Regrettably, my recent visit to Brewja Coffee has been less than satisfactory. The café boasts a delightful range of chilled beverages, particularly their unique horchata-based and banana-flavoured Iced Coffee selections. However, the operational aspect fell considerably short. I arrived at 8:15AM on May 21st 2023, as per the business hours listed on Google Maps, only to find the establishment unexpectedly closed. There was a notable absence of any advisory or indication of altered operating hours. This reflects a lack of professionalism, raising questions about either staff's disciplinary shortcomings or an indifferent owner attitude towards customer convenience. Or it is simply being reckless, not updating Google Maps entry when it's needed. Whenever they are open, there's often a super long wait - feels like they're short on staff. Despite the excellence of their beverages and food offerings, the operational inefficiencies cast a pall over the overall customer experience. Until these concerns are addressed, my appraisal of Brewja Coffee remains lukewarm.
The coffee taste good along with the pastry. But I think paying $7 for a concha is a little overpriced. I would give this 5 stars but they need to work on the pricing. Not everyone is made out of gold.
Stopped in here on a brunch to catch up with a long time friend. I've heard about Brewja from other acquaintances in my circle and decided to give it a shot. The spot is bigger than I expected it to be. Entrance puts you directly in front of the bakery items. To the left you have two refrigerators that have items you can purchase to take home and window seating. To the right is a much more relaxed, dimmed seating area. I originally came here for a recommendation, empanadas, unfortunately on this day they had none. I instead got a Pastelito. I forgot what kind it was but it was good. They warmed it up for me and served it. For my drink, I decided on a Lavender Latte. They offered me the choice of hot or iced. I chose Iced as it was a rather warm day. The drink itself was pretty good, I've never had a Lavender Latte before in either hot or iced. It was sweet and definitely could taste Lavender. The service was quick, the batista was polite and openly offered us recommendations and substitutions for our choices. They were patient with us too, we weren't the two quietest people in the building and definitely were not the most family friendly. This spot definitely leans towards a younger audience... of course having a high school up the street probably helps. I would love to go again and try the other items on the menu that caught my eye.
EDIT: They have since opened the indoor seating area with cute homey decor, so revising atmosphere score. I used to really like this place with their assortment of unique drink options and baked goods, but they seem to have revamped their menu to get rid of almost all of the things that made them stand out. Now they're just an overpriced run-of-the-mill cafe with no soul or spark, and despite the size of their interior, nowhere to sit and relax/work either. So much wasted potential.
The horchata latte here is phenomenal, and they got empanadas and guava pastries. This type of coffeeshop is Unique to the bar area, this is definitely a hidden gem to check out!
Delicious
I just love this spot in San lorenzo. the coffee is great 🥰 you must try it!
Love the coffee and empanadas, but every time we go it’s an extremely long wait for coffee and they are consistently out of food items. Unfortunately, it is not worth the time and inconsistency.
Delicious coffee and even better croissants. A couple errors on my order without time to fix it but it still tasted good.
It's not even worth it. Their steak empanadas are sooo tiny and $7 each! The only thing that's worth it here is their spinach feta crescent things.
Ive heard so many good things about this place. $10.50 for a large iced horchata coffee made with oat milk and 1 add shot. Absolutely ridiculous.
I love their coffee and bakery items but, I have driven there on 3 different occasions and they are closed. The google hours do not match the hours on the door, but even arriving with what their posted hours are, they are closed! I such a waste of time.
Great craft coffee...dulce de leche cookies😋...and empanadas
We tried the Horchata latte and Dulce de Leche is delicious!
The toast selection is so good, love it, very creative with the variety. Coffee is great as well, people are very nice and I highly recommend to give them a try if you are in the area.
I love Brewja it’s a great place to buy the mocha and other great toast. Only thing they should work on is updating their website when they are out of things. Because they do charge for a lot of the extras (including whipped cream) and when they are out they say “sorry we’re out” but sadly don’t offer to refund you Your money for it. First time was okay but now it’s added up to five dollars and five dollars is too much so definitely will say something next time it occurs but that’s the only thing but still and worth five stars because of the quality and taste
Their toast is great! Also enjoyed the peppermint horchata latte I got 😊
Didn’t have WiFi - no care to fix it. Only two tables of two for seating.
Pretty good food but bit pricy. These toasts are not worth $10 and $12.
Great spot that we have in the Village. Coffee is great as well as the treats! Always great! People are nice too!
