 of the flavours were out of stock, even the whip cream looked I whipped. Looks like a chain with no quality management and staffing issues.
They make the cones! And they were fresh too. The banana fudge and macadamia nuts were great!
Fantastic ice cream place, have been multiple times. Kona Lava Java was the winner for me, excellent balance of coffee and chocolate flavours. I was told it was the crowd favourite and I can see why! Also very good flavours include the pineapple cake flavour, caramel coconut macadamia, and chocolate (a very rich chocolate). Try it in a cup or a delicious in-store made waffle cone.
We were served melting ice cream. When we pointed it out to the young lady who served us, she simply stated "That freezer sometimes does that" we should have left then but decided to try it. The only positive note is that the flavor was good.

Would think when a family of four spends $50 on ice cream they would allow one to sample a flavor However, rude staff said "No samples." However at another location they gladly provided multiple samples without hesitation.
Rich and well balanced Ice cream. The matcha was excellent and Ube was great too. Small servings, but you can get a split scoop which is nice. Would definitely come back.
Absolutely rude and unprofessional service from the two people (both women) who were serving customers at the store. Their whole body language was as if they hated anybody coming into the store. This happened at 2.30pm on June 6th, 2022. Why do such people bother working with a customer service role? Terrible!
Lappert’s Hawaii is the real deal! Delicious ice cream in many wonderful flavors not commonly available on the mainland featuring coconut, macadamia nuts, white chocolate, pineapple, and other delicious varieties. My favorite is to get the ice cream in one of the many varieties of chocolate dipped waffle cones. Two scoops so I can get two flavors. Nothing is more refreshing on a humid hot day than a couple of scoops of ice cream in a chocolate cone!
Great ice cream! Quick service. If I hate customers had a face, it would be the two young women in there yesterday. Sorry for them...
