4 HOURS... Save yourself time I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at The Genuine. I had called in advance, providing 4 hours' notice for a takeout order. However, when I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my order, I was met with utter unpreparedness and disregard for customer service. Upon entering, I approached the man at the front counter and asked for a time estimate for my order. I was given a 10 min estimate then another 10 min estimate. After 30 minutes of waiting for an order that was given 4 hours' notice, I approached him again but instead of providing any helpful information, he simply looked at me and then walked away without saying a word. It was clear that he had no intention of assisting or addressing my concerns. This lack of communication and professionalism was unacceptable. I expressed my frustration, explaining that at this point, I could have easily gone somewhere else. Ordering ahead of time should ensure that the food is ready when I arrive. Unfortunately, it seemed like my efforts were in vain, as my concerns were completely ignored. Feeling ignored and frustrated, I ultimately made the decision to leave and find another restaurant that would value my time and provide the service I expected. It is extremely disappointing to encounter such poor customer service, especially on a Thursday night when restaurants typically anticipate a lower volume of orders. I feel compelled to warn other customers about the disappointing experience I had at The Genuine. If you are considering ordering takeout from this establishment, be prepared for a potential lack of readiness and professionalism. Ordering in advance may not guarantee that your food will be ready as promised, and the staff may not prioritize your time or concerns. In conclusion, my experience with The Genuine left me highly dissatisfied. The lack of preparedness, communication, and professionalism exhibited by the staff was simply unacceptable. I urge potential custome
The food is great! We were seated almost immediately (Thanks for reservations!) Our Waitress was FANTASTIC! We wanted for Nothing!
Made reservations for Mothers Day and Megan was a fantastic server. The food and drinks were great.
I was excited when reviewing the menu. Ordered multiple plates. The beet salad was the best of our 4 plates. The homemade pita was good, but the babaganoush was just okay. But the quantity of it was such that the single pita wasn't sufficient. The cauliflower was nothing special. Lastly, the pasta bites were breaded macaroni and cheese. The waiter was attentive. Not sure what ambiance they were going for. I don't see us going back.
Great place to share some plates. Try their Lamb meatballs. Cauliflower has a great spice pop to it! We were wanting to watch the game, so we sat in a nice Lil area righting front of TV.
Tonight we walked in at 8:30 and we’re refused service as they claimed the kitchen was closed. When asked if we could have takeout they said yes. Hmmm… sounds like they didn’t want to provide any service to us. Their loss. Ps—- don’t show up 30 minutes before closing or you will not be getting served!
We did an early dinner. 2 couples split 1 salad and 2 pizzas. The arugula salad was great, and the pigs pizza and prosciutto pizza were great. Drinks were strong and the service was amazing!!!! Will be back.
Service good…food, not so much. We don’t recommend. Noel was our server for dinner on Saturday night. She was friendly and chill. She was able to help us with redeeming our OpenTable gift certificate even though the system was giving her issues. Unfortunately, despite great service, I cannot say I would return here as the food was not great. 1. Appetizers - charred octopus: a bit dry and overpowered by the sauce. 2. Duck spring rolls were okay…nothing special 3. Pizza - crust was over cooked, filling slid off easily and it was overly salty (I got the meat lovers but still) 4. Wagyu steak - probably the most disappointing. The steak was burnt/charred and served over potatoes that were more soggy than gratin. Tasted like it was seared and then thrown into the oven to bake over the potatoes but perhaps left in the oven too long? Decor - it was spacious inside, vibe was cool. Drinks - okay If the food quality was better this place would have potential. On the night of our visit, not so much.
Nice mid century modern theme. Great atmosphere and great service. Good job
It was pretty generic, but tasty. I had a Fungi pizza and the garlic knots. The knots were not as soft as I'd hoped. The pizza was delicious though.
Boring. The food was overpriced and the taste was a solid "meh". The waiter was attentive and nice but he seemed a little miserable. Still left a hefty tip. Hope it made his evening better. The restaurant was decorated nicely but in a very generic modern way. I requested a fruit flavored mocktail and I ended up getting a 7 dollar limeade. Not very creative. Either way I'm not coming back. There are WAY more interesting places to visit. Save your money
Loved everything about this place. Our service from Mark S. was superb!
Service was good but none of us thought the food was anything to write home about.
Love their community support with a community beer handle where they give a couple dollars of the beer to a non profit. Their food and vibe is great. Wood fire pizza is awesome, this go around we had some different items and loved them all the same.
Super trendy vibe in this mid-town remodel across from Luci's. Marketplace. Did SAT bruch- not too busy inside however...... Interesting menu items - our group was large and well accommodated seating wise Pancakes huge but no extraordinary accoutrements with. The Skirt Steak with chimichurri topping (good) over done tho-with 2eggs any style-fingerlings were super hard/undercooked Margherita pizza... mehhh Meat and potato skillet...uder average One meal was never delivered and I had to FIND someone to inquire WHY and WAIT MORE FOR ONE GUEST TO GET FED Outstanding was the Whipped Black Pepper Feta app, but need more lavosh to really eat it AND getting served extra was a struggle Pickled veggies a NO Baba ganoush tasty with fresh 6" round of house made Pita-- ONE PITA -- GETTING MORE NEAR IMPOSSIBLE And like lets read the table- if im waiting on the table and you order a variety of dips as apps- 12 people......ONE 6" PITA NOT COVERING NEED! DRINKS SEEMED TO BE GOOD PER others in Group- All in all i wont rush back- i will give this one time to see if they can get it together
Our server decided to spend 99% of her time at another table which had 12 people instead of equal time with so we left.
The food is amazing! A lot of the stuff is made to order, even the pita! We ended up ordering extra and it was totally worth it. Our favorite dish of the evening was the crispy fingerling potatoes.
Good service. Yummy drinks. Nice atmosphere.
Absolutely loved it. The menu was excellent, the service was too. The price was surprising in that I expected it to be more. One dish we weren't very keen on they immediately offered to replace and did with another choice. Highly recommended.
It's the Vig without the cool Patio...lol They actually took the one great feature a Big patio in the back away from traffic cut it in half and moved it out front so we can hear and smell the cars all day and night. Who plans that...Ha
