Some of the best Indian food I've ever had, and the Boba drinks are great too!
Great food with a friendly owner. The restaurant was clean and they had seating outside in the sun. I had the spinach paneer and the most delicious eggplant 🍆
Best service you could ever ask for and brilliant Tika Masala, will be returning regularly
Only Go when the older gentleman is working the front. This old lady just gave me 3 small bits of chicken for $10. I’ve had 10 times better service with the older gentleman, please don’t let that lady serve anymore.
ignore the haters. this is as good as it gets in IV. the food is affordable and they give great portions! i highly recommend the chicken tikka masala and saag paneer. the thai tea is also very delicious, goes well with the meals. dine in is not the best here as it's a small space, so you're better off doing take out.
No public bathroom even for paying customers.
Classy good Taro bubble tea kept me visiting them 3 times in a day.. Chanced upon their Saag paneer and just could not stop eating. Tried the chicken tikka masala and I was done for the day.. Good wholesome food, carried forward by an experienced food centric family. UCSB's favorite hangout for a good hearty meal..
It's good but they give hella small portions of chicken, if you hungry hungry don't expect to feel satisfied.
Love love it!!! Amazing food…amazing service.
The food here is amazing and so is their boba tea!! I got The plate with vegetable white rice, spicy coconut chicken curry and the chicken masala. Everything was good and you can taste the many spices they use in the food. I also ordered a jasmine milk tea with boba which I drank like nothing because it tasted so fresh. The staff who took my order was super friendly as well. I'm definitely going back this week again to get their food.
Okay quick and mid Indian food. They keep their food warmed up in metal bins, don’t know how fresh but worse than food that is made at Indian weddings.
The food was quick and hot which is very convenient but decent food. Restroom was closed. Tables were spotty.
Honestly, it was decent at best. My boyfriend doordashes and after so many times of picking up from them, I was really excited to try it. The tikka masala had literally no flavor to it, just tomato and it wasn’t creamy at all. Just oil based sauces is what it looks like to me. Also tried the chicken “spicy” coconut curry which I expected to be thinner but even that didn’t have much of a coconut or ANY spice to it. As well as the vegetable samosa being just one giant, bland samosa. Just sad with the experience. Hope the flavors become more balanced in the future. I know a lot of the herbs and spices are expensive to get.
Food was fine although I didn’t like the hospitality one bit. Maybe the manager woman was having a bad day, but the hospitality was 0/5 stars
Our Daughter recently started at UCSB,and I think the first food she found was Naan Stop.Wow am I so glad fate shined upon her and led her to Naan Stop. The food here is incredibly tastey. She brought our family here on Friday and showed us what she found.First off...Im loving it.So tastey. Our daughter has come here several times and I think the owner has been very kind to her.He has given her samples, even when she did not ask,I think in an attempt to have happy customers, and perhaps try and give her some new tastes, which can be found in indian food. There were four of us that sat down.It has about six tables inside the restaurant. There is parking behind the restaurant. If you pull in and park to the right, that seems to be a community center parking, with a polite and active patrol gaurd, which said I think technically the stuff on the right is community center parking. So he did say behind the back entrance there is parking.Ok parking aside...The FOOD!!! Three of us ordered chicken of the day,and our ucsb daughter ordered chicken ticka masala with an extra side of curry sauce...which might have been chicken of the day sauce. The food was ready pretty quick really. The food came in circular containers approximately 4 inches circular by 3 inches tall.Inside I found tender chunks of curry chicken with a very flavorful curry sauce over basmati rice. With my first bite,I knew this guy made a legit product. It was warm, fresh and flavorful. The meals were served with Naan Bread with butter and herbs wrapped in tinfoil served on the table. We realized our daughters smart move with extra curry sauce,as that fire warmed garlicky toastey Naan Bread dipped in any of the items such as Chicken Tikka Masala or Chicken Of The Day,is pure Nirvana...and that is no joke. The owner may or may not have sensed that his latest new customer, had now also brought her family here, but he brought out a WHOLE BUNCH of that toastey, garlicy, buttery Naan Bread to us free of charge. It was so welcomed by our
Please try the new “chicken of the day” 👌🏻🥰 perfect after Gym 💪
no difference between the taste of what we cook at home in india and what we had here. Outstanding. 100% worth multiple visits
WORST naan ever! The Naan was surely retrieved from the Orowheat outdated store. It was stale and actually I couldn't even tear it with my teeth -that's how chewy and stale it was. Crazily overpriced - orders of Naan is over $7 and $10 for a small Dal and $11 for a small Sag Paneer resulted in a $30 lunch - for vegetarian food and inedible naan. I've been to India, Dal and Sag Paneer (with a stingy amount of Paneer) isn't expensive to make! Don't pay it! Head over to Lily's tacos and for $4 a taco you get fresh veggies and meat if you want it.
very fresh and tasty indian food..i just wish it was closer to where I live...
We discovered Naan Stop a couple years ago and make sure to stop by every time we visit SB bc we LOVE IT. The owner is one of the nicest guys on the planet and is happy to provide samples until you decide on your favorite curry. The bowls are perfectly sized for a meal or even two if you're a light eater. The proportions between rice and curry are always 100% perfect, even down to the very last bite at the bottom of the bowl (I sometimes tear up when I get to that point, but such is life). I haven't found a bad piece of chicken yet either; they are all prime chunks grilled to perfection. You can't go wrong with the Paneer either, and coconut specials are also perfection so the hardest part is choosing just one! Pro tip: order at least 2 different curries and share w a partner.
