Really nice place to stay in Del Norte. Lauren, the owner, does a great job of communicating and the overall vibe is, in fact, mellow. It's a motel with parking right outside the rooms. The decor shows taste and effort. The bar is a work in progress, but the trailer serves drinks and simple but tasty food. Recommended!
We stumbled upon the Mellow Moon Lodge and enjoyed our stay immensely! The room was lovely with lots of extra touches that made us feel warm, cozy and welcomed! I highly recommend staying here! (The shampoo, conditioner and body wash was natural and smelled so good, not to mention the cozy robe) Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Great area restaurant the room was really cute and very clean. The only thing would be the hot tub you have to drive to another area to use. In the description it makes it seem that it’s there a the motel. We picked this one for that one reason. Not have to leave to go to another resort
I only stayed 1 night during a business trip in March but it was wonderful, plusI loved being able to take my new pup with me! I give this a 5 Star rating all around because that's what the accommodations felt like to me. Not only great customer service from hands on owner Lauren, but also a dog friendly place with top notch room designs, comfort, and high quality travel essentials. Hope to go back this summer just for a fun getaway!!
I didn't want to leave! This was hands down the best motel experience I've ever had. The bed and sheets were so nice, they had excellent hygiene products, comfy robes to stay in and had excellent coffee choices. Thank you so much Lauren for making my stay so cozy. I will definitely be back and will recommend this place to anyone.
Really nice lodge i especially like the chic furniture and claw foot bathtub they have our front! funky and cool.
Ok. For the town, it was an ok place to stay. I thought the walls were paper thin. I constantly heard a vacuum device turn on all night. The futon mattress wasn't sleepable. You can sleep on half of it due to cushion design. The beds were comfy and there were good "small things" touches around the room like smell and useless cook books. The town is a tiny dying town. There's a main road that the lodge is on which everyone drives down. Due to the paper thin walls, mild muffler sounds penetrate the barrier with ease. The parking lot isn't really paved either. It's always fascinating to get reviews like this, that are so left field after a very in-and-out one night stay where you were completely taken care of by our team and didn't once reach out in need of anything or to report a sound disturbance of any kind. We are indeed a small town, but as a small business in a small town that we call home it's disheartening to read a review like this that lacks so much perspective in calling it a "dying" place. There are incredible amenities and local businesses in the area, our staff offers exceptional service and would have catered to anything you may have needed during your brief stay, and the "trailers" you mention we are surrounded by makes me know you took no time to explore and appreciate the area. My reply to the owner: We took the time to look around. My review was fact based only. Hoping that if anything, improvements can be made to help people after me. Maybe you'll pave the parking lot. Maybe you'll reduce the noise outside during the nightly hours. I left other reviews for other establishments in the town. Fact based only too. I also didn't include things that could've been misconstrued as petty. Check-in was easy. Staff texted me back when I asked them about a roll around bed which left me with a cheap futon. That's the experience I had with them. I'm unsure how that can
Mellow Moon Lodge is a great place to stay. Room is updated and comfortable. And pet friendly! The owners communicate super well, including seamless afterhours check in. Del Norte and Mellow Moon are the perfect midway point between Denver and southwest Colorado. Look forward to staying at Mellow Moon again.
Really cute and convenient spot! The decor is really nice, the bed comfy and the shower spacious! Will definitely be back to visit.
Attentive owner. Rooms are very nice and updated. Very clean. Large tile walk in showers. Much better than similar priced places in the area. Highly recommend.

I’ve stayed here twice, and it’s a great spot that has been thoughtfully renovated. Comfy beds, clean, and wonderful service! I thought it was neat too that they provide environmentally conscious toiletries and coffee/tea in the room from small businesses. Lauren is always super responsive and helpful. Thanks!

This little gem of a place is fabulous! I stay here weekly for work. So quaint and cozy and Lauren's the best! She will do anything she can to make your stay better! Check them out... you won't be disappointed! Something about this place...I just feel at home there!
Great place to stay in Del Norte. Everything was clean and fresh and the staff was very friendly.
We had a very nice stay at the Mellow Moon Lodge. This place is a wonderfully surprising gem in Del Norte. When you arrive, it looks like you might expect a nostalgic motor lodge to appear - and then you get inside the room and it's a refreshing combination of tasteful and retro decor. The room had a very fresh, clean, and updated appearance, and we especially liked all the attention given to making the environment delightfully different from the standard overnight places: the towels and linens that weren’t just plain white, the environmentally conscious accoutrements, the coffees and teas that were specialized, etc. Well done! This is *definitely* a place worth searching out, and I will absolutely keep this at the top of my list of places to stay whenever I need an overnight in the area.
The mellow moon was an awesome stop on an even more awesome trip to see some of my favorite people. Conveniently located with friendly and attentive staff. Lots of cool trinkets made by local artists for sale in the lobby as well. I can’t recommend this cute place enough.
What a cool discovery! This mod hotel in the middle of nowhere was the surprise of my road trip. Excellent accommodations with a super comfortable bed, cool interior design with a midcentury feel and the most excellent custom made diffuser. The owner and her team were incredible. Super attentive. One minor thing... I could have used a small desk and chair in the room to use the laptop. But the bed was so comfortable it made up for the desk.
