Started getting 16 oz ribeye, baked potato, garlic toast, and simple salad with a very good Ranch dressing, 'to go' during COVID when dining area was closed and make two meals Now get it 2-3 times a month. Consistently EXCELLENT.

FIVE SATRS. We eat out often and have begun reviewing to document our Date Nights. This is our first 5 Star given!! We were hungry in Thomson and looking for a yummy dinner place, well, we found it here at Bob’s Cafe. Wow. I must admit I was surprised as we walked walked in… We found a traditional gas station-convenient store-bait and tackle stop buuut with a secret in the back. The staff were warm and inviting, and the food was fresh and well cooked. The seasoning were balanced and oil was light; the kitchen had good timing and clean presentation. We ordered a medley of food: • Jalapeño-Bacon hush puppies • Fried Green Beans • Yingling Beer (served in a frosted mug) • Grilled catfish with peppers & onions • Traditional Hushpuppies • Potato Salad • Classic Hamburger (fully dressed with no cheese) • Fresh Bean Salad • Fried Scallops (thin-lovely-seasoned “batter”) EVERY ITEM WAS PERFECT AND DELICIOUS! If I added any advise it would be to swap their thin pre-patty burger with a simple but tasty smash burger. However, the burger patty they offer was NOT dry or over cooked and the fresh cut toppings went well with it. Iffffff they did a fresh ground smash burger this place would be unstoppable. But if they wish to stay with their product a double patty would help the burger be more impressive. This was and enjoyable adventure with hints of an exclusive Speak Easy.

It's awesome to have such great food so close to home - whether for a dinner out (without having to go all the way to Thomson or farther) or a Thursday/Friday pickup on the way back from work. Can't recommend enough the ribeye or the catfish dinner. The staff are kind, polite, and genuine. Expect a bit of a wait, but only because this is such a popular local spot (parking can be a bit hectic as well, but is well worth it).

Trying to support local so this was on our our list of places to visit...Visited here on 9/4/21. We ordered mozzarella sticks, a chicken sandwich basket, catfish fillet both grilled and fried, and grilled shrimp. We understood going in that this is not a fast food establishment and that it's cooked to order...however it took 1 1/2 hours to get our food. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they are cooked in the same grease as the fish, and they were still cold in the middle. Then came our main course. The chicken was a frozen pressed chicken patty (much like you get from a school lunch)....which was still cold in the middle. The catfish both grilled and fried was okay, the grilled shrimp was coated in a seasoning which was okay, but extremely oily. Then came check out...the two older ladies that check you out were discussing a current news event and proceeded to continue their conversation which included several cuss words in front of our family with no regard to their language. Sorry but you have lost our business, we will not be returning.

Hidden Gem! Great food comes tucked behind a secret door in a gas station! There is not a better place in the CSRA to get fried catfish! Also try the steak and the flavor is on time! It’s casual, country and feels like mommas back there in the kitchen cookin it all up for you!

Called and put on hold. Could hear them talk and never picked up phone for our order. What classless business. Wil never buy anything from them.

So this is a gas station. The first time I drove by it I thought it was abandoned. Then someone told me they have the best steak around. Yeah right. At an abandoned gas station that I wasn't even sure sold gas. So we went and ordered salmon, ribeye, and crab legs. As I was looking around I was reassuring my stomach that everything was going to be okay. It turns out it wasn't okay, it was more along the lines of amazing. I'm going to go back probably once a week now. Bob's Cafe has THE BEST food around. Maybe even the best I've ever had.

We heard about this place while camping at Raysville campground on Clark Hill lake. First of all this place is well off the beaten path and I mean in the middle of nowhere. Now get this, when you walk in, you walk into a bait store. That's right, a bait store. Then you come to this little single door and walk through that into the restaurant. Nothing fancy, concrete floors and old tables. But the food, man was it good. started out with the jalapeno hush puppies. I don't even like hush puppies, but I could eat these every day. Then I had the 16oz ribeye (medium rare) with loaded baked potato and salad $18.99. Steak cooked to perfection and was great. Potato cooked just right and the ranch dressing was home made and great. You can't beat the price for a meal this good. Go. If you are ever in the neighborhood (and I don't know why you would be) unless you camp and fish Clark hill lake. Opens at 4 and stays packed out, oh and you take your ticket back out to the store and pay at the bait shop counter. Check my pics out.
