Good coffee and excellent pastries in a friendly, relaxed, dog-friendly environment. Well worth a visit.

There isn't a better coffee shop in steamboat, and I'd be willing to fist fight you over that 👊

Great little spot that's a bit off of the beaten path, but well worth the trip! An excellent place for your caffeine fix and a light snack (including some gluten free options). A few tables and seats outside with a view of the ski hill. Plenty of parking when we were here. Not a lot of kid friendly options. The folks were very kind. They've also got art and local items for sale. Definitely will be back again! Thanks for all you do!

My pain latte was fantastic. Good espresso flavor. The store is pretty close to the resort but a little out of sight.

We are in town for a few days to ski. This coffee shop is a great find in a town where many of the businesses focus on the tourist crowd, this is clearly a place for the locals who want the best coffee. Yesterday I arrived without my wallet. The staff were so gracious, set me up with a cortado and a scone - both fantastic - and told me that I could pay at my next visit. I will be back today.

So happy we found this coffee shop on our recent trip to steamboat. Great coffee and breakfast options. Breakfast sandwiches were delicious. Perfect place to fuel up before hitting the slopes. We will definitely be back on our next trip.

Delicious spicy chai latte. Highly recommend. Great ambience though the speaker system could be a tad more dispersed. Love the local art and items to purchase.

Dusky Grouse is my number one all time favorite coffee shop ever, I’m serious. For one thing- it is so much more than a coffee shop. It has community resources for mental health, living sober, and personal betterment in general readily available and posted to assist anyone who might need it or just be interested. They clearly do so much for the community- probably more than is even public. Besides the cozy environment and nostalgic Seattle radio station, the staff is always kind and they are also beautiful. The coffee is SO GOOD, and they take care with ingredients, going above and beyond to make all their own syrups and creatively special drinks. I truly feel like the owner is doing her part to heal the world at this special little corner in Steamboat. I wish I was in town longer to rent the podcast space. Thank you Dusky Grouse!!

My first couple experiences of going here was good, coffee was delicious, good service, etc. However the last 4 times I’ve come in to the shop something of mine has been forgotten. The other week they started getting busy, my friend and I had already gotten our coffee but it took 20min to get our food, and that’s after me reminding them that we had placed a food order. Yesterday my drip coffee was forgotten and I had to remind the barista. It happened once again a few weeks back when I came in with my boyfriend and they forgot his bagel until I reminded them. Service is decent, and coffee is good, but after having something in my order being forgotten for a 4th time turns me off of returning.

It was simply OK. The Mud Wtr I ordered wasn't fully mixed, it was pricey (my drink and in general), and they were out of most of the pastries. The vibes were chill and I like that they sell vinyl, but Id try one of the other coffee shops in town before I came back here.
