Decent. The location and vibe of the cafe was good but the coffee was a bit overpriced for what is was! But, must try once.
Excellent location, and environment, very relaxing! I loved that they had decaf coffee choice for the cappuccino that was excellent. Great experience
the coffee here is fine nice staff coffee came as expect
The Breakfast Cuban sandwich is worth the trip to Foundation Coffee. This tasty sandwich is a fun take on the classic Cuban sandwich that Tampa is known for. The bread is soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The saltiness of the meat pairs well with the egg on the sandwich. We also tried the Goat Cheese Croissant. Another excellent choice. The homemade Lavender sauce for the Iced coffee was good but not above average. We are giving Foundation Coffee 10/10 overall for being innovative and making Breakfast fun with their take on the classic Cuban sandwich
I came to this location for morning coffee several times during the week of March 3rd. I had training in Ybor city for a week and I love a good cup of coffee. I saw that Foundation coffee was in walking distance of my training site and jumped on it. I ordered a Cafe con Leche for myself and a medium dark roast with cream for my coworker. I love a Cortado cuban coffee and was happy to see it on the menu along with the Cafe con Leche. Their coffee had a unique taste to it, almost like a licorice bite to it, which my coworker instantly noticed and i really enjoyed. I walked in after a neighborhood regular and he brought his dog in with him. I thought it was nice that it was also dog friendly business. The baristas seemed very knowledgeable and laid back. The location of this place is in a very cute area and the roosters crowing 🐓 and walking towards the sheriff's office at 7:30 am added a funny touch. I really enjoyed my coffee, so much that I came back every morning during my training class.
Love stopping here to upload work during my lunch. I have had their breakfast sandwich which is my favorite. I also enjoyed their chicken salad sandwich. Nice cozy atmosphere with plenty of outlets to charge your devices.
This new location needs consistency on the coffee, please check on your baristas. some days coffee is bomb and some days is nasty!! Like real bad!! I wanna like the place but I don't know
Speechless. The drinks and food is great. I went to use as a workspace. Wi-Fi was available. Fast service. Vibe was amazing love the art work
Slow, slow. 3 coffee drinks, 20 minute wait. The 2 lattes were good at least, but the drip coffee was the worst I have ever tasted.
Always a great cup of coffee and a fantastic breakfast sandwich to start your Saturday
Some of the best coffee around. Friendly, helpful staff.
LOVED my experience here. I came with my husband, we got cappuccinos and dined in. The coffee was perfect. The atmosphere was great, we loved the hip music. The barista was very sweet and helpful even though she was by herself she got our order out in a timely manner. They are dog friendly which is a bonus! Will be coming back here
Great atmosphere, quaint and cozy. Ideal for working remote or just chill. Friendly personnel. Great coffee, lattes and espressos!!
Coffee latte is good but I prefer to be served on the house cup, the muffin was overheated and saggy. Overall the ambiance is welcoming and cozy.
I would give them a 10 if I could. We contacted Jennifer a while back about holding my 18 year old's birthday there. They have this really cool patio area in the back, that was perfect. Jennifer and her team bent over backwards to make it an amazing experience for my daughter and her buds. The coffee was amazing (as always), and the food was unbelievable. There were a lot of extra touches that we didn't expect, but it just goes to show how much they care about their customers. Gabby and Jill were very attentive as the assisted about 20 teenagers (bless their souls!). I am a fan for life, thank you guys for an incredible experience.
We had my daughter's 18th birthday party at Foundation Coffee in Ybor. We rented the patio out back for ~20 girls. Jennifer, the owner, went above and beyond to make this extra special. The patio was set up beautifully and Jennifer went out of her way to add every detail to make it even prettier. We had our own barista/ server, Gabby, attending to the girls. She made sure the coffee drinks were perfect as ordered. We had trays of breakfast Cubans and regular Cubans deliciously made by Jill. On our tiered fruit, cheese, and nut platter every berry in it was beautiful. My younger daughter said the breakfast Cuban was the best thing she has ever had! We brought our own birthday cake and they provided plates and utensils to make it easy. The girls really enjoyed it. The coffee and food were delicious and the service was outstanding. Jennifer and her husband really care about their business, staff, and patrons. Come support this local business! You will be glad you did! Thank you, Foundation Coffee, for making my daughter's day so special!
The sign outside says The Bunker but it’s called Foundation inside… they had a sign on the sidewalk that said “good coffee here” and that’s what drew me to this place to begin with. But just like the sign said, it’s only good coffee not great. It was very sour and lemony, which tells me that the beans may be stale. I couldn’t even finish my cappuccino it was just not a good flavor- in my opinion. I think my expectations were on the higher side, considering it was a coffee focused house. The cappuccino was spilt all over as it was being handed to me. But the staff was friendly. The music was interesting…not very “coffee house vibes” it was alternative/rap music. I was expecting this place to be a vibe and it was so mixed matched it wasn’t a cohesive theme. With a few changes here and there it could be a cute brunch place but until then I will not be going back to update the review.
Excellent coffee shop. Great coffee and the cheese danishes were just coming out of the oven when I ordered - yes thank you!!! A few seats outside to enjoy the air and roosters!!! Perfect!
On Sunday morning I was looking for a place to have coffee and quick bite. Since I haven't tried the foundation coffee before and it was on my list so I took this an opportunity to have coffee at Foundation Coffee. It is a small beautiful cafe with free wifi access where one cab work and sip coffee. There is also a roadside parking available in front of the cafe. Along with different options for coffee available at foundation coffee it also includes teas, Beer, wine and also to have quick bite like bagel, croissant etc. After exploring the menu from the register area I ordered Macchiato Hot Coffee, Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese, Butter Croissant and Cold Brew for me as well as my friend. The service was good and soon in 5-10 minutes we got our order. First I had bagel with toasted pretty well with Cream Cheese spread which made it delicious. My friend had butter croissant which was delicious hot and toasted in oven. Then i had hot macchiato which was good and freshly roasted coffee. Then we tried our cold brew which my friend also said that it could have been better. Maybe it was not our taste. All in all amazing cafe with multiple stuff to sip and delicious food.
This is the first time I have ever been to this place. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese, on Cuban bread. When I received it, I had to laugh. The egg was clearly microwaved into a perfect 2inch rectangle a quarter of the size of the bread. There was hardly any cheese, and there was 2 very thin pieces of bacon. I had to eat half the bread to get to the egg. The size, quality, and taste of this breakfast sandwich was not worth the $9 I had to pay for it. I would not recommend this item on the menu. I cannot vouch for other items, but this was ridiculous. If it wasn’t take out that someone else got me, I would have left it in the counter.
