Lost Coast Brewery & Cafe

Sadly unpleasant and void of customer service.The food is decent. It stops there. I've gone to the brewery since it opened. I used to play music when they had live bands. Brought my little boy. The eclectic decor, flatmo's art on the many great local beers. Great food. That was then. Fast forward to last week. The waitress was complaining to the manager, stating, " I'll not serve anymore because of want to get out of here by 10:30 pm. I was taken aback by that. I sat as no one even came up to me. I got my menu. The waitress brings me my food in a to-go box. I explained I was eating in. She was angry. I told her as a young man I'd been a waiter in many establishments in Europe and the USA and I would stay until they were done. She yelled at me that in the USA, "We go home when we are done", oh ....okay. The manager was at the bar making jokes with a patron about not having teeth, and how handy that can come in. Suddenly. Felt like a dive bar. At this point, I was ready to go. To my surprise a chubby little guy and a guy with an apron on followed me outside, it was clear they wanted to intimidate me, cigarettes in mouth. That's interacting with customers...lol. They asked me why " ya hassling the girls' bro", at that point I had enough. I was gonna leave them with a special tip. I told them to go back and do their work as opposed to being entitled silly people. Luckily the manager, fed up, grabbed each of them bringing them back to reality. " get inside" she told them. I give fair reviews. The food was okay. The service. Terrible. Ambiance. Like a dive bar. The Free beers given to me by the manager didn't take the bitter taste out. Anyways. More customer service. Less entitled employees.

We were told about this place by a local and thought, "Why not?" and popped in for a bite. We probably interacted with about four of the waitresses and all were super nice, and our server kindly took the time to tell me about the beer. The beer was great and I hope to God we can get it in our part of Arizona, because I am hooked. The only thing that was disappointing was the food - it wasn't bad, but it was underwhelming. My elk burger had great ingredients but tasted bland. That being said, I'd definitely be back on our next trip through Eureka.

Honestly, the food was extremely disappointing. My friend got fish tacos and beer flight. She liked the beer fight but felt that tacos were okay. I got their "famous" hot brown sandwich, but there was nothing famous about it. The meat was dry. Their hickory smoked bacon had no flavor. Took 2 bites, and then I had to leave the rest.

Great bartender working her butt off. Really good beer. Decent food. Great garlic fries. A bit crowded and loud.

Rosie was a phenomenal bartender. Very personable. She gave great suggestions for places to visit (when she had a few seconds). We will visit again when in the Eureka area.

Went here 15 yrs ago with my mom and it was really good. The food was wonderful. Now it seems they’ve lost (punny) their quality. It’s a sham because most good breweries are known to have great food.

Great beer, food, and atmosphere. Cassandra at the bar was fantastic!!!

Lots of positives but go somewhere else for corned beef. Dry and sliced very thin.

We strongly recommend Lost Coast Brewery and Cafe! We visited Lost Coast for food and drink the first time 11 years ago while passing through Eureka during our move north. The excellent food, beer, and service at Lost Coast made such a great impression back then, that we still buy their beer whenever we find it locally and we made sure to stop there again during our recent road trip. On our recent stop a few days ago, we had the Elk burger and a crab sandwich. Both were served with fries, and all tasted EXCELLENT! The elk burger, especially was cooked as I specified and the flavors of the ingredients combined very well with the fried jalapeño served on the side. We also tried the apricot and tangerine flavored beers, and the beers were unique, tasted great, and paired very well with our (heavy) food. The service was as welcoming and friendly in our recent stop as it was 11 years ago. We look forward to another stop at Lost Coast in the future, and recommend others stop there for excellent food, beer, and service.

Good award-winning locally made beer and a varied food menu. I found a delicious salad and clam chowder with no bacon. Since firefighters are so important, I'm pointing to their coats that adorn the walls of the Lost Coast Brewery restaurant.

Love going here for some good food and great beer.

Average food, worse service. Seems to cater to locals which I'm not. As to the brewery, I'd rather drink a Budweiser. I will not be back

They were able to get us to a table within 2 minutes and had our food out within 5 to 10 minutes. The fish and chips were really good and paired well with the hazy IPA

The whole place was wide open then we where sat by the door. The food that came out tasted like all pre made, and reheated SYSCO food. My special meatball sub might as well been from Subway. Got a side of garlic fries which had a room temp dollop of crushed garlic from a jar that was an obvious after thought. My girlfriend got a pretzel with the hot mustard. The pretzel was burnt to a cracker again SYSCO, and the hot mustard put both of us in tears being mainly horseradish with some honey mustard.The waitress was nice, but in the end I will never recommend this place for food. Definitely seems like a tourist trap for people that don't know anybetter. How they got above a 4 star rating is beyond me. Nothing memorable about the beer.

Lost Coast Brewery is one of the gems in our area. A favorite weekend lunch date spot for us. Humboldt is a quirky funky area full of interesting folks, and loads of artists. Lost Coast Brewery really hits the vibe of this community and is always a fun spot. The artwork for their beers alone are super awesome. I love their Famous Hot Brown Sandwhich with one of their Fogcutter Double IPA's, that is my favorite of theirs. My wife got the fish and chips, which is always super good as well. They also sell beer in growlers to go, which is great because they have so many great ones to try.

This place is great! The santa fe salad with carnitas is the best taco salad I've ever had. I love that everything was chopped and mixed so I could get all the delicious flavors in each bite. The beer selections were good too, I love when a place has more than one dark beer on tap. The artsy decor gives the place a fun feel, and staff were quick and friendly.

5 star pub dining, food and service. Shrimp tacos were delicious and my son absolutely loved his Brewben (Reuben with beer twist) and the seasoned fries (he said literally best fries he's ever had, and he's 30-something). Great White Ale pairs perfectly with both. Also got the bread pudding to go but wasn't all that impressed; too dense, kind of bland. Other than that, we'll definitely be back to try more items on menu.

There's a certain relief in feeling like you're a member of a pack. Far from feeling like wayward first-timers while visiting Eureka, we felt like pups belonging to our alpha bartender at the tasting counter of Lost Coast the moment that we stepped through the door. She had smiles, compliments, and an extravagance that left the cares of workaday life outside on the sidewalk. We marveled as our she-wolf managed to greet every person who came in the door, hustle food out of the kitchen, and keep us laughing with her tales of late-night bourbon drinking in front of the television. There's not only a camaraderie and intimacy at Lost Coast--there is also the vivacity of the brewskies themselves. In stores, bottles of Lost Coast beer are eye-catching for their bright, animated, and unique personifications of everything from sharks to tangerines. Those same images dazzle the walls of the cafe, along with kitschy knicknacks and seasonal apparel. A taste of the sharkinator brings the cresting freshness of the beer label's ocean waves to life on the tongue. The flavors are naturally clean and abundant: fruity watermelon wheat, heady eight ball stout, and radical indica IPA all satisfy in different ways. If you find yourself wanting to be in a place where you're perfectly suited to the space, then wander into Lost Coast. The coast may be lost; however, your inner wolfhound will be found.

This is my favorite place to eat in eureka! when we visit its dinner here every night! The sampler is the only way to go and the nachos and wings were delicious!! Great place and the people were awesome!!! A must go! We also do the brewery tour every year it is pretty cool!
