This is a brunch review! Note that dinner is a different chef. We parked at the paid parking at la brae tarpits and walked the half mile. The line was to the end of the block and took about thirty minutes as it moves quickly. You place your order at the pastry counter and the food comes quickly which means the tables turn over faster than an order at the table style restaurant. The selection of food, both pastries and brunch is diverse and playful. While there are classic dishes even those have twists. For example the classic eggs and meat breakfast has “bacon steak” vs sliced bacon. (It was spectacular if your okay with plenty of fat). My potato pancake was like no other and hit the mark for interesting and delicious. Simply put, this was the best breakfast I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of breakfasts! Service was really good. Remember you order at the counter on the way in and then it’s open seating with both indoor and outdoor options. Bus and waiter staff were frequent and fast and super friendly. I came away feeling the lunch team really were concerned that you got the best meal experience they could offer. Small item but I always take my coffee with sugar but this coffee was so good I skipped the sugar. My suggestion is go here for both the culinary adventure and a trendy meal experience.

From the quality of the ingredients to the final product, to the atmosphere and efficient service, this is no brainer the best brunch/lunch experience in LA! Ordered: BLT Benedict, Regular Breakfast, Breakfast Burritos From eggs to avocados to the sauces, everything was so fresh and tasty! Definitely will come back again!

Extremely overhyped place. Popular due to vibe amongst young adults. You have to order ahead and get your own table. Horrible for busy weekends especially if you come as a group. Food is below average. Food - 2/5 - some of the pastries we ordered were either a hit or miss. The food, breakfast plater and shakshuka were below average. The standard breakfast platter was okay; the thick bacon was good but there was nothing special about it. The shakshuka lacked key flavors and was the typical shakshuka/tomato sauce dish. Drinks were good; fresh OJ was great. Service - came here for Easter Sunday and it was crowded. Line was long, around 20 min, and people were being yelled at to close the door when coming in. People taking the order don’t have the best service nor attitude, maybe from the hectic schedule, but it doesn’t entice visitors to look forward to their food. Worst part is getting your own table on a busy day in a crowded space. The vibe is chill but can get loud. You have to order ahead, pay, and find your seat with a number. Service is slow due to staff shortage. Since there is no waiter service, it’s hard to ask for things when needed or get a refill. Very inconvenient. Price - 2/5 - pastry and drink price is a little over average based on portion. Food is overpriced, especially since there’s nothing special, portion is average if not below and there’s no order service. You have to pay a tip when you place the order at the beginning since it’s a order before you get a seat. Accessibility - 1/5 no parking, $10 valet or metered street parking. Can’t park in the residential area as it is permits only Cleanliness - 3/5 due to staff shortage and first come first basis, tables don’t get wiped down until asked (during the weekend). Restroom - N/A Vibe - 3/5 - for the price of a restaurant, you’d expect to be seated but it’s a first come first serve basis and you have to chase down tables or stand in a busy, tight space and wait for a table to open. Extremely in

If you love baked goods, this is the spot. Yes, it's a tad expensive but you won't find something similar to this in Los Angeles. Street parking may be hard to find. They have valet parking available. Great spot for a date night or a Sunday brunch.

Great late breakfast. Frittata was full of vegetables and topped with arugula sala. Breakfast bread was outstanding with butter and jam. Oj was freshly squeezed. Fingerling roasted potatoes were perfect.

Charlie Chaplin’s second home! Beautiful place. The wine is absolutely delicious. I came here to read a book. Great for dates and families. The bartender was super nice and friendly. I wish the bathrooms had the same character as the restaurant. Must come. I feel I’m in Europe here. Put more pictures of Chaplin please :)

Republique has been one of my favorite places for brunch and getting pastry in town, but the line has always been long. I decided to go there for a business dinner with a Reservation few days ago but the experience was somehow disappointing. We had a Reservation for two at 830pm in the back dining room but we were told to waited at the bar until 9pm. It was already embarrassing for me to tell my guest, then they offered us to sit at the communal table in the front with everyone passing through us. It was not ideal, so we decided to wait longer for the dining room we originally planned. The hostess told us the guests took much longer to dine that night, but we finally got seated in the table in the dining room almost 40 mins after our original reservation time. Then we had AC blasting on us at the table when it is only 50 degrees outside, and with a big table of drunk guys yelling and shouting next to us. People were wearing coats and jackets on them during dinner! The dining room was beautiful with high ceiling, but we felt like sitting outside in the cold in a loud, random marketplace. Our spot was unbearable, so we had to change. In the end, a table for two in the corner finally opened up, and we moved away from the noise and cold. Finally, we could order but our appetite was pretty much ruined. The food was still exceptional, especially the venison pate, beef cheek and market salad we ordered. The server for our table was very attentive, and helpful. But again, one dish came out cold and the crowd and experience on a regular Thursday night was questionable. With a menu with an entree at average $50 a dish and we spent nearly $200 per person for the night, we did not feel like the experience we had was up to the standards. There are plenty of nicer choices in town for the price point. My recommendations: I would only go back for brunch or day time, keep it casual and less expectation. If you wanna go for a romamtic date or business meal, think twice! Or g

Amazing pastries, the food/ brunch is less satisfying, looks better than it tastes. Avoid weekends if you don’t like doing lanes. Very pricey as well, we spent over $100 for just breakfast.

