Hands down my favorite coffee shop I’ve ever been to! The coffee quality is amazing and the people are even more amazing. Chad and Shay are my favorite baristas and always make me feel welcome.

Best coffee house on the mountain!! Chad and Shay are amazing!! I have milk allergies and can no longer have my favorites white mocha and white mocha and they invented a great drink that I love just as much and no tummy ache!!!!! Such a happy fun atmosphere!!

Real coffee enthusiasts! From entering you could tell Higher Ground knows coffee. Super friendly staff, amazing selection of roasts and very good pricing. We grabbed 4 drinks, two bags of coffee and some coffee bread. The coffee bread was flavorful and moist. The coffee, blown away by the flavor profiles. Definitely a local hidden gem. Tons of space to sit inside or outside. A lot of parking out front and the right of the building. Defiantly our go to spot when in town. Will be back!

Whenever I move to a new neighborhood, a good walkable coffee shop, diner, & record shop is ultimately what sells me. Higher grounds was part of the trifecta that put me in Crestline after leaving Los Angeles. (See Crestline Cafe & Mystic Mountain Records for the other two) A super friendly staff every time I’ve been in, which is often, always a great breakfast sandwich, and always a dependably good and strong coffee. The sign that reads “filter people not coffee” when you walk in immediately lets you know you are welcome. One thing to note, the coffee profiles tend to be in the bolder Kenyan taste arena, even though many are sourced from Central America. It’s great coffee, but if you like mellow, sweeter, chocolatey tones, you might want to get a latte instead.

A really bad choice in life led me to Higher Grounds. Let me back up. For Christmas, my wife gifted me with a retreat in the mountains to clear my head after a busy Christmas season. This morning, I woke up and experienced the worst cup of coffee in the world in my hotel room. I know better. Thanks to yelp, redemption was close by and the friendly staff quickly supplied me with a proper Café Americano. the inside of the shop is clean and it looks cool. if one bring some ear buds, they may be able to get some work done here if there are open seats. its also a good place to grab your stuff and go. Next time I'm in the mountains, I'll try the food.

I only come here once a week when I come up the mountain and the workers still remember me and make me feel so welcome. Love this place and the pastries are to die for!

Stopped by to get an ice coffee for the road. The coffe tasted awful. I wanted a drip ice coffee, I don't know what I got. The coffee tasted extremely sour. It just had this taste that was super unpleasant. Not a fan of whatever bean they use at all. Service was ok. The staff didn't seem overly excited to be there. It was an odd vibe. We also got a crossiant and cinnamon roll. The crossiant was also just ok. Not sure if they make them there or get them from a bakery, but they need some work. Given that I couldn't get a good cup of ice coffee at the bare minimum, I won't be back. This was my second time returning to give them a try, and once sipped the coffee, I remembered why I don't go there. Kudos to anyone who actually thinks the coffee or ice coffee is good. You have mighty tastebuds.

As much as I love supporting local businesses, I have been disappointed with the food and coffee prices both times I have gone. A small plain coffee is almost the same price as Starbucks and is not the best coffee. The first sandwich I had was a turkey sandwich and the bread was half stale. The second time I went I got a egg, bacon, and cheese breakfast bagel. My bagel wasn't even toasted. Not impressed.

Cashier/employees lack of common sense and kindness. I’ve been up since 5am. I need to supervise concrete pump work schedule for first thing in the morning. I could not break away to have a decent cup of coffee nor something to eat. By the time I could break away, I was not able to put my order in person before 10:00 AM for a bagel sandwich. Although I had to wait for the person before me placing an order, by the time I got to the front it was 10:03 AM and I was turned down for a sandwich, although, again, the person before me put her order through, which I could be wrong but it also included a sandwich. Common sense and decency dictates kindness and understanding due to any circumstances. The guy gave a lame excuse about pans, bla bla...so they could not fulfill the order. Kindness and empathy come from the heart. Unable to read the situation led me to believe that they don’t care about servicing customers nor encouraging more business, especially from local people. Now, I can see why the place is mostly empty. Unfortunately, I don’t think will stop by the place again. Previous owner, years ago at least made an effort to keep customers happy. These millennials can care less. It’s sad that businesses feel they can control the narrative, especially when there is a price. Lastly, not even an apology for any inconvenience issued at all. 👎👎👎👎

Super friendly staff and owner, excellent iced chai latte. The ham and cheese pastry is my favourite. Such a cheerful vibe. Very welcoming and clean. I’m visiting from away and have been coming here frequently. I love this place!!
