What more can you ask for? The Fort is a great establishment with great food/service and the view is also awesome. The atmosphere was also great, and during the summer, I’d recommend dining at their outside patio. It’s especially a good place to take family and friends that are out of towners! Try their mix meat plate to try all sorts of game meat, the buffalo bone marrow and also their trade whiskey which has some fun powder in it!

Fun place for a treat night. Bison prime rib was delicious as were the sides. Nachos are spicy! Nice to have a restaurant in this beautiful red rocks setting.

5/10 It was okay, some really good points, some not great. Honestly, the most memorable part of the experience was the price tag. Service was a miss. We had reservations for 7:30 and didn't get out until nearly 10. There was WAY too much time between courses. My drinks were empty nearly half the time, and our servers would disappear for 15 minutes at a time. Salads were okay, a bit one-note, we had to send one back because we asked for a dietary modification that didn't happen. The meats were mostly good, Rocky Mountain Oysters (both types), elk, pork chop, and buffalo sirloin were REALLY good and easily the high point of the meal. The rattlesnake and rabbit sausage was just okay (dry and absolutely caked with seasoning but not inedible), the buffalo ribs were awful. Dry, crispy, unappetizing. The hatch mac and cheese was great, but the carrots were burned, dry, yet raw in the middle. Chocolate chili cake was pretty good, as was the cappuccino. This was a chain steakhouse experience with a wild game gimmick, great for people who haven't eaten game before. It is certainly not worth the price.

Great location and ambiance. Food was flavorful, but some execution needs work. (Ribs were quite dry, carrots were undercooked). Service also needed attention. We waited almost an hour from when our appetizer came to when our main courses arrived. Our server also seemed more interested in a large private party than the normal patrons.

Not my cup of tea, and that's ok. It's a steakhouse that has a limited steak menu. It was a 3hour dinner, and we probably were expecting 2 hours at most. There was too much time between courses, and we were just waiting 30-40 minutes between them. The food was delicious, but because of the length of time between courses, we were completely full by the time our entress came out.

Absolutely great food and service. Including live music and song. And a gentleman playing the American Indian flute. We've been there several times and it's always fantastic.

The Fort has a gorgeous view and I love that they converted an old fort into a restaurant. Loved learning the history about it. I would've preferred it wasn't so dimly lit but liked that the decor fits the time period. Service was excellent and the staff checked on us frequently. Salad was fresh and I loved the pickled ginger in it. None marrow was amazing and it was healthy portions. The elk medallions I had were cooked well and I loved the candied carrots as my vegetable side. Mashed potatoes were made how I like it. Bread rolls and herb butter were amazing. The only thing that I wasn't impressed was the panna cotta. There was a skin on top of the panna cotta and they used too much gelatin in it. (I've learned how to make it in Italy and it's one of my fav desserts.) Otherwise the flavor was great and loved the sauce they put on it. My friend enjoyed his variety of game meat (Fort's Game Plate) and some chocolate dessert. Everything was well plated.

Yes, I'm giving this 10 out of 10! Or full 5 stars. It's a place you go for the atmosphere and the food is second, most of the time. The Fort is top-notch food these days. I understand that in the past, there were issues. We saw none, and there were 17 of us. The staff was amazing. I can't remember the main server, but she was awesome. She made sure everyone, including my 90 year old mother in law knew everything that was going on and what was available. The entertainment was fun, informative, not too long, and yes, cheesy. But the guys were good and told a good tale. The food. I used to be a total carnivore. Loved meat of every type. Nowadays, I am very picky. Only the perfect cuts, perfectly raised, and I love knowing where it comes from. I got everything and more! I did the game plate! WOW. Quail, Byson, and Elk from Norway. The quail was perfect, probably the best I've ever had. The Byson was perfectly cooked, not too gamey. And then the Elk. This was the best elk I've EVER had. So tender, not over seasoned, not overcooked. The flavor was out of this world. My wife had the pork belly and said she had NEVER had anything so tasty. The desert, OMG! We did a platter of different ones. WOW! THANK YOU to everyone at the Fort. Great job on a very, very busy night. All 17 of us were super impressed. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Good food, definitely not the best steak or steakhouse food I’ve ever had, but it can stand up for itself. The price is decent for the amount and quality of food you get. I’d recommend the elk or bison before any of the beef.

Insanely overpriced for cheap cuts of meat. Ends up being easily over $100 per person for a very very disappointing meal. For maybe ½ the price it would be written off as a “fun experience”. But no way I will be spending that much per person for food that is truly 5/10.

This place is amazing, if expensive. My wife and I spent $280 on dinner for two (admittedly, we both splurged on duck breast, which you should, too). The native American flutist is amazing, and we wound up buying one of his CDs. The place is phenomenal and has a very picturesque view of Denver. While it's expensive, we do go for anniversaries and birthdays (not every time). But it is a great experience.

We had a great time at the Fort this weekend. Let's start with the appetizers the roasted bison marrow-bones were Epic the Bison eggs were also very good should have had more. Guacamole was awesome along with top-notch chips. Moving onto the main course I had a 12 oz dry aged beef ribeye was seasoned and cooked perfectly my wife had the tenderloin which done to perfection. For a cocktail I tried something different, they call it trade whiskey which was flavored with tobacco and gunpowder, no foolin gotta try it. For dessert we had creme brulee which was very good, along with a nice Tawny port for a dessert wine. What a great atmosphere this restaurant has.... the entire property just has a good vibe. But you know what the icing on the cake was? Service. Our waiter Don, he was top-notch and really made us feel welcome. We also had a nice interlude with the assistant GM Chris at our table who checked up on us, now that's service! We will be back guaranteed!!!!

The Fort is a unique bucket list dining establishment. The building is based on Old Bents Fort on the Santa Fe Trail. The food is Colorado style game, bison or more traditional proteins with Old West sides. Add in characters wandering the restaurant and speaking to folk and frequent Old west type festivals and you have a Colorado Legacy.
