I ordered a ribeye, and the meat was spoiled. The waitress had an attitude about it and was annoyed when she had to tell the other guests in the dining room that the kitchen was no longer serving meat for the evening. They did take it off of the bill, but staff and management could not have cared less.
Awesome food and awesome service. We will definitely be back! We got drinks at Oyster Brewery and the walked over and ate at Tamara’s Cafe. It was wonderful walking outside to everything and the kids enjoyed themselves too! It was very nice to sit and eat while having the view next to the bay.
Confusing information about this place. We never found a "brick and mortar " cafe, only a food trailer "Tamara's On The Go" that did not have some menu items described on Google. I wanted a Caribbean Banana Split, which they did not have.
Really awesome service and food. Sad they had to leave their corner cafe, but that definitely didn’t effect the quality.
I recently had to evacuate due to Hurricane Ian. These amazing people set up cart on pine island to feed all the people who needed help. They provided my puppies with much needed water. I will never forget their kindness.
Good food, friendly service set in a picturesque historic section of town. Great shopping options nearby.
Great food and friendly service at a reasonable price.
Looked at the menu as we walked by. The items sounded interesting but wasn't expecting what we got. I had the grouper cheeks with lobster Mac and cheese with turnip greens. I have never been a fan of turnip greens but my wife said they were better than normal. I tried them and OMG were they great. The whole plate of food was amazing. I told the waitress they weren't charging enough for it. I would have gladly paid twice as much for that meal. We drove down from PCB when we are down from Tennessee just to walk around and shop. Tamara's will definitely be a place we will eat at again. Thank you for the great food and service. I just wish we were closer.
Waited nearly 1.5 hrs on meal which we never received while other couples arrived and ordered and received their selections. Will NEVER EVER GO THERE PERIOD NOT EVEN IF FREE THEYRE TERRIBLE
What a gem! And a welcome break from the fried shrimp baskets everywhere else. Tabasco fried grouper cheeks over mac & cheese covered in collards! Whoa! Will come back for that one! Wife had the Gyro Salad - tasty, juicy meat on spinach and mixed greens with feta cheese and a thick tzatziki. Should definitely be on the list when you’re in Apalachicola.
We were a couple bites in before we both realized we were having a meal we would remember for awhile. I had grouper cheeks and my wife had the paella and both were fantastic! The decor is very nice, but the wood floors and tin ceilings mean it’s also quite loud. The important part though is that the food may be the best you’ll find in Apalach. Seriously.
Maybe this was an OFF day for 'Tamara's Cafe'... Several empty tables at 1:00 pm Saturday whilst other nearby eateries were jammed. Slow to be seated, slow to be approached by wait staff. Not much going on here as patrons were simply waiting for, or eating their lunch. Very dismal atmosphere. Had to get up to get tableleware & napkins due to inattentive servers. $ 18 Grouper Sandwich was stingy on main ingredient... There are better places nearby.
My family went here on Friday night for dinner. My husband ordered the fat boy burger, it's presentation was very sloppy, the chunk of tomato was huge you couldn't even put it in the burgers. My husband said the burger was ok, it was very impossible to pick up and eat it. I order the veggie pasta. It was dry, no olive oil or garlic... no taste..The veggies were scarce more noodles than anything $20. 🙄 no bread no salad with this entree. My sister ordered ahi tuna she said she wouldn't order it again way too much sesame seeds. Take away: High priced, no love in the prep or presentation of the food, bland tasting. Service was 😕 they did even give the right change🙄
This is one of the top places, that we are sure to visit, during every vacation trip. The bloody Marys are always great and the menu is very well put together. Always fresh ingredients with a flawless execution. Never had a bad meal here and the place is beautiful inside, but also has tables on the sidewalk with great views of the historic city.
During a recent visit to Apalachicola, we were tasked with deciding which of the many restaurants might best serve our tastebuds. Happily we selected Tamara's Cafe. The menu was fantastically unique while remaining true to the heritage of the region. The service was fine and the prices fair. We would go again without hesitation.
Do not eat here. My wife and i had the fish tacos today and the fish was past its sell date and not eat able. Told the waitress as she asked if we were through and she made no effort to correct a bad customer experience.
Tamara's Cafe catered the lunch for the Visit Florida Training session. My first thought on seeing the cuban sandwich was how am I going to save 1/2 for later. I shouldn't have worried. It was too good to bother saving!!! It didn't last that long and it was sizable. Thank you!
If I could give it minus stars this food poisoning pit would get it. Service. It started ok when we were seated but the the server became progressively rude when I asked her if our food was coming after an hour wait! We witnessed 3 other tables come in after us, were waited on, served and leaving during the hour. During our wait, we all are or were in the food service industry, 2 of us being executive chefs in a large city. We witnessed numerous food safety violations, from minor to major violations. We asked for the check for our beverages we had and were going to leave. The server came with the food and the bill. Everything was cold, a tcf violation. My daughter in law was so hungry, she ate her fish tacos and was sick the next day! My husband's food was not what he ordered, I have been teetering to call the Franklin County Health Department and report their violations. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU ARE IN NEED OF A GOOD STOMACH AND BOWEL CLEANSING!
April 2019. We were the only guests for a longer time and were treated to amazing food (can't believe it) and a private country music performance by a mother and son. This is America as you wish it to be.
The food was ok, when it finally came to the table correctly. Lots of mistakes, wrong entrees served, only 2 very young gals working the whole dining area inside and out who did not know anything about the beer selections. They were trying hard but management should think about limiting number of tables if kitchen is short staffed. we'd heard it was pretty good at one time but It was currently a poor experience.
