Get here for a trip to the gold-rush time warp. Such a great place to stumble upon after a hike. We had the porch to ourselves on a sun filled late autumn day — and what views. Coulda sat all afternoon and we nearly did. We ordered great beers, then poppers, and burgers, but unfortunately the food is taking the 5th star away being barely mediocre. Yet, our sever was a sweetheart and the bartender too. The grounds must be explored so take a walk down toward river’s edge.

We had a wonderful couple of days at the Washington Hotel - it's a magical place and we thoroughly recommended it. Situated right on the Yuba river, we swam in beautiful clear waters and took in the amazing views. The team are super helpful and friendly and the locals in the bar were so friendly and welcoming to their town.

First time staying there. Didn't even know it existed. The hotel is a blast from the past like going back to the 1880's gold rush time so be ready for that and forget about cell service (the best part for me). The bar and restaurant are great and the food was amazing. Had friends stay at the camp site as well and it was equally awesome. Rode our UTV's and visited Bowman lake. Will defiantly be coming back and in fact have already booked it.

Food is always 10/10 never had a bad meal at the hotel, everything is fresh cook to order and you can see the clean kitchen and fresh ingredients when you walk up to the kitchen to order. The beautiful Yuba river flows right behind the balcony which is open to sit and enjoy with your meal. it also has a very nice garden backyard and a staircase down closer to the river this is a bit out of the way, but well worth it.

It's a place out of time. If you want fancy, go elsewhere (unless you're like me and consider it fancy to stay in a room where Wyatt Earp once slept). The food is bomb, the cocktails are delicious (grab a bloody Mary, trust me), and the area is prime. You can't beat a dip in the Yuba River for some spiritual healing.

The manager chastity is a complete B****. She literally had her staff refuse my sister from staying there because she had her SERVICE/ EMOTIONAL SUPPORT dogs and then refused to give me the refund for the room back. Besides poor customer service, unprofessionalism and overall LAW BREAKING agreements, the hotel is in the absolute middle of nowhere, and has zero service. Fucc you Chasity and your motel.

If you need to get away, I mean no internet connection, which is amazingly relaxing. Don't get me wrong, it took a few hours to realize my phone is now a camera and flashlight. Use that camera to take pictures of the most beautiful scenery ever. Relax and explore the hotel....really explore. Best weekend ever!

Charming (way) out of the way journey into the past. Friendly server, good burgers, great location on river, working turn of the 20th century hotel and bar.

The food at Washington Hotel is pretty fantastic. We usually get at least one special every time we eat here. Why? The Thacos on Thursday are on the larger side, so you don't usually need more than 2 and some rice and beans, and the au jus with the French dip is made with bacon. Totally worth the price in portion and flavor. They also have great soda; my favorite being the black cherry cream soda that tickles the tastebuds. The decor is entertaining as well. There's tons of antiques everywhere, even on the ceiling. Things like old mining equipment and kitchen things. It's neat. Even if you are just driving on the 20, it would be a great detour for lunch or dinner.