The presentation of the food was waunderwhelming for how much you pay. But the flavors of the food were good. A must try is the brown butter cookie!!!! I had the salmon on top of a potato pancake, with 2 poached eggs. I would definitely get it again. We also got the French toast. It wasn't anything special. I would get something different next time. And the Expresso was ok. The hot chocolate was not good at all. A downside is limited street parking, but they do have valet parking.

Arrived at 9 am on a Saturday, parked on the street because their valet parking looked full. Waited in line for about 20 minutes. Got some pastries to go and ordered a mushroom toast and English breakfast tea to eat in. Luckily my part of 3 found a table in the back. Food came out fast and it was delicious. I thought it would be smaller but it was a big serving of toast and eggs and mushrooms. I suggest arriving earlier than 9 to be sure you can grab a table. It's a very pricey meal when you get pastries to go, but it is worth it and I think it's nice to splurge once in a while.

I was looking for best breakfast and I found it! shakshuka with freshly baked baguette is PERFECT! There are a lot of different pastries and desserts. Beautiful interior and exterior. Glad they have a valet parking. They have a line, but it moves pretty fast, so don’t be upset if you will see it.

Amazing restaurant! There is a reason that this restaurant is consistently rated so highly with an enormous number of reviews: exceptional food with excellent service in a beautiful atmosphere. The setting lends itself to any occasion and can accommodate both casual or more formal dinners. I sat in the atrium (where the arches are), which is a little reminscent of a European village. Recommend groups where everyone can share and taste a little bit of everything. I had the baguette with pan drippings, venison patte, and liberty duck. All were exceptional. A little pricey but within reason and totally worth it. I think the lunch and dinner menus are totally different so I will certainly try to return for brunch.

My favorite brunch place in LA, I always make sure to swing by to get pastries or eat here whenever I am in town. You know its good when you see the line of people outside. You order and then you sit yourself, there is a wait staff sometimes to sit you. I am not sure if they take reservation but I never made any, I usually just walk in and take a chance. There is a valet parking beside it, I think it was $10.

Oh my gosh, what a horrendous experience! Not to mention that this was our valentines brunch! I was looking forward to coming here for MONTHS! The food here is plain, and your money would be spent better at your local in & out. If you want good French food, go to Petit Trois— that’s what we ended up doing right after we left. I ordered the steak frites here & the burger here. Both were dry & BLAND!!! I asked them to remake the fries which were barely cooked & they did so without an issue which was nice of them. The steak was over cooked both times they served it to me. The little service that you get was good. You order first and then bring a number to your table. I didn’t even ask to speak to a manager or order something else because I was disgusted by the food at that point. Not worth the price & the line. Over hyped!

Favorites Brunch:Croque Madame, Shakshouka, and Potato Pancakes. Favorites pastries: Brioche, Fruit Danish and Honey cake. It is an amazing cafe with a lot of options for brunch and pastries. There is a long line for ordering, but the service is fast, and it doesn't get a long time to order and sit.

Had a fantastic dinner at République. The food is top notch - just really high quality dishes. The menu is inventive, although the “four course” structure threw us off a bit at first, we improvised our way through it and had a magnificent combination of dishes. The wagyu hawk steak was one of the best steaks I’ve eaten recently - celeriac, spinach and potatoes all making it absolutely stunning to eat. Special mention for the staff - the entire wait staff was super attentive, friendly and gave us great recommendations. Cannot recommend enough - the one critical note being that it can’t be denied it’s a pricey place to eat. But worth it if you ask us.

Met a friend here for lunch and loved everything about it. The fact that they offered valet made me so happy as parking in LA is not one of my favorite parts of visiting. I ordered the house made ginger ale which was strong but I liked it a lot once the ice melted a bit to mellow it out. For my entree I got the BLT benedict. Delicious! Highly recommend. I tried my husband's green juice and that was also really good. We sat outside but the inside of the building is quite picturesque. A nice spot. Would come back to try more things from the menu.

High-quality food, you pay for what you get. There is no risk to get disappointed. Dry-aged rib burger, fries, the blueberry banana smoothie and cream banana pie was our order and it was all delicious. I'm only sorry that there is no vegan pasty option at least a croissant or palmier. Otherwise all looked great and the atmosphere is nice. You just better be prepared to stand in line for a bit to get in...

Love the setup and ambiance. Their bakery menu items were delicious. You need to order to be seated. They only have valet parking. There is always a long wait.

We came early in the morning for brunch and didn't have to wait! The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly! The best part of this restaurant is the interior design and the ambience. It is such a cool building and really well done! We easily found street parking a block away. My parents used the valet and it was a mess, so I would try to avoid it as much as possible. They lost someone's keys and it took over 20 minutes to get our car back because there were so many people coming to the restaurant mid-day. Overall, a great spot and amazing food!
