I had Sunday breakfast here. I loved the atmosphere. My servers were friendly and professional they kept on checking up with me if I need anything which is always a plus. I had French toast with country potatoes and sunny side up egg with espresso, mocha. My potatoes were seasoned well and my mocho was just as much espresso as I needed, not too much not to little I enjoyed every bit of that espresso. French toast were firm too not too Sabby not too crisp must check this place out and if you are a car lover, they invite car lovers on every 3rd Sunday of the month which also a good experience and way to spend Sunday morning. I went there for soft launch dinner on opening day. I had chicken and waffle. My waffle was delicious thick cooked perfect but my chicken I think should have been a bit on a golden side but it seemed burned although it didn't taste burn but as she served if, my first thought was over cooked chicken but didn't let like it in taste but just to present it for customers, I think it should have been golden crispy fried color. I also believe that this dish should have been $10 or so because it was $14 and didn't come with any sides compare to quesadilla which was $9 or so and had a side with it. I ended up getting half order of country potatoes with my entree and a small regular mocha and my total was $23+ with tip i spent like $27+.
I use to love this place but since it’s moved it is AWFUL!! Food is awful now and it’s very understaffed. It’s obvious whoever the new owner is has no idea how to run a restaurant. So sad
This went from being my favorite local restaurant to a place I avoid at all cost. New owner is terrible.
Hey, guys! It’s Grant. I started working for Calhoun Coffee Co. mid 2019 and cut ties at the beginning of 2023 due to unfortunate circumstances. The company is no longer owned by the girls that everyone knew and loved and the new owner has made no effort to maintain what it was that they had created. Instead, he has allowed the business to become an uncomfortable and unsafe environment for employees and guests alike. From serving spoiled goods to verbally bashing his employees. He dictates how the business is run and has repeatedly allowed misconduct, whether or not he was directly involved. There are still outstanding paychecks that some former employees have been too scared to ask for, but running from the situation accomplishes nothing. I am disclosing this information in an attempt to protect the community that I have had the privilege to serve. Thank you to everyone who was a part of this journey, but unfortunately all things must come to an end.
As a former employee that was in management working at this establishment, absolutely DO NOT come to this coffee shop! Employees DO NOT get paid or wages are WITHHELD completely by the owner. The owner is rarely there and when he is, YELLS at his staff in front of customers.. Understaffed, dirty, and the workers look like they hate their lives (I COMPLETELY understand why). Food orders/drinks may also take over 30 minutes for simple items like a bagel.. don't waste your time here supporting this small business.
Had the bacon, mushroom and cheddar cheese omelette. Love the avocado on top. Food was great, coffee was excellent and staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back!
First time going here since they moved to their new spot... noticed that none of the original people were in there and they had all new workers. It seems every single worker in there hated doing their work and did not have good attitudes at all. waited about 35 minutes for a coffee and a bagel.. When I first came in there were 3 ladys at the front and I walked up and they didnt care to hand me a menu or anything and when I began saying what I wanted she cut me off and gave me a list of all the things that did not have.. Seems if you are going to be opening in a new building that you would make sure you had everything on the menu available.. but I understand things happen.I guess the original owners made enough money that they decided to just sit back and let other people run the business. But , thats how the end of a business starts! having careless people running your business is what will close your shop.!
Parking just awful , too loud for my liking and not very organized for the flow of guest not enough room to eat in comfort . Food was ok.
Wonderful atmosphere, good food and great coffee. Employees were friendly and helpful.
This local shop is really neat. If you are downtown, no need to drive to get coffee and breakfast. Their coffee is amazing! The lady running the counter was helpful and patient as I looked over their menu. Cute place, nice staff and great coffee!
Best coffee in town, my go-to spot when I want something hot like the Breakfast Rice or cold like the Iced Borgia.
Great place, great food, great staff!
The wife and I stopped in for breakfast it was our first time to visit, the staff was helpful and friendly the food was good (Denver omelet) in case your wondering they have a variety of coffee and select few breakfast and lunch items, the service was prompt.
Food is delicious! Need to fix the air conditioning.
Cute little small town coffee shop. Employees were kind and very patient with me, as I was shopping around and asking questions because I'd never been there before. The shop itself was clean, comfortable and had a really cute vibe & aesthetic going on. Indoor and outdoor seating available. They also sell food & other miscellaneous merchandise such as chapstick holders, t-shirts, coffee mugs, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and I will most certainly be back :)
loved the coffee and had large breakfasts available for a low cost. I will be returning
Good drinks and atmosphere.
Very nice service, and people. Do try the Gingerbread, it is Heaven! Make you wanna slap your mama.
I was really excited to try this place while in town for a bike race because I love local coffee shops. My initial thoughts were great! Exposed brick walls, comfy couches, a nice display of different coffee and tea options- it all looked very promising! They have a very extensive food menu and I was impressed by that, I got the Denver breakfast wrap and it was quite yummy and pretty cheap considering the size of it. Then I got my pour over coffee and this is where it all went south. I watched them make it, they didn’t even have a real kettle for making pour overs, they just poured hot water over the top of it from a milk steaming pitcher. That was the first sign it wasn’t going to be great. I then received my pour over and I took the lid off and there were huge coffee grounds in it! I picked out a couple of the big pieces of coffee and tried a sip, it was so watery it barely even tasted like coffee at all. And I was drinking it black, so it’s not like I diluted it with cream or anything. Clearly they don’t know what coarseness to grind coffee for a pour over which is definitely why it tasted like water. I threw the whole cup away because I just couldn’t drink it. Also my friend was very displeased with his mocha, he said it had a very unusual flavor that he couldn’t quite place. I just think that for a place that has coffee in the name, they definitely need to work on there coffee making game. Best of luck to the owners/ baristas for hopefully improving that aspect of the business, otherwise they’re on the right track with the shop with the nice atmosphere and food menu.
Delicious coffee; friendly, helpful service; and that breakfast rice! OMG, get the breakfast rice! Delicious!
