I feel this place is underrated. Friendly staff and very good coffee! Warm fireplace..plus free drip coffee on weekends! Best coffee prices in town with the same level of quality. Location is a bit out of the way and not centrally located.
We had a matcha and a chai and both were really not good.
high-end coffee from Hold Fast roasters. good people. pleasant and spacious facilities.
What a great find. 1979 has great coffee at affordable prices. Can't wait to go back.
The space is great because it is quite ample. Several different kinds of seating options. There is space for a medium size groups of people as well. I love the fireplace. Oh, the coffee is good.
1979 is a great little coffee nook! Drinks were great quality and very tasty. Price was average for a coffee shop! Atmosphere was cozy and quiet. Service was quality and kind. This would be a great place to get work done or even for a coffee date. Definitely worth visiting again!
The coffee is $1.50
Loved the vibes here! We were visiting from Satx & came across this coffee shop. The barista was really friendly & the coffee was amazing!
Delightful. Great coffee and atmosphere. Best experience in Colorado Springs .
Finally got to check out 1979, and I was impressed. Also didn't know it is owned and operated by Peak Place, which was a fun and pleasant surprise. So let me start off by saying that because it is a functioning coffee shop within a massive church building, the cozy factor is hard to nail. They do a good job, but it's hard to feel like you're at a "coffee shop," and that feel is a huge part of the coffee experience. BUT, service was friendly and quick, and the Papau New Guniea pour over was one of the most flavorful I've had thus far in the Springs. Complex, fruity, but not too thin as can sometimes happen with lighter roasted single origin coffees. Props to Matt, the manager there, for his skill and some fun conversation at the bar. Prices were super low compared to similar-quality competitors, and that's largely because the church it is housed in has helped a lot with overhead and rent cost, which was a neat story to hear. I'll definitely be back on occasion for the stunning view of the mountains, great coffee, and friendly faces.
The atmosphere here was wonderful! I went during the week around noon and it was very quiet and cozy. Perfect place to get some work done, reading, chat with friends, make phone calls, etc. It’s spread out and the music is soft background music. I’m not a coffee connoisseur so the latte was just fine for me! And the ham cheese croissant was light and fluffy. Goodbye Starbucks🤗 . Also, it’s not affiliated with the church in case that’s a concern for anyone.
A clean and quiet coffee bar selling fresh brews and a few baked goods at a fair price. We went on a weekday morning. The place had an airport travel vibe.
Calm atmosphere, reasonable prices, friendly staff, good coffee, not overrun with obnoxious hipsters. Everything you'd want in a coffee shop.
Chai latte here does not rank in my top three in Colorado Springs. Great environment, but my chai came out a little lukewarm.
This is a hidden gem in Colorado Springs. It is part of a church and a little challenging to find, but worth the effort. Positive feelings and mood, quiet and tables well spaced out to accommodate meetings without having to worry about eaves dropping. I am excited to have been introduced to this hidden gem.
Great place to relax or study with some awesome coffee!
The service was awesome, the venue was clean and had lots of seating options pre-COVID. Most importantly, the espresso was on-point. The roasters do an excellent job. Wish they had longer hours or were open weekends.
The egg nog latte recommended to me is the best coffee I've ever had.
I had the Ethiopia when I visited a few months ago, and it was by far the best coffee I had during my entire trip to Colorado! Everything was super clean and there was plenty of space for seating. LOVED this place!
Delicious scone and Mocha.
