Amazing breakfast stop when staying in the area last September. Food is so good. Great coffee and the service while slow given its a small mountain community was pleasant and friendly. Will be coming back when hiking or fishing the area this summer. Cash only when we were there so be ready for that. Parking is also tight along the road so be careful crossing the street with the traffic.
Lovely Cafe in the middle of the mountains. Didn't matter if you were a local or a visitor, you received great service, excellent food and a nice rustic Cafe atmosphere that money can't put a price on. Will definitely go back again!
I would not ever go back here and I would definitely not recommend this place to anybody. The food was awful the amount of food for the price was pitiful. The only saving grace to it was that we sat outside and the waitress was nice
A little gem in the mountains - food is delicious, the atmosphere is special and the staff always friendly and attentive.
Highly recommend food was awesome as well as the service. If you’re looking for a great place for breakfast this is it!
Cane across this place on a fluke. What a pleasant surprise. Great food great servers. A perfect lunch on a perfect day.
The place is slow, which is reasonable and they certainly warn you in advance. I could get over that if the food had actually been tasty. The omelet was cold and... Really Wet somehow. The bread was mealy. The one acceptable piece of food was the pancakes
I don't give five stars often, if ever but I'll give their black n blue burger a hell yeah!!! Definitely a unique dining experience and next time I am in Colorado, I will go back!
Food was just okay. We did take out. The dine experience may have been better
Very rude waitstaff. Busy on a Sunday morning. Had to get menus ourselves, then other diners who arrived after us were served before we were even greeted. Table next to us said it to over an hour to get their food so we left. Unless you’re a local, don’t bother.
Neat place!! Great food!! Different, off the beaten path.
In the small town, like several homes surrounded by mountains and forests, so amazing find this lovely cafe! Coming there you may start to think that the owner of this place is a fairy 💕. Food was yammy. View from the terrace was spectacular. I know i will be back.
I’ve been eating at the Meadow Mountain Cafe for over two decades. It’s known to be a little slower but time slows down in the mountains and the food was always worth it. Fast forward to this weekend. They make it clear that they are short staffed. One waitress, one cook and one dishwasher. I have no problem with that. What I have a problem with is the attitude I got from the waitress after waiting 90 minutes and questioning her about our food. She was blatantly rude and confrontational. She had the cook deliver our food, who said, “Sorry, I didn’t know you were in a rush”. A rush? If I were in a rush I wouldn’t have sat down in the first place, but was I prepared to wait almost two hours? No. After we got our food our waitress immediately came out and said, “I wouldn’t want you to wait for this”, as she slammed our check down on the table. I will never go here again. But I will say this, the older gentleman who brings drinks was a total delight. Hopefully his attitude will rub off on the waitress.
One of the most terrible services I have ever experienced. While I was waiting in line people were starting to leave and saying it's lousy service. I decided to wait. All tables were dirty. When I asked waitress to clean up table she told me if you don't like to wait don't eat here. We don't care.
Homemade English Muffins, fresh eggs, perfect avocado. Small place but authentic and managed with a lot of caring.
!!!!CASH ONLY!!!! !!!!DEBIT/CREDIT MACHINE DOWN!!!! Excellent food, awesome atmosphere, all the amenities you can think of for the delicious food. I wish I had taken a picture of my orange juice with the dark colored orange slice on it! Looked incredible! Pricing is about mid range from what you would expect from a cafe, obviously covering the quality ingredients. You can tell this place is a local favorite!
If you're staying anywhere near this restaurant, I highly recommend visiting. The breakfast was outstanding. The staff was so welcoming. Other people seated at tables greeted us when we walked in the door and when we left. Really feels like home. The parking is limited and seems like a popular joint. The restaurant is quaint and charming with limited seating, but well worth any wait time.
Pretty good food, affordable, not too fast not too slow. Nice decor, really interesting antiques. Love that every coffee mug is different. The coffee was really good. Waitress was pretty rude when she sat us (I guess because we asked if it was self-seating, but we'd waited a couple minutes and not been acknowledged at all so we asked haha), but nice the rest of the time. Glad we didn't walk out right then like we considered, cause it was good the rest of the time. Hope the staff keeps in mind that we're just people showing up to eat pay and not ruin their day or whatever. Would eat here again.
Found this place via a blog on where to stop driving from Boulder to Estes Park … could not have been more thrilled!! GET THE CINNAMON BUN!!! I would consider flying back to CO for it :)
Great breakfast
