Great coffee, friendly staff, but no inside tables and no wifi.
Good coffee
Fast and friendly. I got the hot chocolate with cinnamon and an exquisite lemon muffin.
First and last visit. Young skinny brunette boy was short, sarcastic, argumentative, unhelpful. Would not follow directions. Dark roast was brewed at more than double strength so it was like Turkish coffee + smokey soot. Awful. No public toilet. Wouldn't give out the wifi password and was rude about me asking. All this for $4 cup with only white sugar. Yuk. After the fact I found that they charged my credit card twice.
Nice neighborhood place, not at all fancy but good to hang with the locals!
Loved the Black Forest Mocha coffee with lovely cherry and chocolate flavors! Such inventive coffees that I really had a hard time choosing! They have alternative milks, a huge variety of teas, and a cute gift shop section. We'll done, Java & Joe! I'll be back soon!
Coffee with a friend
If your going to run a coffee shop do your customers a favor and make sure your employees are trained to be baristas. I just got a single shot 12 oz cappuccino that was handed to me lukewarm and the girl stood and instead of pouring the foam in the cup she took a spoon and spooned it in which tells me that she hasn't been properly trained yet she still got the $4.50 regardless for the cappuccino.
I've always enjoyed this coffee shop. It gives a great local tourist vibe. There is a little gift shop inside as well so you can do a little shopping while you wait for your drinks. I enjoy the mochas or the white chocolate drinks. Yummy!
As I work nearby I have been to this coffee shop many times and every time I walk away disappointed. Not only do the people who work here know absolutely nothing about espresso or espresso-based drinks (yes, there is a difference between a cappuccino and a latte, and no if the milk doesn't say organic on the packaging it's not organic) they also know nothing about service. Unfriendly, rude and just awful all round. Good coffee is worth a journey and from now on I shall make the trek to Beacon down the road.
Good coffee selection. I tried the cappuccino and the pistachio latte with organic coffee and enjoyed both. Good service as well
Hello, I was very disappointed and disgusted at the treatment I received this morning at your establishment. I was discriminated against for my disability told to leave. I explained to the young dark-haired boy at the counter that I will stand by the door to order even though I felt uncomfortable and singled-out. I tried to show him the note from my doctor as to why I can't cover my face and was told "No such thing exists." When I told him Dr. Robert Levin who extended the mandate put on Ventura County Public Health Order that certain people are exempt from wearing a face covering if they have a medical disability, he said again, "No such thing exists and to leave." Really shocked at this kind of treatment in our very small town of Ojai.
Terrible coffee shop. Staff is untrained and slow. Customer service is non existent and no place to plug in devices (even though there easily could be). Lots of better options in Ojai Lots
Love the iced teas here as well as cold brew. The standard black iced tea is one of the favorites I've ever had.
A really nice little Coffee Shop of the main road of Ojai. I had a wonderful Bee Hive Latte 🍯that had the perfect balance of creamy to rich and robust. ☺️
Off the main drag, but they had decent espresso drinks and pastry. Very friendly service. Spacious inside.
Wonderful variety of coffee drinks, all customizable and hot, over ice, or ice blended. Delicious tart lemonade and baked goods as well, and lovely patio seating -- all in the heart of Ojai!
I go here every morning before work and love it! The employees are always so nice and make my orders to perfection!
I am sad to not have tried their coffee and patio. I understand, no dogs inside but they could have been polite about it and could have turned ii into a 5 star experience. "I am sorry sir we only allow dogs on the patio or if you like we can have you wait outside and bring you order to you." 6 stars if he apologized to my cute corgi. Ha ha. To be clear, i am not at all complaining about the no dog policy just how I was addressed. So I went to Love's instead and, yup, got me some love.
Great little cafe in a quiet corner of Ojai, a 2 min walk from downtown. Their outdoor patio has been a lifesaver in pandemic times.
