Delicious wholesome food and the service was excellent. If only all servers would be this friendly and efficient. We will be back on our next visit to the area.

We went to this Cafe for the first time. My son has been to Germany and we wanted to try some food. We were all pleasantly surprised in not only how great the food and drinks tasted but how adorable the Cafe was and how wonderful the lady was. I highly apologize for not remembering her name but she was so happy, outgoing, and professional. Only regret is we do not live in Arizona to be able to go back more often. Thank you for a wonderful meal and time.

I could say the boring "they had a great service""friendly amothsphere". This time, I will not for this cafe deserves more. When welcomed, if you are from germany or studied the language, there is never a shy moment to refresh yourself. Trying each dish that was served in our course of a meal was tasty. Also, dessert goes quickly because it is so delicious. I can not wait to try their strawberry torte. I was too late. It's my fault on that one, lol. The service was grand, nothing like taking my mother out to eat, and she was able to speak German and I English. I will be returning every time I get the opportunity thank you for the hospitality :-)

Unexpectedly excellent German fare. Service was great, and both the schnitzel and spaetzle were amazing. Great potato pancakes, too, that I highly recommend. Definitely don't hesitate if you're looking for great German cuisine in the area.

Excellent European Food We were in Sierra Vista one day to visit the military fort and wanted something unique for lunch so we stopped by The German Cafe. It's on the end of a strip and is very cozy inside. We were there just after noon and there were maybe 4 other tables with diners so service was excellent. We both had iced teas that were refreshing on that hot day. My wife ordered the Schnitzel Lunch Sandwich with came with fries and cole slaw. I ordered a bowl of the Hungarian Goulash Soup that came with a slice of garlicky grilled bread. The pork on the Schnitzel Sandwich was perfectly cooked - moist and fried just right. The cole slaw is oil vinegar dressed with bacon and onion. We loved it. My Goulash was perfect with nice amounts of pork, potato and other vegetables. An excellent flavor with plenty of paprika, which may have contributed to just a little spice kick. The grilled garlic bread was a nice addition. The other diners clearly had been there before as they all saved room for cake which we found out is one of their most popular items, but we had to pass on it this time. For a change from southwest menus, try The German Cafe to escape to Europe for awhile.

My husband and I had a fabulous dinner at the German Cafe on April 25, 2023. The food is very authentic and fresh. I said authentic because, we are both very familiar with German cuisine and quite picky, since we both can and do cook it. The schnitzels were cooked perfectly, and the side dishes of spetzel, red cabbage, and cucumbers with sour cream, were prepared perfectly. We were pleasantly surprised by the strawberry and blueberry cake as well. Our waitress was very engaging and pleasant. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a taste of home German cooking.

Absolutely delicious. Service was great and everything tasted fresh. I really dug my Weiner Schnitzel meal with potato pancakes and spatzle. If I lived closer, I'd definitely frequent this place.

The best German food I've ever had. We shared a few dishes but they were all equally delicious. Seriously, try this place if you are ever in town!

Be aware: I called the German Cafe today and made a reservation for 10 to 15 people for 4 Ladies Birthdays ~ We took a cake into the restaurant ~ After we ate dinner ~ I requested plates and forks for our cake ~ When it came time to pay our bill we noticed we were charged $1.50 per person for the plates and forks ~ I did not appreciate Not Being Told Ahead of Time that we were being charged $1.50 per person for the plates and forks ~ I have lived in this town 32 years and plan monthly birthday parties, luncheons and dinners for our group And we've probably hit every restaurant that can accommodate our group ~ This is the first time this has ever occurred ~ The cashier told us the manager told her to put the $1.50 charge on our bill. Where is the customer service ???

This place is cozy and always delicious. Be warned, usually they only have one waitress, so service is really slow. Don't go if you're just wanting a quick in and out meal. If you have the time to spend, the food quality is worth the wait.

Exactly what I expected at the German Cafe. German chocolate cake was delicious! Schnitzel was very good and I really enjoyed the cucumber salad.

The server and service was excellent. My food arrived shortly after I ordered and steaming hot. I was contemplating between two dishes and the server recommended she liked one of my choices because it had a little spice but not overly spicy. I'm glad she was correct. I had the schnitzel topped with spicy bell peppers and onion gravy. The schnitzel was fresh! Crisp and hot! The little spice was perfect for just the right "kick." One of my sides was the cucumber salad which seemed a bit runny/watery, but seasoned perfectly with a lot of dill. It was cool and refreshing. The other side dish was the spatzle. It wasn't hot, so it was probably made earlier in the day and simply spooned on to my dinner plate. I wish it was warmed up at least, but I mixed them with the excess gravy which was steaming when my plate arrived. I would definitely recommend this great little gem of a restaurant for German food.
