I stayed here Friday through a Sunday for one of my best friends wedding! And I must say, even before arriving I was so excited to visit this small town, and very aesthetically pleasing hotel. First thing the bride told me was, “you’re going to love where we are staying at for the wedding, it’s just your style!!” And as soon I laid my eyes on it, it was love at first site. Even more amazing were the staff!! From the wonderful ladies in the cafe to the bartenders, one in particular, JOY, made us feel so welcomed and at home! I cannot thank her & the staff enough for going above and beyond for myself & everyone else. She helped with special accommodations for my father who was in an accident and just had critical neck and spinal surgery. It was important for myself and the bride who is also my best friend, to make him feel 100% comfortable. And she, plus the staff, did just that. I appreciate it with my entire heart. We loved our stay and truly recommend, you won’t regret! Also, the sister hotel & restaurant next door was delicious!! And so many wine tastings everywhere. It was heaven LOL. And a huge thank you for calling me about the million things I kept leaving behind in the room after check out hahaha.

We had a great night at Thatcher and will definitely return! The spaces are beautiful, clean, and cozy. The bar and bartender are awesome. It was so fun chatting with locals stopping in for a drink. 10/10!

A gem. Beautifully restored and modern at the same time. Our room was large, comfy and immaculate. The gardens are sublime. Lobby bar and cafe provided us with everything we would want (cocktails were well done). Overall the hotel is very well run. I spent a few hours in the library reading. Plenty of great food opens within 1 min walk - a great bonus. I will be back often as possible.

My father has a serious health condition and recently spent two weeks in an ICU. For his birthday last week I wanted to treat him to a nice hotel with a pool. I have family in Healdsburg/Cloverdale and my dad and I drove up from SF to spend the weekend with them. We all had a fabulous experience at both Campo Vida and Stockfarm next door. I booked the ADA room for my dad on the first floor and my family their day pool passes. The next day upon check out the hospitality manager approached me and stated that my dad, who was with me at the pool, had not checked out with them and so they assumed the room was occupied. I apologized profusely for the misunderstanding and returned his key. He had a lovely stay. Two days after checking out I had been charged an additional $100. I was emailed a folio that stated this was a late check out fee. Fine. It would have felt better to me if the host had explained to me that she was going to initiate this charge. I also see nothing on their website about a late check out policy.. only that they can usually accommodate late check-outs. My dad moves slow these days, it was an honest mistake. What I don't understand is that they also attempted to withdraw $135 three days in a row. That's $405 in unknown charges. That's $505 in charges (not including the $300 hotel room) I've attempted to reach the hotel by phone and email since noticing the charges 5 days ago and have had no response. I've decided to follow a claim with my bank. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience. I just finished my third twelve hour shift in a hospital and do not feel like dealing with this on my day off. We will not be staying here again.

I had a wonderful time in Hopland. We originally stayed at the Thatcher, because of an event at Brutocao. Everyone at The Thatcher was extremely helpful and friendly. They made our stay amazing. A few names that come to mind are Wyatt, Caleb, and I believe Ada. Also, the manager who I think was named Chris. Forgive me if I'm incorrect with that name. There were a few others I cannot remember their names, but all wonderful people. They helped to make our experience here great. The drinks at the bar were amazing. The pool looked inviting but we never had time to actually go in it. The rooms were very clean. I heard the hotel was haunted but we never actually saw anything happen. The feel is very old, but they remodeled everything and it looks wonderful. That being said, if you are looking for extra bells and whistles in your room, such as long mirrors, coffee machines, snacks, etc. the Thatcher does not offer these things. The rooms are nice and clean, and have really cool big bathrooms. They did welcome us with a bottle of water in our room. There is also a mini fridge which is nice for storing sodas or water. They do have a cafe that is open in the morning that makes wonderful coffees and tea. On Saturday morning I decided I wanted to get my hair done for an event we were going to. I randomly called Loretta at the Hopland Hair Salon and she got me in right away! She did my hair wonderfully and was very accommodating. I highly recommend you call The Hopland Hair Salon if you're looking for a haircut or like in my case a style. Great little town! We will definitely be back.

Charm? Yes. Value for $? NO. The building itself is beautiful. Great care for the communal areas. But for the amount I paid for the room, I was shocked at basic amenities missing: no hair dryer, no full length mirror, blank walls. Most difficult was the complete lack of lighting in the bathroom and distance from the mirror. I said to my family… do I look like a clown? Now, if I had paid $125/150 for the room…even $200, I would not complain. But for $400 a night, I was expecting a sink that drained and HOT water. Lastly, I went down at 8 AM for a coffee (none in the room) and it wasn’t ready. I was then charged $4 for a drip coffee. It is definitely not a value place. As others have mentioned, sound travels. I could make out the entire conversation of the guests next door. I hate writing bad reviews, but I just want people to be warned of the value vs. history of this property.

It's quaint and quiet but no hot water, limited services and no television. The town shuts down at 8:00pm so keep that in mind if you're looking for anything to do later

This hotel is extremely nice. Perhaps the best description is boutique meets chic. The rooms are elegant, and their spaces have an open design. The hotel lobby is a great place for visiting and conversation. Their coffee bar is complete with pastries and lattes. Local wine tasting and restaurants are all within walking distance. This hotel can be a great start or end to your Mendocino wine tasting tour. It can also be a great local getaway for a romantic date.

What a special place! We recently stayed the night at this hotel that is recently renovated and truly BEAUTIFUL. It's clear that they spared no expense or attention to detail in their refresh of this historic building. Service was warm and friendly and the room was chic and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and huge bathroom. We spent an evening at one of the cozy fire pits outside. They were taking COVID precautions very seriously. We'll definitely be back!
