New menu! My daughters are pescetarian, and they love it because there are lots of options to choose from. The filet is amazing! Best food in the Boro! Incomparable dining experience💕
As I am sitting here in the parking lot I am very disappointed in the service that was not given as I sat at the table for well over ten minutes after being seated just waiting for someone to take my drink order... They were not busy so not quite sure what the problem was maybe I didn't look the part. In any case will not be returning to this shady establishment....
My wife and I sampled the Sugar Magnolia shrimp and grits while at the Jekyll Island shrimp and grits festival and thought I would look them up while staying in Statesboro. Although there was plenty of outdoor and indoor seating , I sat at the bar, and the bartender Amanda was professional, helpful, and prompt. The decor is somewhat rustic, and there was a good vibe with several friendly patrons. I had the cheese tray and pork chop with brussels sprouts.
Absolutely fantastic place! The best food, and hands down the best staff and bartenders in any restaurant anywhere around! Sugar Magnolia is my favorite place to go!!!
How is it we have never been here?! We will definitely be back! Shrimp and grits, French Toast, Waffle Sandwich, Crème brûlée all excellent!
The pasta and salmon were delicious, seasoned well, and the service was great!
I have eaten here 3 times now and have gotten sick every time. I tried different things every time to ensure it wasn’t just a bad batch. Service is always SO slow whether they are busy or not. I will never be returning and warn people to be careful when eating here.
My wife and I enjoyed a Valentines dinner at Sugar Magnolia. This was a fantastic time as we were met by excellent staff. Our server explained the menu with excellence. The food was wonderful. The service excellent. Caroline Joyner has certainly created a five star restaurant.
While the employees are super nice, it's a tad bit pricey. The espresso is VERY tiny. There is lactose free options for people who are lactose intolerant for the coffee, however. The strawberry cheese cake mini cake was good. There's a lot of space inside. The service is VERY slow despite almost no one being here when I was served. They also wanted nearly $19 for a TINY espresso and Cesar salad
I had to stop in the middle of our brunch to write this review. The atmosphere is amazing, music is spot on. I feel like I’m in Italy. We had the house special and it really amazed us. I really recommend everybody to stop by!!
I wanted to give this place a good review so bad because it’s local but that was the opposite of our experience. First of all the waitress was training another girl (which I totally understand as I have worked in food service, but when as many things have gone wrong with TWO people serving the table as did there is a major problem.) We told the waitress we needed a little time to figure out if we wanted to order a drink. She didn’t come back until 15 minutes later (really not a big deal but it escalated). We order a French 75 and an old fashioned. It takes almost 20 minutes to come out then we order an appetizer, it was your typical spinach and artichoke dip along with the drinks again, no big deal. We finish our crostinis and the waitress asks us if we want a refill on our bread for the dip and we say yes, why not? Well that was an up-charge (which was not mentioned) but honestly it was okay at this point. They come back about 10 minutes later and ask us we want to to order. My husband wanted the creole rigatoni. The waitress asked us if we wanted to sub the crawfish for steak or chicken and he said he wanted to sub it for steak!! Little did he know it was a $38 up-charge (It so happens that I am allergic to shellfish). Promptly after ordering our food the waitress asks if we would like another French 75 and Old fashioned. We say yes… Why not put the drink order in at the same time as our food, so we get it around the same time as the food comes out… Well we finished our food and still our drinks did not come. Finally, we say something to the other waitress named Jessica. Honestly, she seemed more equipped to train the girl our waitress was training but I digress. Our drinks came out about 5 minutes later almost 30 minutes after we initially ordered our drinks. When we get our bill we find out that the “substitution” my husband asked for on his creole pasta was an extra $38 dollars… Our waitress never mentioned a substitution would be this much on the protein. Amazing food, amazing service. Our server Evan was very attentive and personal throughout the whole experience :)
Ate dinner with a large group here and it was amazing. Drinks, appetizers, and dinner was top notch. Pesto pasta and chicken highly recommended. Service was great!
Atmosphere and service was great. Our sandwiches was good but the bread was toasted a little too hard for our liking. Cut the roof of our mouth. Next time we're just request light on the toasting.
My wife had I believe it was a chai latte tea I had the "sweetheart" lavender flavored hot coffee with half-and-half cream. My wife and I shared a cranberry Orange scone , Both drinks and the scone were delicious , the service was good very nice interior and very nice upscale menu
Purchased piece of red velvet cake today for my birthday...not good...very dry. Cheesecake was good.
Great service from a conscientious staff made lunch today at Sugar Magnolia an inviting and wonderful experience. The food was delicious and fresh. I had a California BLT with perfectly ripened avacados on ciabatta bread. My side of sauteed brussel sprouts, seasoned with bacon, was an amazing complement to the BLT. It was all so good that I didn't want it to end there, so I had a blueberry cheesecake bar and a hot caramel latte for dessert. So much goodness packed into so few calories (LOL)! I love this place and I visit whenever I come to Statesboro.
Only serve breakfast on weekends. Food is excellent a little pricey, but if you were able to get food during the week I would travel the 30 miles just for the food. Simple fix offer food during week. Yes it is open during week.
I just had to give sugar magnolia a shout out. My daughter and I have been sick for a little while and we both had to go to the doctors yesterday. She peed on me at her doctors appointment which made a bad day even worse. I was starving and hadn’t eaten in a couple days. I called and ordered a salmon quinoa bowl to go and asked them to bring it out to me since I had a sick baby in the car. They did that happily and also gave me everything I asked for and it was DELICIOUS. The customer service AND the meal made my bad day soooo much better. Plus - my daughter apparently loves salmon 🤣 Do yourself a favor and order extra pickled onion and extra herb dressing - you’ll thank me later!! 🤤🤤
I was very much hoping this place would be a staple for the wife and I. Unfortunately the food took no less than 45 minutes to get to us. It was cool, not correct, and overcooked. When we got our food again (I got a sandwich) you could tell the same bread was used from my previous sandwich , it was difficult to eat because the bread was so hard. *the front-of-house staff was fantastic and understanding, and i made sure to tip well... but the food, Unfortunately, was just not up to par. 2 🌟 for the front-of-house staff and the great coffee*
