Excellent green chili! I highly recommend The Mess! Pancakes are great as well! Don’t miss it if you are in the area.

We ended up here due to a navigation error by my wife, as it was about a 10-minute detour from our planned route. This is definitely not a tourist town as I suspect other than locals, most travelers were drive by this unsuspecting cafe. I imagine the smells of the nearby sewage treatment plant would encourage most travelers to keep driving. However, one big advantage to checking out these small local restaurants is that they are often surprisingly good, and cheap. This was easily the cheapest meal we had during our 2 week trip through CO and other states. We only had a few sandwiches, grilled cheese, and some fries. I found the fries to be on the soggy side, but my wife liked them. And the sandwich was above average. Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to try other items on the menu. As this does appear to be a local/family restaurant, they did have some younger kids working as waiters and cashiers. I'll cut them some slack for clearly being new to this line of work, but they do have a lot to learn about this profession. Perhaps some more supervision and training would help to show them the ropes. Overall, can't say we'll probably come back this way anytime soon. But if you happen to be in the area, it's worth considering for some decent cheap eats.

Food was great. Nice little family owned business. It's hard to find a place with homemade fries. But they did it. Fried mushrooms were perfect.

We stopped for breakfast. Ordered the burrito to go and it was really good. The green chili is also excellent.

Came from Italy only to try this place because of the coffee but when we arrived they told us that the machine was broken. Sad.
