Update May 2023: vegan/gluten free or not, try the Dosa for breakfast. So delicious! Whenever I have sat down to dine here it has been nothing short of excellent. With that said, they also have a wonderful selection of baked goods and pastries, as well as a coffee bar, available for folks that don’t have a lot of time. Everything looks delicious, so just plan to buy more than you can eat and share it. They also support local growers by carrying a variety of products such as spices and honey. Finally, they have an EV charging location that has come in handy well more than once! I would support them for that service that they provide to the community alone.
We were mostly ignored the whole time, it was really cold, I wasn't even sure who our server was, and my pizza was horrible. My husband's food was great, mine was pretty gross.
Need more gf options and better gf bread..very dense and dry/hard. Service was iffy...never came back to refill water...didn't receive our entire order.
Spanakopita was slightly overly baked. The margherita pizza was bland, and the crust was tough. The server was very polite and considerate, but seemed to have poor knowledge of the beverage offerings. But decent offerings otherwise.
My wife phoned early morning 11 March 2023 to confirm Vegan options were available for dinner that night. They confirmed many of their dishes could be modified to meet our dietary restrictions. Upon arriving at 6:00PM our server stated they had nothing Vegan on their menu and seemed like he just wanted us to leave. My wife asked to see the manager and then all of a sudden he started making suggestions on slight menu modifications. My wife's friend and I decided to just get the penne pasta with marinara. We received our pasta dishes and the noodles were way undercooked by about 3-4 minutes. This was extremely chewy and we each ate about 2 bites and decided just to box it up. We decided upon leaving the 2 pastas we're not worth taking home and left them on the table. The marinara on the pasta wasn't the right consistency. Just looked like miniature chopped up tomatoes with nothing resembling a sauce. The only bright part for me was the Vegan chocolate cake which was delicious. My wife did enjoy her portobello dish with rice. If you don't want to serve people with dietary restrictions just be up front with us and tell us you can't. We don't want to waste your time and definitely not ours. If you can't get a simple pasta dish right this begs me to question the quality of all your dishes. This is my first and last visit to this restaurant.
What a treat. I have very few cravable dishes and their moussaka made the list. It taste as warm as a firebin a cabin at -40F.
Great food, dependable service, and reasonable prices. And grab some of their baked goodies for the trip home. Highly recommended. Update - I was happy to learn that Red is now serving breakfast. My breakfast buddies and I enjoyed a great meal with great coffee. And the prices here have stayed very reasonable - especially considering the high prices you'll find at other newer and more trendy options. I felt that the price/value of this breakfast was more in line with normality than other places I've recently visited.
Definitely on the higher end for eating in Palmer but well worth it for the good service and lovely atmosphere. I am not normally a salad person but their beef steak salad is a perfect blend of light and filling.
Need to hire women for better food not men.your food will get way better if you hire women only in your kitchen not criminals. Men don't belong in the kitchen at all
I use to really enjoy this place. However, I recently went and none of the food was very good. Perhaps they have a new chef? I don't have plans to return.
Great food selection for a small town in Alaska. I would highly recommend stopping here for a quick bite to eat, or for a sit down meal.
Worst food we've had in a very long time. Cold stew sent back twice cold hot chocolate sent back twice terrible service and way over priced for no flavor food.
Service was good. Had the BLCT, the chicken was so dry that it was difficult to eat and lacked flavor :( Soup was good though.
I must say, that my son and I were not impressed with the food. The restaurant itself was really nice and the staff was amazing. Just for the price, was over $100 for 2 people and the food had no flavor...
Great chef, great service - a bit more spendy, but it's our favorite place to go celebrate 🥂
I came in here on a cold rainy day and warmed up with some of their soups, coffee, and bread - all of which were delicious
I just had an abysmal experience at turkey red, when I arrived our order was under a different name but with the right number and it wasn’t even the correct pizza, they refund me since I didn’t have time to wait for a new one and they told me to take the pizza they already made, so I just chose to eat it and there is a dead bug on the pizza.
Mediocre at best. The order took forever for a soup & sandwich. They were out of Kombucha (at noon?). My sandwich fell apart, bottom of our bread was soggy, the BLCT had no flavor, no clams in chowder are in which the soup didn’t come hot. Server didn’t come back to see how everything was!?! A couple came & gone while we were still waiting waiting.
Wow the service here is really something. Came in with no line and plenty of empty tables and waited at the sign that said wait for service. No one who worked there acknowledged my existence for at least 10 minutes. No hi, no one moment please, nothing. Finally someone came over and asked how they could help me and I requested a table (notice again no hi or sorry or anything). I waited another 15 minutes at my table before waiving down a server to place my order. The order came wrong, the server was definitely high or something because he forgot he took the order of the people next to me and asked if they wanted to eat to which they responded they ordered to him a while ago and he completely forgot. Once the food came, the lentil burger was super dry. The eggplant was hard (completely undercooked) and the serve brought salad instead of the soup I ordered. Do not recommend this place at all, they really need to do something about their staff.
Great food!!!!! Awesome service! I had never tried Kombucha and I was given a sample to see if I would like it. Customer service like that is awesome!! We had the hummus appetizer (with great bread!) and beef stew. Tender and juicy with the perfect amount of meat and veggies. A good selection of deserts which we took to go. You'll love it!
