Situated in a historic junior high building, and co-located with a collective of art studios, the Smiley Cafe is a must stop in Durango. Coffee was excellent, service friendly and efficient, and ambiance will have you relaxing in no time.

The café is located inside an old junior high school building that has been converted into comfortable relaxing coves, the Cafe, a whole section of local artists' studios/wares to browse, and small business offices. Love it! The Smiley Cafe has a limited, but tasty, menu for breakfast and lunch, specialty coffees, a good tea selection, smoothies, and bottled drinks. Highly recommend a unique place to chill.

Atmosphere is great. I hang out and work weekly. Good coffee and teas. All baked goods are gluten free. I'm glad they have gluten free options, but my preference would be to options that are not gluten free.

Quiche was delicious. So was the smoothie and I got some GF blueberry muffins to go. So nice to find excellent Gluten Free Options when travelling and this place delivered.

Great atmosphere, comfy seating, delicious drinks and food. Baked good are so gluten free. Even the macarons which are so good and have different flavors everyday. They have great food with lots of vegetarian options. Great place to l to hang out, catch up with someone, do some work, or just relax. Make sure your take the time to walk through the area next to it where artists have working areas and also have items for sale!

So many different zones, so many outlets. Good wifi. I was freaked out it was in an old school, but they repurposed the space nicely.

As must for gluten free persons. My friend was ecstatic over all the GF options, muffins, cookies, sandwiches and more. I loved the decaf and spice option on my delicious chai latte. We snagged the couches and watched the kids indulge and enjoy their boba teas. Great spot!

This is a very interesting space. There is a coffee shop surrounded by art studio space which functions as an art gallery as well. There are other office spaces as well ranging from healing, yoga, dance, US Senator, the wilderness society and attorneys. There is good parking and the building is near downtown Durango.

Such a cute spot! Yummy drinks and kid friendly. So much history to the building. And if you walk around outside you’ll find some awesome fruit trees and hidden fairy gardens along 3rd ave.

A little hidden gem, this cafe offers gluten free baked goods, quiche, grab and go sandwiches and delicious coffee and Boba tea (try the peach). Great spot to enjoy a drink and read a book or chat with friends. Very friendly folks!

Stopped here with my SO and had no idea it was Inside a private middle school! However we had no issues and it is in fact open to the public 😂 we had their lavender blueberry tea with tapioca and popping blueberry Boba balls. YUMMY! highly recommend you stop by when you're craving some Boba.
