Good pastries! Expect to spend lots of money for a coffee (7.75$ the matcha latte !!!)
What a great place to stop, relax, and enjoy a great meal. My lunch was extremely delicious and was more than I could eat at one sitting. My waitress was very polite and on the ball with very professional service. And the meal was great and moderately priced. I love stopping here to take a break, and I always fill up at the little gas station ⛽️ just past there. Both of these businesses make it easy to stop and enjoy the area.
Sam, our bartender was amazing above and beyond. First time staying here and will definitely come back everyone is so welcoming.
Holy wow! The breakfast food and the coffee here are top notch, and the unexpectedness of it blew my mind. As someone else said: “upscale in the middle of nowhere.” I’d started out camping in the Los Padres and on the first morning realized I’d forgotten coffee! A coffee-free camping trip isn’t what I had in mind, so I trekked here, the closest place for coffee and kept my fingers crossed. While waiting for coffee I glanced at the menu, which tempted me enough to stay and have fancy breakfast even though I’m *supposed* to be camping right now. I was blown away by the food, and I’m a proper foodie. Bacon: house-smoked, and cooked delicately crispy. Delish! Chorizo also house- made and full of flavorful.! Eggs and potatoes perfectly cooked. Toasted rustic bread with house made marmalade. I don’t usually like marmalade but this marmalade was bonkers! And last but not least: super friendly service. Kudos to the whole team!
Upscale in the middle of nowhere. A little pricey, but where else are you going to get a mocha latte or fish tacos in the desert? Their pulled pork sandwich is darn good. The spicy pickles and the pickled slaw dressing are homemade and delicious. Service is very friendly, the place is nice and clean, and they offer a selection of deli sandwiches, meats, and local brews from their cooler. In fact, after a visit to the local grocery I returned for a sandwich and refreshment to take back to my campsite for supper. I didn't like what the grocery had to offer, but loved what The Buck Stop had.
Very nice cafe. Very clean. Nice little touches. Had some tri tip and fries. They are marketing it right. I give them that.
Such a cute coffee shop. Food is amazing. Internet could be improved.
If you like Starbucks then this is the place for you. It had been a year or so since my last visit so I stopped in on the way to the coast. I arrived just after breakfast hours and ordered a BLT and a Bloody Mary. The drink was pre-packaged in a medium-sized plastic mason jar and cost me $30. The BLT was on a brioche bun with aioli and thick-sliced bacon that was quite literally indistinguishable from beef jerky. Thankfully, I love beef jerky. So if your teeth are good, you'll be fine. The staff was wonderful, the food prices were reasonable and the dining area was spotless and pleasantly quiet. In summation: Nice place to stop in at if you don't need a drink or a BLT.
The iced tea is lemony, light, and refreshing. The espresso was too bitter to drink, however.
Friendly staff, warm atmosphere, amazing espresso. The Buck Stop is our new spot for coffee on our road trips to the coast.
A long way from anywhere - well, we are in Santa Barbara, so it's a long way for us! We were taking a drive to see the snow in the mountains above Ojai. Funky old place, decent food, good service. Worth a stop if you are in the area.
Demasiado bien
