The Altamont General store is the shinning star of Occidental. Whether you need a great coffee or Matcha, perfect selection of vegan and or gluten free pastries, lunch, to-go or grab and go, truly local wine, don't over glance this chic amazing destination and coming home. The capitol of "country" in Sonoma County, truly, Occidental is blessed and privileged to have The Altamont General Store and it's kind staff and great eats as the best "rest stop" I know of in Sonoma County ( - born and raised Sonoma County Local).
A pleasant, relaxed atmosphere with nice selection of food and drinks. Order at the counter and they bring it to your table in a timely manner.
The Altamont is a true gem of a restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, with a menu that offers a wide variety of options to suit any taste. The dishes are expertly prepared and beautifully presented, and the flavors are absolutely incredible. The service is also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who make sure that every guest feels welcome and well-cared for. Overall, I can't recommend The Altamont enough - it's an absolute must-try for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.
Nice spot for a coffee and snack! Also has a good variety of items to choose from as well.

One of the best breakfasts of my life. Jammy egg. Ricotta and passion fruit curd. Cafe miel. An absolute dream. Worth the trip to Occidental.

So cute, at first we didn't realize it was a restaurant too when driving by. Super cute, great service, comfy seating and good food what's not to love! We got salads that were very fresh. found out they're farm to table and woman owned bonus Items for sale and on display = nice
Love the vibe of this place. Great interior. Super friendly staff. I met two staff members who both had me laughing. It was like making new friends while ordering tasty, iced coffee. Great menu, lovely flavors. If I was closer, I'd be here all the time. I ordered "The Shizz" and an iced coffee with milk.

I’ll start with the good things! The design of the place is super cute! Lots of little tables with jewelry and other cute things for sale, lots of sitting both inside and outside, I had a chai latte and a match donut , both were great! The down side is that I tried their katsu chicken sandwich and it wasn’t good at all, they reheat the chicken so it’s not fresh out of the fryer, there’s hardly any slaw in it and the flavors just don’t work in my opinion. Obviously it might taste good to some people. But chicken katsu is my go to wherever I can get it, and I didn’t like this one. I’ll come back for coffee and the atmosphere but not the food 🙏🏻

The special hot dog as seen on tv was excellent! The variety of flavors, texture and quality of the dog well worth the drive! Wait staff were friendly and welcoming.
