Food was pretty solid but quite overpriced. Service was great and fast though, restroom was fairly clean.
We were visiting Gunnison again for our grandson's graduation. We had breakfast here two mornings. I had eggs benedict (I think they call it The Classic) one morning and Belgian waffles the other. My wife had a skillet breakfast. The food was quite good. What was more noteworthy was the service. All the ladies are happy and cheerful and continue monitoring your coffee and other needs. In particular, Delphine is extraordinarily cheerful and it is infectious: it brightens your day. All in all, a wonderful experience..
Everyone is friendly and the food is great!
Awesome little cafe. Great cocktail selection. The breakfast tacos, burrito and chicken and waffles were amazing. We've been twice in a week! Staff is friendly and service is fast.
We stopped here for a quick lunch before heading to Crested Butte. They say they treat you like family and they actually do! Very diverse menu and delicious mimosas.
If you're in Gunnison and in need of a delicious breakfast to cure your hangover, Back Country Cafe is the place to go! I had the Breakfast Gyro and it was absolutely amazing. The flavorful gyro meat, fresh veggies, and fluffy eggs all wrapped up in a warm pita was the perfect combination to get me ready for my college graduation. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made for an overall great experience. Highly recommend!
This is a cozy establishment with quick, attentive service! a great spot to stop by while on the road. The ski theme is great although seating is a bit tight f if you have a party of 4+
Great breakfasts. Staff is wonderful, exceptional, and friendly. Menu has many items to choose from.
Nice old diner with good food and great service. Free mimosa on your birthday!
So good! Love this little spot for a quick and delicious breakfast!
Wow even on a Sunday morning when this place was packed, the staff was efficient, the kitchen was fast and the food was absolutely delicious. Really fun menu; my husband had a breakfast Gyro‘s. It was really amazing!
BEST breakfast in the whole area. Girls were nicest people in Colorado! Highly recommend. We drove 40 miles from CB cause the food and service was that great! It was so nice having such good service.
Nice little stop on the way back from a ski trip. Service was pleasant and quick and the food was excellent. I had the san juan benedict.
As a Gunnison local, I’ll say this is the best breakfast in town! Where the locals really go. Also it’s family owned and all of the staff is wonderful! The breakfast nachos are my fave but you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu!
Great local café. I had a great Greek omelette and the kitchen had no problem changing out the cheese and adding mushrooms. Homemade biscuits and good gravy. This is where the locals hang out and for good reason. We read that the toast isn’t buttered and that is true. I think maybe ihop if that’s your expectation of a good breakfast.
Back Country Cafe is absolutely a local favorite. I know the staff and at least a few patrons on any given day. The atmosphere is boisterous and full of joy. The pancakes, of any kind, are my go to. I have business meetings here, bring visitors, and gather the tables when all of my girlfriends can finally make breakfast happen. I cherish Back Country Cafe.
Didn't have a chance to look around before my breakfast was served. Fantastic waitress that took the time to ask about where I was from. Food was excellent!
Breakfast was great! The biscuits devine!! The staff was friendly and accommodating for our large group!
Burrito with English muffin. Second is the toasted hippie with spinach tomatoes and mushrooms on rye. Delicious!
Good food, but ya'll have a bad misrepresentation in your menu - the Veggie Burrito claims to be smothered in veggie green chili, but instead is just smothered in salsa verde. I even ordered an extra side of "veggie green chili" to make sure I wasn't missing something, but, yea they just gave me more salsa verde. Green chili and salsa verda are VERY different things and you guys need to get it right if you're gonna claim to serve it. Veggie green chili is the same dish as pork green chili just minus the meat/different fat base - it is a stew-like, gravy-like, cooked thing. Definitely NOT a tomatillo-based salsa. WAY different things and that was a disappointment. So please, either learn to make actual veggie green chili, or fix the menu to appropriately reflect the condiment you're really serving.
