Rude owner. We came in a party of 20 including kids. Waited so long for our food. The owner was speaking poorly of our children while bussing the table and we hadn't even left. I confronted her about waiting for guests to leave before speaking bad of them. She told me to leave her a negative review...so here it is.
Fun, funky little spot in the more relaxed section of downtown Flagstaff with easy neighborhood parking. The decor was appropriately kitschy, consisting of owl figurines and art and eclectic ceiling lights. My son had the large cinnamon roll and bacon. He wolfed it down with a smile. I had a Bloody Mary and the avocado toast, both satisfactory, but not steller. We would definitely recommend and stop by next time we are in town!
This place was pretty awesome. She thinks I am giving you guys 5 stars because we didn't have to wait to be seated. It's not the case, lol. You were very welcoming. Liked the ambiance. I ordered a shrom burger with bacon and onion rings because she loves them but never orders them, lol. She had the omelette. I also had a glass of Odell draft beer. Loved the service and the whole experience. Thank you!
First time here! Cute little place but our server was not very attentive, had to flag down someone else after we sat without refills to our drinks for 30 minutes. Food was good but expected it to be hot consider having to wait 40+ minutes for it to be made. Understand a back up but cold food after that seems like something was not right.
We had the biscuits and gravy and a breakfast bowl. Both were very good! Service was super friendly and fast. There are tons of vegan and vegetarian options. The patio seating is super cute and plentiful. There is street parking out front, we had no issue finding a spot for breakfast on a Tuesday. Would definitely go again!
We had breakfast, sitting outside on their large patio. The food was great! Gluten free bread! Highlighted menu for GF, Vegan, Vegetarian diets. The double asterisk on the menu indicates dangers of raw/not fully cooked eggs. Super tiny print at bottom.
Was seated really quickly, luckily it started to rain and we asked if we could go inside and they very nicely accommodated us. But Chai was too sweet. Coffee was good. My biscuits and gravy came out cold, but everyone still liked their food. Server was very short with us and not very helpful, and no refills. But everything was very clean and maintained.
Eclectic place in flagstaff. Great food and service. Free wifi, lots of veg options
This is only our 2nd time here and wow!!! The food is delicious!!! So fresh and not ‘run-of-the-mill’. Everything was simply delightful! I love the breakfast and just can’t get myself to order lunch. Maybe next time we visit.
This was a solid breakfast! If it’s a busy day (we went graduation weekend on Mother’s Day) I highly recommend calling in the order and having take out. There’s outside seating with a few umbrellas, but most people were in the sun. The inside has lots of tables too, but when it is busy the line is outside and you are just waiting for people to leave. Calling in they take your number and text you when your order is ready, which was slick. They have an order online website, but it wasn’t working on our Sunday. Breakfast burrito is amazing. It’s also nice and big. Veggie scramble was also good and I had it as an omelette. The side of potatoes are hefty sized potato chunks. Be aware that the to go container is robust but essentially a deep box, so if you get something that is better on a plate than in a box.. plan ahead. They have cute utensil kits, but there are no sauces or salsas, so next time we will ask for those to be included. Staff was nice and the food was wicked quick given the massive line and the busy restaurant.
This place is pretty kitchy. Lots and lots of Owl items, they're really leaning into the owl thing. They also have multiple signs up saying that "everything" is for sale. Clearly the "vintage" stuff, like Owl salt and pepper shakers are, but good luck getting them to sell you one square foot of their floor. The service was absolutely fantastic. You pay via handheld device is nice, tipping options are 20/22/25 which I'm not a fan of. Yes, staff deserves pay, etc, I won't go into that now, but if you're going to have auto options have enough to let me reflect what's deserved. 10? 15? 45? Anyways, the menus are "distressed" to add to the kitsch. Sadly, that makes portions unreadable. Not that it's really necessary, the staff is so cool that you could probably just be like, "hey, can I get the almond cakes as a wrap with the sausage scramble inside and then like, a side of chorizo or something?" and they'll be like, "Dude, yes! Let's roll this out!" Anyways, I look forward to their Phoenix location opening up!
The food was very good and the atmosphere was so fun. We will be back for sure.
Our family comes here alot for breakfast. Pretty cool place with the owl decor. Kids love it. Also, we love that we can bring our dog with us, and eat on the patio. All the staff is super nice and great!
Just left the place and I’ve had the best breakfast in a long time. Super tasty vegetarian options. Eggs and vegan chorizo, good bread options too. Nice homemade Potatoes . Everything tasted really good. If you’re in the area it’s the place to go for good yummy healthy breakfast.
This place is unique, just beautiful. It's just long waits to go in and also for the food to be served. If you are in a hurry you can find another place as there are more places close by that don't require a long time to be serviced.
The Toasted Owl is quite a unique place. The "Owl " theme is throughout the restaurant. We waited about 30 mins. on a Sunday around noon. The food is well worth the wait. In looking at the reviews I was all psyched up to try the Breakfast Tamales. 2 hand-made tamales, one beef and one with green chiles and cheese. Comes with black beans and 2 ( over easy) eggs. The tamales are covered with green enchilada sauce. We also ordered a Build your own Breakfast Bowl (which has mixed fresh veggies, potatoes, scrambled eggs, pork chorizo, flour tortilla, and house-made salsa. A Breakfast Burrito and a second order of the Breakfast Tamales made our foursome. The food was outstanding. Everyone left full and happy. We know our go-to place when we come to Flagstaff. "OWL" see you next time.
Wife loved the setting and atmosphere. Very good service! Everyone was friendly and attentive. Compliments to the cooks! The food was very good. The Spanish omelette comes with some of the best green salsa I've ever had at a breakfast cafe. We asked for extra and all added it to our breakfast. 😆 We all walked out full and happy.
Came here for the first time a few days ago and my experience was really good! The waitress was extremely friendly and accommodating. I ordered the giant cinnamon roll which was reallly delicious! I also ordered the BLAT which was really good! It was a little bit dry but it was still really good! I would highly recommend this place. The environment is extremely quirky. There’s different owl themed items around and the seating chairs are all different styles and sizes as well as the light fixture. It’s super cool to look around at the different items.
All I can say is awesome vibe and the food was so delicious. Great experience
It's been a while since we have been here! And of course, on our trip back to flagstaff this week, it was necessary to stop here at least once for breakfast. It was snowing this morning so we sat inside. This place is super cute and has owl decor EVERYWHERE! They offer an extensive breakfast menu but I'm basic and got the egg breakfast with over easy eggs, bacon, potato's and toast. My boyfriend ordered the egg sandwich which came with a side of potato's and my daughter had the kids pancake which came with bacon. All of our food was awesome. Service was excellent and fast. We will come back again hopefully soon!
