First time I came, had an awesome Turmeric latte. Second time, I grabbed a sandwich and sat down to read emails. The manager came over to interrogate me on why I haven’t paid yet even though I was sitting peacefully within the store? Pretty strange and uncomfortable.

NO ARTIFICAL SWEETENERS! (I am pre-diabetic) Please note that stevia is not FDA approved. In fact there are warnings that consumption of "whole leaf" stevia can be harmful. Aspartame and other sweeteners have been tested by the FDA and found to be safe. I was very disappointed that I couldn't get my favorite drink. I had to go elsewhere.

Great coffee, friendly staff. Pastries and baked goods are out of this world, and since I only eat carbs once a week, this is a go-to place for a splurge.

Comes with a bar in the evening. Great drinks by a lady bartender who knows what she is doing.

The turmic coffee was very tasty and the quiche delicious! Haven't been there in years and enjoyed revisiting. Parking in the municipal lot is easy even at 1pm.

Coffee shop by day, cocktail bar by night 🌙 The Kaimuki staple café, Coffee Talk recently rebranded as Talk Kaimuki and launched their new cocktail service from Thursday-Saturday night. Talk Kaimuki offers coffee-house inspired and original cocktail creations, along with a delicious selection of bar bites 🍸✨ Some of the highlights of my experience were the “No Talkie Before Coffee” and “Moshi Moshi” cocktails. They also offer some yummy mocktail creations! Whatever you do, do not leave without eating their house-made popcorn and grilled cheese— I was not expecting their food to pop off like that 🤤👌🏼

Beware: Not allergen/dietary restriction friendly or knowledgeable. My second time visiting, I asked for a non-dairy recommendation. The employee suggested a matcha drink with oat milk instead of dairy milk. A few sips in, I realized it tasted like it had dairy, but I wasn't certain. I took it up to the counter and asked (a different worker) if it could potentially have dairy, and she said the matcha powder has dairy. So even if it was made with oat milk (and it didn't taste like it), it would still have dairy. Thankfully I was only a few sips in so it wasn't enough to make me sick, but it was disappointing that I had a whole conversation when ordering about having a non-dairy drink and was still given a drink with dairy... I get the sense based on the very limited menu that this place just generally isn't that conscious of the fact that some people can't or don't consume some foods. The last time I was there, the employee who helped me struggled to come up with a non-dairy option when I asked for a recommendation. On the plus side, the employees are friendly. They did make me a new drink for no charge. Overall, the menu is just really limited to people with no dietary restrictions though. If you have dietary restrictions, be cautious at this establishment. They have about 2 vegan food options on the menu (oat cake and acai bowl). The acai bowl is okay but pretty overpriced for what it is. $20 for a coffee and a small acai bowl is a bit steep. I haven't tried the oat cake, but it looks tasty. Cute local place with a fun busy atmosphere, but room to grow!

Great food and atmosphere, sort of a chique vibe. Enjoyed and recommend the veggie quiche, breakfast sandwich, and matcha scone. Coffee was delicious. Will return!

A must go! We stopped for drinks and were so impressed with their extensive craft cocktail menu and welcoming staff. Brittany and Jerrell were such gems. They not only made us great drinks but we all had the loveliest conversation. We loved it so much we went back the next morning for brunch! Liz, the owner, was so kind and warm. We had the most delicious pastries, sandwiches, and coffees. Overall a wonderful place with wonderful people!

This is a great coffee shop with really good flavors. There is room to just sit back and enjoy your morning coffee which is always fun and relaxing. I recommend if you’re in the area.

The building is pretty nice, lots of indoor seating and the staff is nice. I’ve gotten a few cappuccinos here, and they’ve all been pretty mediocre. No outside food allowed, kind of a bummer. If you like flavored lattes, they seemingly have them all. Would recommend for studying, would not recommend for coffee lovers.

Super unique place that's been a staple of the area for 20+ years. This place was hipster before hipster was hip. Unique coffees, good small food items (this was the place that introduced me to lox), friendly staff, plus unique and liberal atmosphere. Groups meet for book discussions here, and this is one of the few places people can still feel comfortable working on a laptop. If you dine in, your coffee comes in sometimes cute mugs. Often busy, but well worth checking out!
