This is the 2nd time we have been here (4/26 and 5/6). Not super busy when we were there. The bartender on both visits was not welcoming, almost like we were a bother. Today, we were ordering for 5 people and bartender didn't seem to have time to take order even though the place was not busy. Service not so great. Food was good on both occasions.
The place is great and the food here are worth checking out. You gotta try everything here.
I moved into Tava Waters over a year ago and The Local has been such a fun, welcoming place to come hang out at. They have great food and beverages and I have always felt welcomed here. The bartenders, owners and cooks are so kind and accommodating. I’ve made so many good friends here! Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
Asked for my regular bartender and the one I was interacting with refused... Then threw my credit card at me, made a degoratory comment...and pushed my regular server for trying to assist her regular client. On top of all that professionalism, she proceeded to throw the receipt at my face, tell me I had to leave because my "type are trouble"! As I turned my head in disbelief two strangers claiming to be Tava Waters Security, informed me that I should listen before real bodily harm comes to me. And the several video cameras that captured the incident were magically erase according to the DPD investigating officer! This is not the type of establishment were I want to eat, associate with or have in our community! It shameful!☹️☹️☹️
We live at tava waters and literaly the only good thing about this complex is the on-site restaurant: the local. This place is always a good time and super friendly Their prices are completely fair as well 5/5 would recommend to a friend

My local resident bar, the staff is always very nice and helpful, and it is a fun intimate atmosphere.
Great environment, minimal food options, staff was preoccupied with a group at the bar so we didn't get a greeting at all. Plan to try again and will update once we get the full experience.
Great food & cocktail options, drinks were especially tasty. Plus Karaoke on Friday night!
Had sliders, fries and peach cider. Sliders were good, fries were great. Loved the cider. Sat outside. Beautiful patio. Service was excellent. Price was reasonable. Would definitely go back.

Love the food and service!!!! Always different items to choose from, great and talented cafe. This is the child's cheese pizza, look at that cheese! It did that for each slice!!
*UPDATE: Unfortunately I have to update my review. I am not sure what has happened here since summer time but the food and quality has absolutely gone down the drain. Their food is something like a microwaved snack bar now. They used to have such amazing food. Hopefully they make the right changes for fall. Still a wonderful place for drinks and atmosphere. But the food options are a joke at the moment.* Always incredible service and they continuously show that they really care about their customers!! The food is so amazing and love the vibe/atmosphere both inside and outside. Can’t recommend The Local enough!
I tried the blood flavored (strawberry) mojito and it is super delicious. The staff is great, management is behind the bar most of the time, and the owner has said hi to me every time I've come in. Awesome place.
