Absolutely appreciate this restaurant!! Grew up in Sky Valley, first time there in late seventies early eighties my mom worked there I knew Mario and the machaca is still Absolutely delicious , both Mexican and American breakfast! A gem to us locals hats off to the owner, cook and servers.

Live nearby, I use to come here a lot when the two brothers ran it, not sure if they still own it anymore. Food is low quality for a high price, probably since there's not much out here in Desert Edge. Service is okay, but server doesn't buss tables with any urgency, just leaves tables dirty and that's not good for restaurant appeal.
We live near by, and have been coming since the two brother's ran the cafe, but we don't see either of them anymore. The service is okay, not super bubbly for a small cafe. The food is okay, my hubby says we could make better at home ourselves. The prices are super high for the low quality.
Homey cafe, friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced. We went for breakfast a couple of times. They do traditional breakfast (pancakes, etc.), but the Mexican breakfasts are the real attraction—huevos rancheros, machaca, and so on. The sides of potatoes, beans, and tortillas are superb.
The food was amazing. Staff were very friendly.
Good down home food and the service is great. Will eat there again. A+

Great food if you want the best huvous Rancho Hot its awsome but the cook that cooks it the best is only there on sunday yummy
Geez Louise, like All-star Burger and ESPECIALLY the Golden Lantern , this place follows the leader by tacking on $3-$4 more for every menued item than it's equivalent anywhere in Palm Springs. Really people? Let's get Chef Ramsey to come on down here and see what he says about it ! Feels like they should be serving cadavers in there - not food.

One of my favorite go-to places for Brunch/Lunch when I'm working. I typically order a breakfast meal or one of their BLTs and they are delicious! They make a perfect over medium egg and the bacon is nice and thick/crispy. Their iced tea is refreshing too :)

We started coming here a few years back. Absolutely loved it. But, of course when the chef changes so does the food. Don't get me wrong, it's still very good. There are just some subtle differences in flavor. Nice quaint little place.
