The traditional house blend was awful. I gave it to a friend to try and he said the same thing.

Among the increasing "boutique" coffee offerings available, Nomadic held a special niche for me. Aside from being excellent coffee, I looked forward to being exposed to the brilliance of both established and emerging poets and often posted them on my fridge where I would reread them. Sadly the recent announcement that this enclosure will not longer be offered will most likely influence my future choices.

We LOVE this coffee! My favorite is Colombian and then Guatemalan. It makes my morning to start off with a cup of coffee from Nomadic. Also, the people who run the place are cool. Not the reason I buy the coffee but a plus. I have to buy the 5 lb bag of Colombian because we go through the smaller bags too fast and I panic when I run out, LOL.

I love this locally owned, locally roasted, organic coffee! It's cost is aligned perfectly with its quality. I am usually an old school dark roast drinker, but have fallen for their Armagosa Roast. Its so great that each of their roasts is named after a classic California location. Armagosa Opera House, anyone? And with each bag, I look forward to the extraordinary poem that is included.

Thought I’d try some new coffee and bought La Brea Tar Pits Blend which claims to be a dark roast. I almost never buy boutique coffee and wanted to treat myself. It is not a dark roast, I’d say medium, and it’s has a very sour unpleasant taste. Don’t know what the “Dutch cocoa-molasses-campfire marshmallow” description means but I should have known by how ridiculous that is. It doesn’t have anything to do with the taste of the coffee. It’s not what I was expecting and if it wasn’t so expensive, I’d throw it away. Don’t waste your money.
