Really nice breakfast spot - and though we aren’t fancy coffee lovers, I’m sure those that are will love discovering this place!
There is nothing horribly wrong with this place, I had a chicken pesto artichoke sandwich Which was ok. The atmosphere is cozy but the fact you have to pick up your food and all the condiments and bus your own table is very off-putting. I learned that TIPS stood for To Insure Proper Service. Well....I'm serving myself, I'm cleaning up after myself.... nobody greeted me at my table.......it's basically like being at a cafeteria yet a tip is still expected? I guess it's a sign of the times? Pay me to not do my job. One girl sat at the counter on her phone and the other typed orders into her screen and even told me if I wanted to sit where I wanted to sit then I could just move a chair over there as if she was confined to an imaginary bubble of minimalism. All in all if you are seeking a "dinning experience this is not the place. If you want to serve yourself, clean up after yourself and eat "ok" food it is the place. Don't forget to tip.
Food was great, service and staff was friendly and inviting. Great outdoor spaces.
I would live inside this place if I could.
One of the best places in Arnold. Can't go wrong with breakfast or lunch here.

So far everything I have ordered on the menu has been awesome. Even their breakfast burritos are soo good you want to eat yourself into a food coma. Their coffee is great. I always order their Salted Caramel coffee
Ordered two Cappuccino’s. My wife’s was light and all foam. Mine was just ok yet the extra shot of vanilla was a sweet syrup puddle on bottom so had to spit out last swallow. Never going back. Awful 😣
In a cold winter morning, when every restaurant is closed, you go to this only open restaurant and it SURPRISEs you. A cozy place with a friendly staff and good food. What else do you want to start your day?

Just what our family needed after a day of snow fun in Bear Valley. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and my spouse had a beer salad - both prepared fresh. Will be back!
Fast service, fun holiday coffee flavors. A barista who prepared coffee orders was sneezing and coughing, no mask, I wish she was considering customer health more .
Always our to go place! There are choices for vegans! Breakfast is awesome.
Cute little bistro with all the brunch and lunch fixings and coffee options. A lot of seating and parking options available. They have a beautiful patio. They also had live barbeque on some days with Thanksgiving specials ☺️ Food was really good, I got sandwiches to go for our hike and they were really delicious.

I went down there with my kids for the Harvest Festival🍁🎃 It was great! Despite that it had rained most of the morning. They still had activities for kids. Free pumpkins. Candy. Booths. Great time. Thank you.

My friends and I camp every year during the end of summer; this year we went to Calaveras Big Tree State Park (which was amazing btw lol) Anyways, we usually get food together on the way home at a restaurant nearby wherever we camp that year. This year we went to Bistro Espresso (which is 6 minutes driving from Calaveras) and it was one of the best post-camp meal I've had so far. The first thing we noticed was how absolutely adorable the place looked, it has such a warm vibe to it. We were also a pretty big party (11 people) and they accommodated us with no problem. We were hoping for breakfast, but arrived during lunch hours which wasn't a disappointment at all bc the food was awesome regardless. All of our food came pretty quickly especially for how many people we had, and everything tasted so good. We all ordered a bunch since we had been camping and it was our first meal of the day, and there wasn't a single bad dish. We all passed around bites of whatever we ordered and it was all good. We could not stop gushing about how tasty everything was, everything even down to the ketchup (which was made in house). The staff was super sweet and even suggested we move around our seating situation to something more comfortable. Grateful that we picked this place on a whim to end our annual camping trip, it was the perfect cherry on top. Thank you for having us Bistro Espresso 😊
Excellent coffee, pretty good food, excellent service. Live in Bay Area, have a cabin in Bear Valley and go there about every 1-2 months and stop for coffee every time. Been going there for 10+ years and they have survived the COVID craziness years well.
2nd time dining here, service is okay, Larry is super cool.
