We had a burger here - it was warmed up microwave stuff and didnt taste at all - but overpriced.
Charming place with good coffee - the best we have had in Alaska so far. We did not stay in the cabins.
Charming place. Lovely owners. Great for families
Our trio stumbled across Patty's cabins, not knowing where we were going to stay that night, and could not have picked a better place to stay! The cabins are charming, and even though they don't have running water there is a heater, and a sink with a drain, as well as a coffee pot with some water bottles, and even TVs (no reception) for which she has a fantastic collection of DVDs! Patty's homemade food is INCREDIBLE, as is her coffee. Patty is also the most delightful and hardworking woman - we enjoyed breakfast with her and truly loved getting to know her. She and her husband John (Jon?) created this space, and John built all of the cabins. We even stopped back by on our way out of Wrangell St Elias just to say hi again and grab more coffee! I can't wait to come back!
Best Place to Eat while out fishing or hunting or just enjoying a ride and the Cabins are great!!
Great coffee and freshly baked pastries! Loved listening to hostess and her AK stories 🌺🌲🌸
Awesome sweet lady, great food 👍I miss you so I much in the winter!
Excellent Coffee and Food. I have been stopping here for years. Take your time, slow down, and sip some coffee. Truly a Jewel of the great state of Alaska
I got to say, I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at the Golden Spruce restaurant. My wife and I were hangry… not realizing that most of the restaurants in the nearby area had closed for the season. But we were on our way to McCarthy to glacier hike so we had to push forward. We stopped in a nearby convenience store and bought some expired pop tarts. On a whim, we asked the store if there was an open restaurant in the area and they pointed us to Patty’s restaurant. It’s charming! It’s inside this octagonal wooden cabin. Patty is super nice and we enjoyed meeting her. We ordered some burgers and coffee and both were absolutely delicious! Some of my favorite coffee on our two week trip! Patty’s food was a lifesaver, even if it’s admittedly pricey (hey, it’s remote AK after all) and a lot of the menu items were out (she explains suppliers were essentially back ordered; makes sense given the pandemic and the location). She runs a cash only establishment but there is an ATM in the building. Stay a while and enjoy one of the very few places to kick your feet up on your way to and from the area.
Nice lady and expensive but tasty sandwiches
Sandwiches are all $16 now, expensive food. Owner was not very friendly.
Pretty good veggie burger and good coffee
I enjoy stopping here after the Chitna fishing trip for a cup of coffee. They have neat rock collection on display.
Really cool restaurant on the road! Loved it
