Great place!!!!! Soooo good!!! Went after my son's promotion cause he wanted pancakes.... Did not disappoint! Amazing staff and amazing food! Super cozy comfortable and clean! Food was amazing!

Laverna’s is a great little hole in the wall in Tucson. My cousin Lalo, his lady, and his kids suggested the place. Tucked away in an older office area, this not so tiny star is a maze of rooms and spaces. There’s even a living room setup for a man cave dining experience. Cool, right? Careful though, service can get backed up when the place fills so go early or later for breakfast. Anyway, I ordered the ham and cheese with hash-browns. I also asked for a side of biscuits and gravy. Yeah, for a skinny guy, I had a big appetite. The omelette was cooked to perfection, the potatoes were crispy and the biscuits were fresh and flaky. I’ll add that the prices were reasonable. Good place.
I needed work done on my car and I live far from Tucson with no decent auto mechanics. I had my little dog with me and couldn’t wait at the auto shop (they had dogs as well). The shop called Laverna’s to make sure it was ok I waited there for a few hours as the work was being done. They said sure, my pup was ok to bring, too. I get there and make sure again it’s ok I wait with my dog, they just stare and said “yeah but he’s not allowed on the chairs”. I don’t know who does that, but I certainly don’t. I sit down and get a menu. She then tells me I’m not allowed to feed him my food either. Again, I don’t know who does that but I certainly don’t. I order, the food arrives as does the bill. It’s always a little jarring when that happens, it feels like they’re just trying to get me out the door. It was not busy… I may not look it, but I am physically disabled. The wooden chairs were very painful for me to sit on and I knew I wouldn’t make it three hours without being in tears. I had seen a comfortable chair in the women’s restroom and explained (after I’d paid my bill) everything and the woman rolled her eyes and looked at the ground and said “well we close at 2”. Great! I only had 20 minutes and I also needed to find somewhere else to go for an hour?! Turns out they *don’t* close at 2 they just didn’t want me there. Incredibly rude and hateful people. Food was not good either.
One of the best breakfast restaurants in Tucson! Been eating here for 20+ years and the food is done nothing but get better

Lavernas is our go to for my family! It's perfect for the kids my favorite is the apple pecan pancake you only need one! They're huge! Biscuits & gravy is a plus! Omelets are huge as well, everything is made with love. No matter how poppn it is inside you'll always get help with what you need. It's cozy, my mom always brought me & my brother. & now I bring my children. It's a special spot for us. Thanks Lavernas ♡

5 stars all the way. I first found out about this place by accident playing around with google maps. i was like, what? a coffee shop in an industrial hood. i checked further and from the reviews and pics it looked pretty decent. Fast forward to now. I finally tried it and it was great. its so homey and non-pretentious. its a breath of fresh air. i was surprised to see so many customers but there was no wait. unlike the other chain restaurants that make you wait. our server was great and friendly. the food is reasonably priced and the bathrooms were clean. you can view the kithcen from the dining room which i always like. just in case you know. this place is big too. it has a backroom and a side room and also they postmates. They were well staffed up too. I highly recommend this place and i will def keep coming back. The pancakes looks absolute huge.... the lady said one will feed two people . There is plenty of parking. some in the front and some on the side and more in the back. they only have the front entrance tho. to my suprise this place has been here for over thirty years!!!!!
Little mom-and-pop breakfast and coffee joint. good food, quick service and reasonably well priced!
I've heard good things about this place. I got the red menudo.... probably won't be back again. At least not for the menudo, maybe I'll try something else if I go back.
Busy Sunday after church but great service and wonderful food
On the recommendation of a friend, we came here for breakfast to this unassuming little cafe serving up diner style food. It did not disappoint. Incredibly friendly and welcoming we sat down and were immediately taken care of. I have to say right off the bat the service was fantastic. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, after consulting with the table next to us who had ordered it and were apparent regulars. We also ordered the Blueberry pancake (HUGE!) and a half order of the biscuits and gravy which my friend had raved about. The food came out made to order, hot and delicious. My husband who is super picky about Huevos Rancheros loved them. My Blueberry pancake was so big I could only eat half of it, so the other half came home with me. The biscuits and gravy were absolutely wonderful. How I have never been here, or even heard about Laverna's is beyond me.
Where do I start. Everyone was very welcoming. The coffee was good. My waitress was pretty great! I order chicken fried steak with over medium eggs, hashbrowns and a side of biscuits and Gravy. My food came out hot and fresh, real fresh, chicken fried steak. It was an amazing meal at an excellent price! Highly recommend!!
Comfort food is the least you can describe this place as. Great service and portions you’ll have troubles finishing.
Great food, great service and centrally located
Exceptional breakfast! I had the green chili cheese omelette with home fries and sourdough toast. My husband had the chorizo and egg burrito with refried beans. He also ordered a pancake. Everything was absolutely delicious! Service was excellent the owner was very friendly. Don't pass up this gem of a place!
First time and the food was great. I have been searching for a good breakfast joint. I am only giving 3 stars due to the rudeness of the staff. My server was excellent but towards the end of my visit I initiated chatting with her for about a minute. After she walked away we could hear another employee complaining that she was talking and annoying customers which is completely incorrect. If anyone annoyed me it was the woman who didn’t have enough courtesy to say this away from where I could hear or until I left. Maybe that type of service is acceptable for regulars but I did not find it appropriate. As good as the food was if the server who helped me today is not there IF I attempt to go again I will not be eating at this establishment ever again.
