WASTE OF MONEY 1st pic is Marie’s , second pic is bay cities , Went in on a Monday with two other people in their sitting and eating already , ordered the prosciutto got maybe 50 cents worth of meat , told them no tomatoes they put tomatoes, overall not worth the money and very frustrated I don’t even want to eat this nast looking thing.: UPDATE 3 WEEKS LATER I DECIDE I WANT A DELI , I go to bay cities subs in Santa Monica and for the same price this is what I got
Coffee is just like everywhere else. But, my 5 stars are for the veggie bagel that I ordered. I ordered #3 and it was one of the best bagels I had. Not hard or dry. Just perfect.
Great food and customer service
Used to be great, until prices kept going up and the sandwich bread size started shrinking, beyond the rate of inflation. Staff also forgot my pasta salad the last time I went :(
always fresh ingredients, consistent good quality and very welcoming.
Perfect spot for affordable delicious food, and has seating. Chicken Bahn sandwich was sooooo good. My son's turkey/swiss/Avocado sandwich also delicious. Baguette as sandwich bread could not be better.
Went for breakfast and got take out lunch sandwiches as well. The place is very clean. The food was very clean and fresh. Bagels aren’t that great (not NY bagels anyway) but everything was fresh (the egg breakfast sandwich). The veggie and the tuna sandwiches for lunch were very good. Everything was fresh, clean, the greens were wholesome. They felt homemade. Coffee is your average deli quality, nothing special. Still deserves a 5 due to cleanliness and quality of ingredients, in my book.
FRESH and delicious. My first time and I will be back (really want a bagel with lox!). Chicken pesto salad, everything separated -- in case you hate tomatoes -- dressing on the side and a lemon wedge. Avocado is the perfect ripeness, same with tomatoes, and the lettuce is super-fresh (crunches when you poke it with a fork!). Chicken is tender and the pesto tastes homemade. Came with 2 soft chunks of baguette. Warm, slightly spicy potato soup (small size) came with 2 packets of saltines, salt and pepper. Good sized fork and spoon, 5 paper napkins. I can't wait to go back! RECOMMEND.
Best local sandwich shop run by a lovely Asian couple. Their breakfast sandwiches are $7 and delicious on a fresh baguette. My vegetarian breakfast had two types of eggs, avocado, cheese, onions and tomatoes and hit the spot. Their vegetarian sandwich or turkey pesto on sourdough wheat are also clear winners. Lunch time sandwiches come with a perfect little side of fresh pasta. Come support your local business!
Amazing prices, even better food and coffee AND locally owned. Best coffee shop in DTLA.
Marie’s Coffee Deli is a neighborhood shop serving all types of sandwiches & other deli goodies in 📍Downtown Los Angeles. @eatswithedith This place is such a hidden gem in DTLA.. they have huge & fresh sandwiches for a great price. Everyone should try this place at least once! 🍽️Ordered: 1. Pork belly banh mi 2. Chicken pesto sandwich The sandwiches were stuffed to the brim with fresh ingredients and the portion sizes are generous. This mom & pop shop also provides a serving of pasta salad with every sandwich which is such a cute touch ☺️ would definitely recommend this place for a quick lunch whenever you’re in a rush! 💰Price: $24 for 2 sandwiches 👏🏻
Delicious fresh orange juice, kind customer service and delicious bagels. 6 different people in my crew said 10/10
my morning bagel #3 w no tomatoes , was yumm, thanks :) definitely gonna back
Pretty baller , wish they didn’t toast the bagels. Maybe it’s an LA thing?
Not too expensive and the breakfast sandwiches are delish! Great stop for 7th and Metro stop/riders.
Was craving a banh mi so badly after just eating burgers the last 2 weeks. Friendly service and a sick pork and chicken banh mi❤️❤️
Compared to Starbucks: better coffee, better food
Place is cute. Outside is terrible due to its surroundings. But the staff are all really sweet people and food is good.
Hands down the best iced mocha I’ve ever had. The breakfast sandwiches and bagels are delicious and always freshly made. Lunch is just as fantastic. All the sandwiches and salads are so tasty- try the pork belly bahn mi!! The sides of pasta salad included with each sandwich are always the perfect accompanying bites. The lovely couple who run Marie’s are also always a highlight of our trips. They’re so friendly and warm and we enjoy catching up with them. Overall, Marie’s is a MUST try!! A hidden gem of DTLA.
They seem to have become somewhat jaded by the people who live around their cafe....my rating would be better if they didn't toss bleach water all over the entrance as well as the sidewalk. I was refused service my first (and only) visit here. " Get out, no free food, this is a business." I was looking to grab a coffee on the way to work. Guess not. I won't drop down to their level, which is apparently judgement based on appearances....I asked for a large coffee, and while looking for cash, was told to leave. I was trying to help them out by not making them break my $100 bill. I had just found a $20 when I was shouted out of the store. Sad and disheartening. Wish I knew what caused the hostility. My wheelchair, my loud, happy voice? If you wish to open a business in your adopted country, please don't let yourself be taken in by stereotypes. I could have called ICE, but that wouldn't do anything. Went to Starbucks. Got a free biscotti w/ my coffee. I'm sorry you lost a potential every day customer. Oh, and my friends are getting the same info. Americans are Americans. Learn to love it or learn to leave it. Thanks.
