Absolutely a must! My go to whenever I’m in town. Great place to take a date too 😉
Pretty good. No idea how I missed it.
Fantastic spot for breakfast. Loved it. Decended on this spot with 16 people and the staff handled it like Champs.
Love this place. Still the best coffee in town, but getting priced out of visiting as often.
Travis is a nasty sob. I wanted to make reservations for a future visit and he was very nasty and hung up on me. So disappointed.
Excellent breakfast and lunch, prices were good considering its Alaska, portions are large and the bacon was cooked perfect. The Apple twist was unique and very tasty
I have always had good experiences at this restaurant. The food is always hot and fresh and the coffee is always good. The only downfall I say for this restaurant it is typically very full and seating is difficult at best. But it goes to speak for the food that the restaurant serves. The environment is very warm and cozy. I always enjoy going to this restaurant.
The Rookery is a must try here in Juneau. A down to earth atmosphere mixed with great coffee and tea with the bonus of a fantastic focused menu. Everything that comes out of their kitchen is wonderful and fresh. There is obviously a lot of pride that goes into their offerings. In addition to their menu offerings they have a small selection of pastries that should be experienced. Their croissants, whether sweet or savory, are delicious. The wife and I highly recommend this establishment and make it a regular little date for ourselves.
Best place to stop downtown for coffee, pastries or even something more filling like eggs Benedict!
Excellent spot and excellent food (and menu). Pay no attention to the cranky 1 star cruise folks' reviews. I love the owner's responses to some of the insane 1 star reviews with zero accountability. As a small business owner, keep it up.
Like most places in Juneau the barista is great, our breakfast was so good and the apple rose pastry was the Best!
Very welcoming and warming place - was my first stop in Juneau, esp on a raining day: good coffee and the blueberry scone was on point on sweetness.
I wanted to like this place more. I thought the menu was superb with a good amount of vegetarian options, and patrons and people working there all seemed happy. The bakery items looked fabulous. One of us had a burger with tater tots that was enjoyed, and I had the avocado toast (which was basically most of a cut in half avocado placed face down on top of toast with a spice and seeds sort of mix with some shredded greens sprinkled on top - not a style that worked well for me even though toast itself was really good - there is an option to add egg and hollandaise which may have improved it). Music was repetitive. Decor was interesting - loved the painting above counter area with Ferlinghetti quote. Some of the photos (reindeer being slaughtered) were not to my liking, but I'm sure interesting to others and part of Alaska life.
The place has a good selection of items but is usually crowded. Also when I visited it had some kind of bad smell coming from the dishwashing room on the second floor. Bowl name sounds fantastic but certain dishes are not meant to be eaten in a bowl specially when it needs fork and knife 🍴.
Great place amazing food ,friendly atmosphere and staff. The food was flavorful and earthy.
Excellent spot for breakfast or lunch or a to-go coffee/pastry. It is a popular spot, and gets busy quickly in the morning, so going early if you want to sit and eat is recommended. Otherwise, the line moves fairly quickly, and the wait for to-go items isn't too bad. Waiting for food only took about 10 minutes for sit-down. For our breakfast, I had the Eggs Benedang, and it was terrific. The chicken was crispy and flavorful on the outside, plus juicy and tender inside. It paired very well with the perfectly poached eggs and ham, plus hollandaise with the right amount of spice. My other party member had the Breakfast Sando with spinach, tomato and bacon, and thought it was the perfect size and tasted great. We also split an excellent sticky bun and each had a coffee. Staff was all efficient and friendly, and very on top of the constant flow of customers.
Awful place for breakfast. It’s always too hot in there, it feels like an oven. Also good luck even knowing when your food is ready too, they yell out your name from all the way in the back and they barely even try to yell it out, so you wont know your food is ready until you get up and check yourself because it feels like it’s taking too long and by that time it’s cold. Went twice and both times were frustrating. First time I got their Supreme Avocado Toast with poached eggs on top. Despite looking like they dumped the whole spice cabinet on it and it being super messy to eat, it had next to NO FLAVOR. Really really disappointing for the price too. 2nd time I went I kept it simple with a breakfast sandwich and it wasn’t great either. They forgot to add the stuff I asked despite the cashier repeating it back to me. This place really shouldn’t be as popular as it is.
The food was great and service was quick...I recommend the Rookery for a quick lunch while on the go.
Nice variety on the menu but I prefer French toast more golden brown than blackened. Good texture and other flavors. Potato dish was good, perfect poached egg.
Visiting Juneau, walked down from Capital building - found this gem. Probably one of the best cafes I’ve ever been to!
