I enjoy and love to eat at Jantz Cafe in Merced have been a regular for well over three years now. Every Saturday I come for breakfast and am never disappointed. Truly ran by a great manager and lovely staff.
What a hidden gem and a great find! Staff was so friendly and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back. Also, bought a chocolate cream pie-best EVER

Recent experience that my friends and I had where the waitress was treating us and another group of color differently and giving us attitude. Not sure if she was having a bad day or if it was something else. This place already has a history of calling their employees racial slurs and very vocal on their religious and political views. Yet, the university continues to cater through them. Food is way too overpriced for the quality to be honest. It’s an unwelcoming space especially for people of color. Highly recommended NOT visiting this place.
Enjoyed the meal and purchased a silk pie to take to a pot luck after work… it was the highlight of the potluck!!

Actually a 5 star place. The food feels like it's fresh and homemade. It has a great set of staff who are always there to help choose from their great selections. I strongly encourage checking this place out.
2 omelets, a French toast, and 3 sodas cost over $70. The cafe was cramped, the food was mediocre, and the prices were outrageous. The only saving graces for this place is that the staff were courteous and the facility was clean. Will not ever come back.
Green bean soup in Merced was a bit greasy. Otherwise another yummy meal. Pricing has gotten a bit high, hopefully when economics improve they will go back to previous prices.
Looking for a delicious breakfast in Merced? Look no further. Located in a medical plaza Jantz totally fits in. It's beautiful from the outside and on the inside. The decor is modern and homey at the same time. The staff is super friendly and are very welcoming and accommodating. Now the food! OMG! There's so much to choose from, it's all made from scratch. I was with a picky eater. He ordered the pancake combo, two pancakes, bacon, sausage and country potatoes, he ate everything. I ordered the country breakfast and was a little disappointed in the biscuit, though. My son got a breakfast burrito with chorizo and loved it. We were all stuffed by the end of our meal. They have tons of pastries, pies, breads and cakes. I bought Easter sugar cookies and they're not only beautiful, they're delicious. You won't be disappointed eating at Jantz.
Everything was delish. The Cali-chicken sandwich is my go-to, with the baked potato salad as a side. I can never finish it so I always have yummy leftovers. The Key Lime Pie today was as smooth as silk, it was so good.
At the end of the visit I went to the restroom and they accidently through my food away and then replaced it to go. Food is always fresh and friendly great service.
