Great food , great price !
Good service, and simple but really delicious food. The ingredients are fresh, the food freshly prepared, and the potato salad is one of the best I’ve ever had.
J&L Cafe First thing the proprietor of this restaurant needs to do is post at the door and the hostess stand is their intention to add a 4% surcharge to your bill if you use a CREDIT CARD! It needs to be very noticeable for who carry's enough cash to cover a bill for a family of 7? I certainly DO NOT! Also with this extra charge, the food should be very good or at least as good as the last time I ate there (only visit Sterling a couple times per year). It WAS NOT. I had my taco salad (looked forward to it since last year). The guacamole was brown and pale green (not fresh). The meat looked like mystery meat and we found a strange looking piece of gristle in it. Credit card charges are a business expense that should come off that business's taxes. So why the push for cash? Could it be to hide true earnings. Where does my extra cash go? WILL NOT be going back here for sure!
WORST customer service EVER! the service was terrible, the food was ok. Our waitress had an attitude problem and was rude. NOT worth the trip!

Really good food; huge menu. We had a breakfast burrito and a philly southwestern sandwich. The sandwich was slightly better. Really busy - weekday lunch.
UPDATE: 4-23-2023 For almost $16.00 the chicken fried steak apparently comes in 2 sizes...Full size and senior size....thumb through the pics, you'll find what they use to look like...THIS IS THE FULL SIZE.... This is not how it used to be. I also want to note my CFS was undercooked to the point of it being bloody...NAW, I WONT BE BACK....

The food is AMAZING! The staff is super friendly, even for service industry workers. Next time I am passing through Sterling, this will definitely be a stop I make!
As always great service wonderful food.. Saturday morning you know you may have to wait a few minutes but worth it..
My wife and I went here as an alternative to village inn. At about half capacity, it took them 35 minutes to get my food out after ordering. The breading on my chicken fried steak was soggy and the steak was about the size of my very average size palm. The hash browns were also soggy and the portion was smaller than my steak. There was nasty stuff at the bottom of my wife’s water and the check my waitress gave me had country gravy smeared across the top. This meal cost me 14 dollars. I will not be going back.
This place is a keeper for sure. Great food and friendly staff and clientele. Classic Midwestern American diner. Don't miss this place for a great meal!

Went to visit a friend in Sterling Colorado,he took us here for breakfast,the food was delicious and plentiful,we liked it so much that we went back for dinner,we left the next morning, we are looking forward to going back again,oh yeah,the service was great also.
Stopped here for a quick dinner on a road trip. Excellent service! We got our table and food quickly. Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. Would recommend for anyone going thru Sterling!
A local, nothing special restaurant, but with nice service and good food, like many, but what is important is what the customer expects. A plus visit.

Yummy home style food, nothing fancy, but delicious and tummy filling! Staff was pleasant and friendly. May be moving to area, hopefully, and this will be a regular place to visit if we do!!!
